Close Jane, you are only 25 years off. John F. Kennedy was President when what we now know as our Navy SEALs units were formed. Eisenhower was President when the first Marine Corps Force Recon units became part of our special force teams. The Army Rangers have been around, as they are now recognized, since WWII.
What Ronald Reagan did, may he rest in peace, was convince the House and Senate to approve increases in funding for all our special force programs, the programs that Jimmy "Peanut Farmer" Carter tried to do away with. We can thank the Lord, the same Lord that clown claims to worship, that he was not successful in his efforts and President Reagan was.

When it came to down the simplest order to kill Bin Laden it was the Director of the CIA Leon Panetta.

Right now Obama is standing on the shoulders of giants, claiming the credit and the acclaim for the work and sacrifice of others. But our humpty-dumpty president is in for a big fall in November of 2012.

Obama is the worst type of manager. One that takes credit for others work and blames others for his failings. We have all worked with those "I did this" and "So n SO screwed this up" type of people. Quality people leave these types in droves and these people rarely rise above lower management/supervisor positions. How the hell did this dolt get to be POTUS without the dumbing down of the electorate?
The electorate was dumbed down, mostly by the left leaning MSM. You also have the liberal colleges, union thugs, community organizers and other vote plantation masters, you know, all the usual suspects that love the flood of liberal socialism.
