Oh, the humanity. ObamaCare goes down in flames.

The Democrats have filibuster-proof majorities in the house and the senate and yet ObamaCare died a deserved death yesterday because it was so abhorred by the American people.

Senator Kent Conrad, one of one of the lead Democrat negotiators trying to hammer out a bipartisan compromise on the Senate Finance Committee, called further work on a government-run healthcare plan a “wasted effort.” He said the so-called public option doesn’t have enough votes to pass.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius suggested the White House is ready to accept a health care reform package without it.

Even President Obama raised the white flag when he casually mentioned that the single payer option was never something he insisted must be in the final bill.

Sure, the Democrats will attempt to get something passed to placate their far left base, even if it bears no resemblance to the socialized medicine program they wanted. But no one will be fooled.

You just can’t reinflate the Hindenberg.

  • It's not over by a long shot. That 1100 page bill was mostly designed to allow government to dominate the healthcare industry through the public option.

If it was over, they would scratch the entire bill and start over to reform the insurance industry. But they won't do that.

This morning CNN was already talking about the government rescuing the co-op. We all know how government rescue/bail-outs work.

How's that for an end run?
