Joan Walsh has done a remarkable job of making herself look completely unqualified to work on network television. She’s racking up a series of idiotic quotes that, if continued, will merit her a personalized section in Roget’s Thesaurus.
She showed up with Michael Steele on the Chris Matthews show and hilarity ensued. Well, Steele was, admittedly, the only one who found Walsh’s comments funny, but he found them very funny.
Walsh: Well, right. Well, Reagan was very much a conservative, and I didn’t agree with him on much, but he was a pragmatist and a compromiser. And the fact of the matter is, Chris, I heard my friend Michael talk about the Constitution and the Tea Party likes to talk about the Constitution and the Founders, but the fact is the Founders didn’t agree on very much at all.
Steele: Right.
Walsh: The Founders argued about a lot of things, and they created a system in which we had to talk to one another and had to compromise. This President, President Obama, who I don’t always agree with either, is actually the Reagan figure here.
Steele: [Laughs]
Walsh: He is the person saying…
Matthews: Why are you laughing?
Walsh: …you know what, I’m going to disappoint some folks.
Steele: Okay. [Continues laughing]
Walsh: Please don’t laugh at me, Michael. I didn’t laugh at you.
Matthews: Why are you laughing, Michael?
Steele: When you say something funny, I’m going to laugh.
Matthews: Why’s it funny?
Walsh: Why’s it funny?
This exchange explains the theory behind IHateTheMedia.com in a nutshell: The left can’t stand being laughed at.
In this case, we can’t figure out which they like least: Being laughed at or being unable to figure out why they’re being laughed at.

Joan Walsh is so damn stupid, she thinks asphalt is a butt disease.
LOLOLOL
This President, President Obama, who I don’t always agree with either, is actually the [Carter] figure here.
There - fixed it for her.
Hopefully come 2012 we will have another Reagan figure and the comparison cycle will be complete.
Indeed: I've heard it said many times that it took a Carter in order to bring us a Reagan. If that's so, then we're due some seriously fantastic Presidential karma after Barry's left the White House.
that's a good fix.
Liberals HATE to be laughed at and mocked. They are largely humorless. They own late night television comedy. They own Hollywood. And so they laugh at and mock Dan Quayle, George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Christians and conservatives. It became a running joke how the late night liberals wouldn't tell any jokes about Obama for the longest time. I think one of the reasons they hate Ann Coulter so much is that she has the skills of a comedian. She makes them look silly and they know it. A few years ago Leno had Coulter on as a guest. Before bringing her out Leno said that he had received a hundred e-mails from people saying they would never watch him again if he had her on. They brought her on after the atheist comedian George Carlin who Leno said was making his 140th Tonight Show appearance. Carlin was respectful of Coulter though and didn't mock her. A couple of weeks ago Leno had Bristol Palin on to promote her new book. She was brought out after insult comedian Don Rickles who sat there rolling his eyes and mocking her. Rickles insulted Sarah Palin by saying that if she ran for President she "might lose!" Even when a conservative makes a rare appearance on a late night talk show, they have to have a liberal there to mock and insult. Why don't they bring Larry the Cable Guy out before Al Gore and see how that goes?
Granted, but then again, Rickles does that to everyone. It's his job. Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWg8kDt7hiQ Granted, it was too little, too late, but he DID ridicule Obama.
Reagan: 8 years - Beats back Communists, restores faith in America, gets economy back on track, rebuilds the military, makes us a world leader.
Obama: 2.5 years - The opposite of above.
Thread over!
I'm all for compromise. But let's do it with somebody else's property for a change.
All this yapping about spending cuts is a sick joke. Since the end World War II has there been one year year when federal spending as gone down?
Dana Milbank in his or her July 19 column makes the same silly case about Democrats and Reagan.
"After he switched to the Republican Party in 1962, Ronald Reagan famously quipped: “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The party left me.”
"Now, the Republican Party is doing the same thing to him — and Democrats are happy to take Reagan back."
Milbank talks about Reagan lifting the debt limit 18 times during his tenure. But Milbank neglects to mention that President Reagan biggest regret is that he was not able to control the growth of government more effectively. So stick that tidbit in your "I Heart Reagan" Democrat crackpipes.
PS. If you are a Democrat stick the crackpipe up your ass.
PPS. From the picture on Milbank's column I'm pretty sure Milbank is a guy. But I could be wrong.
Steele pulled one out of his hat, that’s for sure. The guy’s been under fire lately and that should help him some. These clowns jammed legislation down the one way street for two years and now that they can’t, they want to compromise. Barry is just like Reagan they chant. Didn’t Barry say he would veto the cap and balance bill if it made it to his desk? How Reaganesque of him. These are the same people that WERE telling us how crappy Reagan was while on their mega trillion dollar spending spree. Same people said it took Bill Clinton years to undo the mess Reagan left him. Now they hope the American people are stupid enough to think this arrogant little son of a tick, man wanna be, is trying to be what he promised he would be during the elections? The great unifier?
The tea is in the harbor and the people are revolting. What you gonna do now King George, oops, I mean ObamaPelosiReid?
Maybe they mean Obama is like Ron Reagan, Jr.? 'Cause I could totally see that...

I like how Laura Ingraham calls him "Non Reagan"
The adopted child is more of a Reagan than that other boy will ever be.
You know, I used to get offended at how the media always has to point out that an adopted child of a celebrity is adopted, even if it's not immediately obvious (think of Angelina Jolie's clan). It seemed to differentiate somehow between adopted and biological children, when (good) adoptive parents don't make that distinction themselves.
Yes, I'm adopted. I have two brothers who are the biological children of my adoptive parents. My parents never distinguished between us because of that (although don't get me started on how they treated me differently because I was a daughter).
I bring this up because I think Michael Reagan is a fantastic argument in favor of nurture rather than nature. :) I wonder if it bugs him that people still, constantly, bring up the fact of his adoption (I'm not picking on you, KQ: everyone does it).
I don't know. I don't think it's something to be ashamed of, but neither do I think it's something that ought to be hung around your neck for your whole life. It's part of who I am, but it doesn't define me.
The point that I was making was positive. I hope everyone understands that. I am sure that many adopted children, especially in situations where the parents did not make a distinction between children, would prefer that not to be a defining issue in their lives. I think that is valid. He (MR) has actually spoken to that issue himself many times. However, he knows that he will speak of this issue for the rest of his life, and it doesn't have to be a negative issue at all. Adoption is awesome, people should welcome more children into their homes even if they are able to give birth. In many important ways, I am also able to describe myself as an adopted child, and I don't mind that being a defining moment in my life, and I certainly don't mind speaking about it. I definetly know what is like to know and what it feels like when a genetic parent wants nothing to do with me and for someone that is not a genetic parent to care for me and my needs. I think that is all positive too though as I gained great appreciation for humans' ability to love unconditionally. That is actually a great thing for me to emulate and perhaps in time provide to my own children.
Alas, we live in a world where we live through descriptions. Without descriptions we are not able to navigate the world. Sometimes some descriptions are unnecessary or else bothersome (and negative) like how I have to constantly explain to people how come I am visibly black yet I don't "sound black". I have to describe myself for their benefit even though (not all the time though) the need of the person to describe me is actually racist even if they are not aware of it. However, we do need to describe our world and people and it doesn't always have to be negative and when it is turned negative by some a**hole, it can be turned into a positive like Michael Reagan always does. His life is all good and his brother's life is all bad, he is awesome, his brother is not. So some a**hole wants to bring the fact that he is adopted as a negative, M. Reagan can turn that around, because his life is awesome and the a**hole's life is probably not awesome at all.
That's pretty much because Michael didn't spring from Nancy's loins...bad genes there!
Hehe, beautiful! That's what they've been trying to tell us and our one track minds are stuck on Ronald!
Ok, now THAT is funny
Whew!!! Just blew coffee through my nose after reading that one!
I love the look of astonishment on Walsh's mug. Clueless imbecile.
The only similarities that I can note on Obama is that he is a carbon-based homo sapien. Other than that, he is about as far away from Reagan as we are to the sun.
"Don't laugh at me" stomps foot. "I don't laugh at you" crosses arms and sticks out tongue.
Typical leftie immature box of rocks.
