There is some immense disconnect between American media and British media. While the American media swoons at the feet of Barack Obama, the British media has been writing about his feet of clay.
Here’s the UK Guardian’s scathing review of one of the President’s British news conferences:
Barack Obama, the World’s Greatest Orator (™all news organisations), didn’t exactly cover himself in glory when the BBC’s political editor Nick Robinson asked him a question about who was to blame for the financial crisis. Normally word perfect, Obama ummed, ahed and waffled for the best part of two and a half minutes. Here, John Crace decodes what he was really thinking…

Can we just get one thing straight in the new America which is now a country whose media is LYING TO US? Sort of like Cuba? The British and Canadians are writing THE best truthful pieces on obama yet....brutally honest and obviously NOT fawning over him like our media'd like us to believe. German journalists (we read the German and French every morning here on line) call him an 'empty suit' and France, too, is NOT BESOT.
But, Americans believe what our media's saying about what Europe's saying! Sort of along the same lines that our media has never told America that HEALTH CARE IS NOT FREE IN GERMANY! We seem to never be able to correct that idiotic salvo.......so, maybe Americans will always think "EUROPE LOVES OUR MESSI-DUH" I hope not.
