Once again, Democrat Nancy Pelosi lies and the truth dies.
According to a report from the Director of National Intelligence, Democrat House Speaker Pelosi was fully-briefed on the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” way back in September of 2002.
Of course, this flies in the face of Pelosi’s subsequent statement that she knew nothing about waterboarding or any other “enhanced interrogation techniques.”
What? How could this be? A Pelosi spokesman said Madame Speaker thought the techniques were legal and, my oh my, she never knew waterboarding was used.
“As this document shows, the speaker was briefed only once, in September 2002,” the spokesman said. “The briefers described these techniques, said they were legal, but said that waterboarding had not yet been used.”
Pelosi wants to establish an independent commission to investigate anyone and everyone involved in the drafting the of interrogation methods. Everyone who has an (R) after their name, that is.
Question: How can you tell when Nancy Pelosi is lying? Answer: She moves her lips.

KathyMary,
I respect your fear for this great country, but I am not ready to pull the curtains yet. As a political activist, I see a lot of politicians, but I also know the American people. They have never laid down easily, allowed subjugation, and accepted tyranny. The people know that they still hold the true power both at the ballot box, and on the street corner. This administration will continue to try its dirty tricks, they will dupe some of the people (already have), and cause many to wonder what others are thinking. But they do not control all of us, and we haven't given up YET - And we never will.
DeeMac - what I have heard of your voice so far I really respect. I can only pray that you are perfectly correct. My intutition says that you are but my mind is pacing back and forth and is certain that the end has come. The logical part of me says that all good things MUST come to end and the first truly free and well run republic of any size is ending as I near my 60th year. I tend to be a real, true pessimist. I believe that defeat is a fact of life. It isn't an affectation. It is just the way my mind works. (doesn't mean I don't fight.)
I look at history. Athens had at the very most 200 years give or take a few -don't forget the oligarchy. Rome was a republic for about 450 years.(Fall of the Roman Republic makes my head hurt. I have read countless books and still don't understand it fully!) Republics are rather tender creatures politically. It took one generation of power hungry hoodlums to destroy the Roman Republic. And look at what calmed people... Caesar promising gifts to the populace in his will. Fools sell their freedoms very cheaply.
One problem is the educational complex (I think you will understand what I mean) and the mass Media. The two groups feed off of each other. They design a world view and every soft pliant mind buys into it. It is a game of words, but few see it for what it is. If MSNBC says it must be true. 'Look at me I am a Progressive, arn't I smart and wise and compassionate?'
Heck, I was capable of more doubt & cynicism at 17!
YOU are correct - we do have ultimate power - WE THE PEOPLE -
What I see is us slipping towards a French style revolution - the aristocracy being the educated, political and media classes. We the people, middle class, Christian, conservative base, just getting fed up with them after being driven into the corner too many times.
Either that or an all out attack (French style with the gov't dependent class as the mob) on Christians and the middle class conservatives such as myself. Obama drives them into a frenzy and things get out of hand. Look at Acorn.
I do not like either scenario one little bit.
Meanwhile: the buzzards of China, Russia and Islam circle overhead. WWWIII is simmering in the Middle East. Our economy is in the worse trouble its been in a generation. We may be in for a real pandemic, we have an inexperienced power-hungry egotistical politician in the White House and his administration all look like they should be on wanted posters. A generation that makes the Roman Senate of Cicero's time look like a bunch of amateurs inhabit both of our legislative houses. This climate scare may or may not be real. TOO much reality is hitting this fan, DeeMac, truly, too much. Civilizations don't collapse because one thing goes wrong; its when everything goes wrong, people become exhausted or complacent and the wrong people are in charge at the critical time that chapters of history end.
And, I hope & pray you are right, DeeMac, if you are I give you permission to hunt me up when I am 67 and laugh hysterically in my face. "See I told you so, KM!" My tears will be tears of joy.
DeeMac, keep up the positive attitude. It ain't over yet, I think people may be starting to get wise.
Pelosi is being hoisted on her on petard. She torpedoed Hilldabeast so she could "handle" Obama. Now his mis-step is causing her pain, and her involvement in turn is forcing him to retreat. All that is missing is the popcorn. She thought she would be one of the puppeteers, and now she can be had - poor ugly queen bee.
I consier liberalism a form of torture - and definitely against all American values!
Amen to that !
I am afraid time has run out for the USA - we have few politicians, of either party, that would know the truth if it came up and bit them them on the nose. I suppose it was bound to happen someday. It always does.
