This new Gallup poll shows both the opportunity and the problem. The opportunity: Obama can be beaten. The problem: All the Republican candidates seem pretty damn generic to us.
You know, generic. Vanilla. Ordinary. Plain. Unexciting. Would someone please find us a thesaurus and would someone else please find us a candidate?

TheHill.com has the story of our 2012 conundrum:
A new Gallup poll found registered voters are split over whether they would vote for President Obama in 2012.
Asked if they would vote for Obama or a generic Republican next year, 45 percent said they would support Obama and 45 percent said they would vote for the GOP candidate in the survey released Wednesday.
The poll shows opportunity for the large field of potential Republican candidates looking to defeat Obama on the heels of the Democrats’ “shellacking” in the 2010 midterm elections, when they lost control of the House and six Senate seats.
Come on. Give us Marco Rubio. Give us Allen West. Give us Mike Pence. Give us Paul Ryan. Give us Chris Christie. Give us somebody who can get us fired up.
Because we’re bored to death with these generic Republicans.

LMAO
You wanna know why all the top Repuglican candidates are so damn generic? Because all the ones who AREN'T generic are total Ultra-Right-Wing Wackos like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman the American people would never in a MILLION elect...lol
It won't matter who the Repuglicans trot out against Obama in 2012, he'll wipe the floor with any of them...;-)
Oh, and the Democrats will be taking back the House then too, and adding to their majority in the Senate. Get ready for it, scumbags...lol
zero got the fake people campaign paid for with our money up and running already?
West/Cain
Cain/West
I'm good either way.
christie is a rino and has made some very bad choices. I don't trust him.
Poor Dan-Dan, s/he had to take hir thumb out of hir mouth long enough to type some libtard hate speech on the computer.... Ms. Barber; you are just more proof that libtard/progs are nothing more than spoiled, petulant, mentally challenged children who live in a fantasy world fueled by dreams of elitism & entitlement to things you haven't earned.

N-99, that's really good prose, you may have a vocation!
Oh, and BTW Dead Beat, Ding-Bat, what ever, "It won’t matter who the Repuglicans trot out against Obama in 2012, he’ll wipe the floor with any of them…;-)" Your Bamboozler-In-Chief couldn't tie his own shoe laces without his teleprompters. A f***ing tube of toothepaste could beat him in a one-on-one debate. The only thing you libtards are good at is standing in line to collect freebies! Oh, and dismiss any idea that the Demalists are going to take back a majority in the House and increase in numbers in the Senate...you gotta be smokin' crack! Every major and minor political pollster of note is predicting just the opposite...it must suck to be a libturd.
Thanks Hisham, my prose style comes in part from 20 years experience writing 'after action' reports.... that and the fact that I've written practically the same response to every single libturd that spews their nonsense on this site and others... a lesson in objective description I learned from my father and superior officers.
My pleasure sir, it shows!
*yawn* I am bored... You people bore me, hence why I don't visit the liberal sites. Why don't you go back to the hole you crawl up from?
Go back to your Code Pink meeting and stay away from here, your wasting good space.
Trolling is an art. An art you're failing at.
This has been a problem in the GOP for years-look at Bob Dole, John McCain. As much as they may be Republican, they are older, very generic and very cautious in what they are willing to do because they are contolled by the party. The GOP needs to be grooming, nay SHOULD have been grooming some up and comers for years. Now they have less than 2 years to find someone who has a brain, enough experience to have a decent chance at doing the job, THEN BACK OFF AND LET THEM! Sorry guys, I would n't vote for Obama for anything, but I wouldn't vote for Sarah either. Get out there and beat the bushes!
What we should do is get behind someone who will represent the dignity of Life at it's beginnings and at it's endings. Someone who will stand up for our national honor and virtue. Someone who doesn't believe that we need to kiss our enemies' asses and poke our allies in the eye with a stick. Someone who will help us put GOD back into our national dialogue and gold back into our currency! They don't have to be a rock star, look where that got us...BO. They should be able to prove where they were born, I mean, not doing so...look where that got us...BO. They don't need to raise a bejillion dollars, look where that got us...BO, and we still don't know who footed that bill...it wasn't the Kiwanis!
We want someone who can answer a yes question with a Yes and a no question with a No, not more BS and flim-flam! Do I hear an Amen Brother!
Amen Brother!!!
I like either Allen West or Donald Trump. Used to dislike Trump I guess I thought him a cocky, rich asshole but after listening to his political views I've changed my mind.
How do you think he became a "cocky, rich asshole"? Because the freedoms we have allowed him to be. Can you even guess how many Americans work for him, not directly but in some way or another? Somebody had to build the buildings he owns, they got paid. Others work in his casinos and they get paid.
Liberal dipwads still cuss Ronald Reagan and his "trickle down" policies but it worked very well. The rich, the Donald Trumps, the Bill Gates, the Steve Jobs, the movers and shakers in our country, have provided more jobs and created more wealth than any gooberment official ever known to man. The money trickles down to everybody willing to work for it.
After reading about Chris Christie's open border ideas and things, I wouldn't be too happy about him as President. The nation's bank account would look a bit better, though. And hopefully people won't be pushing for Sarah Palin. I'd be surprised at this point if she'd want to take the pay cut anyway.
That was a disturbing twist from him after everybody here getting the vapors listening to him speak. I like the way he handles the libs, unions and putzes but if he is unaware of the threat posed by the men of the religion of peace or if he chooses to coddle them, those are total buzz kills. Same with the narcoterror from south of the border. Allen West seems fairly capable of handling himself in a debate without teleprompting and Paul Ryan could talk circles around the current occupant as well, but that whitebread college freshman look might not work against the smarmy foreigner appeal. We gotta come up with somebody.
Why do you think the media is pushing these generic Republicans? Because they are generic. Part of Obama's win in 2008 was the fact that he was so un-generic. And let's face it. McCain was, well, kind of generic. The media want Obama to stay in office, so they're going to cloud the conservative candidates in a sea of genericness.
At this point I think the vast majority of America would rather have a 'generic' candidate that can produce an authentic birth certificate, school transcripts, and proof that they weren't raised in an elitist/pro-Marxist/pro-socialist/pro-Muslim/libtard/race baiting/anti-American environment of shadiness.
Hell... I'll bet the vast majority of America would rather have a 'generic' candidate that can answer a simple question without having a teleprompter to give him the answer.
You are wrong! Why do you think the Obummer got elected? Because people are tired of the "geriatric" politicians, or generic if you prefer, politicians.
We need a Sarah Palin, a Gary Johnson, an Allen West or Chris Christie. We conservatives need a new face, some fresh blood, to run for all elected offices. Local, state, national, it makes no difference, we need a lot of new people elected to our top offices! People that believe in America and the American citizen instead of sucking up to all despots around the world in the name of "unity".
Yep...
"Why do you think the Obummer got elected?"
I'm aware that their are still plenty of unicorn riding progs, dumbo-crat zombies, brain dead libtards, gubba-mint sponges, unionist komunards, immature children, and just plain stupids who cast a vote based on the American Idol mentality approach to selecting public servants...
But as for those who were in between, like the old saying goes, "Fool me once..."
Whiskey, I agree with you. All I'm saying is that I would like to think the vast majority of people who got fooled the last go round have realized their mistake of voting for Obongo and his merry band of libtard/progs and won't do it a second time.... Kind of like the 'Great Awakening' America felt after the four disastrous years of the 'Peanut Farmer & Co.'...
We need another Reagan regardless of the form they take; be it West, Palin, or any of the Stalwart Conservatives.
Agreed...
How about Batman versus Joker?
Sadly I would prefer the Joker as President than Obama right now.
Ditto!
