Brad Pitt showed up on Bill Maher’s show the other night to show the world that you don’t have to be stoned to be incoherent. He seems to have taken diametrically opposed positions on the same issue – pot.
Early in the interview, Maher asks Pitt about the rumors that he’s going to run for mayor of New Orleans.
“They were asking about running for mayor, which has been a T-shirt in New Orleans,” Pitt responded, “and I said something to the extent of, ‘No religion, legalization and taxation of pot and pro-gay marriage.’ Which is basically the Bill Maher going straight to hell campaign.” (1:10 to 1:48)
Later, Maher asks Pitt why he gave up pot and the movie star replied, “I’m a dad now and you want to be alert.”

The way we understand this genius’ position, it’s OK to smoke yourself senseless up to the moment you become a father. Maybe even light up a fatty and pass it around the delivery room while you’re becoming a father.
Yup, looks this guy’s dumb enough to succeed Ray Nagin as mayor of New Orleans.

Well, I for one want to see California follow through on their threat to legalize pot.
I don't smoke it and don't even live there, but that would set up a good court fight and maybe the tenth amendment might be brought to light.
Hey Einstein, supporting legalizing and regulating marijuana because prohibition is a failed and ignorant approach, and having the personal opinion that a man should not light up around his 5 or so children are not diametrically opposed positions. There is this thing called "responsible use". Amazing how you quickly jump to name-calling in all of your articles without realizing the blatant stupidity and misinterpretation you put forth yourself.
And in case your genius brain was unaware of it; brilliant fathers like Carl Sagan smoked up and had no problem raising fantastic kids. Do you know why he did not feel it was a problem? Because marijuana does not affect your judgement or morality. Though I should not expect an ignoramus such as yourself to know that now, should I?
that was the same insightful point Obama was making in his video on fatherhood. Of course, if you're really high then you probably won't become a father...
