Michelle Obama named to Vogue’s best dressed list. No, seriously.

The people at Vogue are still drinking the Kool-Aid. In fact, they’re swilling it. Need proof? How about the fact that they just named Michelle Obama to their Best Dressed of 2010 list.

The people at Vogue are still drinking the Kool-Aid. In fact, they’re swilling it. Need proof? How about the fact that they just named Michelle Obama to their Best Dressed of 2010 list.

They introduced the list with this gag-inducing, overwritten, under thought out prose:

Whether it’s sleek chic or cyberfantasy, silver-screen Hollywood glamour or Holly Woodlawn camp, whether it’s East End edge or East Egg flapper dazzle, from head (artful marcel waves, tumbled-out-of-bed tousle, or candy-floss high-rise) to toe (ballet slippers with dirndls or platforms with ball gowns), the ten individualists whom Vogue celebrates as the Best Dressed of 2010 are gamely rewriting the rules. Or rather, showing us all that there are no rules beyond staying true to oneself.

Let’s get serious, Vogue.

We were expecting another story like this to come along sooner or later, so we’ve been collecting recent photos that more accurately reflect Michelle Obama’s sense of fashion when she’s truly “staying true to herself.”

Jackie Kennedy she ain’t. In the above photo, Michelle stays true to herself by digging for gold in front of the Indonesian Prime Minister.

“Impartial” author of Michelle Obama Vogue article hosted fundraiser for the future president

michelle_obama_vogue_coverWhat’s this world coming to when you can’t trust Vogue magazine to be impartial?

Turns out that cover story featuring Michelle Obama in fancy-schmancy designer fashions was written by editor-at large Andre Leon Talley. And it turns out Talley also hosted an $1000 per plate fundraiser for Barack Obama along with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and designer Calvin Klein.

“With her long, lean, athletic frame, she moves as if she could have danced with Alvin Ailey in another life,” the article gushed. “Curled up in the corner of a huge taupe velvet sofa, wearing knee-high boots as she nestles into the cushions, she almost seems like any other mom recently relocated to a city because of her husband’s new job.”

We’re thinking of starting a new website. Does anyone know if “IHateButtKissingFashionMagazines.com” is available.

How much of that trillion dollar stimulus package is going toward Michelle’s wardrobe?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gRnWbHyhckDuring the presidential campaign the media said Michelle Obama was just an average gal who found her neat, but inexpensive wardrobe by picking through the racks at Target like any other working mom.

But after the election was over, the truth came out. Michelle dumped Target in less time than it took Barack to dump tax-dodgin’ Tom Daschle.

The latest issue of Vogue features the new first lady on the cover and in a photo spread modeling a black dress by Narciso Rodriguez and a magenta dress by Jason Woo (who also designed her inaugural ball gown). All the outfits would have been taboo before November 5.

“I’m not going to pretend that I don’t care about it,” the First Lady said. “But I also have to be very practical. In the end, someone will always not like what you wear — people just have different tastes.”

Now we understand why Juan Williams caught so much flak for calling her “Stokely Carmichael in a dress.” He should have said, “Stokely Carmichael in a Jason Woo.”
