New York Senator Chuck Schumer is this close to having a tizzy fit. This close. The Democrat is irate that New York City’s population barely budged in the last ten years.
The New York Daily News has the details:
Sen. Chuck Schumer called on the federal government Saturday to probe the 2010 U.S. Census’ finding that New York City had grown by a mere trickle.
“These numbers cry out for investigation,” Schumer said, adding his voice to a chorus of critics, including Mayor Bloomberg, who have railed against the decennial count.
“I’m going to put a lot of pressure on them to do it,” he said. “For the census director to just shrug his shoulders … isn’t good enough.”
The U.S. Census reported that the city grew by 166,855 over a decade to 8.175 million despite a Census estimate last year that reported the city was home to 8.3million people.
Schumer called for the investigation in a letter to U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves.
Oh, yeah, this should be a fascinating investigation as Schumer delves into whether a Democrat President and a Democrat House of Representatives and a Democrat Senate and a Democrat Census Director all conspired to shortchange a Democrat stronghold.
We would propose that there’s a perfectly logical explanation as to why New York City fell short of earlier census estimates: If you had a Congressmen like Anthony Weiner and Charlie Rangel and a senator like Chuck Schumer, wouldn’t you consider moving somewhere else, too.

Hey Schmucker! You want to know where all the Democraps from NYC went? Visit Rio Rancho, New Mexico and you can visit with people that speak New Yorker. Then, take them back with you 'cause we don't want them here.
People from back east move here because of lower taxes and more affordable living. Then they try to get laws passed that will raise our taxes and the cost of living here! What kind of crap is this? Easterners move here to get away from the overbearing governments in their former state of residence, then want to change things in my home state so it resembles the city or state they left to begin with?
Come on down Schummer, Schimmer, Smuckers, whoever you are, and take your flock back home with you. They are quickly wearing out their welcome around here.

Chucky must be feeling the heat of an upcoming election and needs to find those NY City voters so he can keep his cushy senate seat. That way he can see his ugly mug on TV. Other wise he might have to actually get a real job and do an honest days work.
Chucky, check your tax rolls and see where all the people have gone.

I'm beginning to like this Bloomberg fella more and more. First the gun regulation changes and now this. It really shows that he's getting involved in improving the New York citizens' lifestyle. Agreed with LASunsett on the tax issue. There are huge expenses of living in New York and it can't continue like that. Maybe the mayor will have some future plans for this as well? We shall see.
I don't suppose Chuck Schmuck would begin to consider that NY state's oppressive taxation would account for people leaving the city for NJ, or all points south where taxes are being lowered.
If I were Chuckie, I'd be more concerned that after graduating law school and spending my entire life as a politician, I should know the three branches of government and less about whether or not there is s sinister plan to screw Dems.
