The Pope, not so much.
Time.com has the details of Bruni’s schism with the Catholic church:
Ahead of President Sarkozy’s 30-minute audience with the Pontiff earlier this month, Vatican officials sent the French ambassador a message saying:
“Carla Sarkozy is not welcome in the Vatican.” The message, which led her to stay in Paris, is said to be over the Pope’s fears that more racy photographs of her days as a catwalk model would emerge. Nude and semi-naked pictures from her days as a model are regularly published in the media. In one, she’s seen posing in just a pair of knee high boots and a diamond ring. (The U.S. didn’t seem to mind.)
President Sarkozy set up the meeting with the Pope after polls showed his popularity rating with French Catholics had fallen from 61% to 47% in the past year. Although raised a Catholic himself, Sarkozy is twice divorced and his current wife has an illegitimate child. The Elysée Palace in Paris had no comment on why the first lady stayed in Paris for the Vatican trip.

Yes, I can just see editor trying to get Bruni to confess. While sitting on his lap. The first phrase out would be a heavily french-accented "for what is the Crisco?"
I suppose the correct pastoral phrase in a confession is not "keep a-wiggling, Carla, I'm almost there.", but again, not a Catholic, what would I know?
You are so, so wrong. In honor of Carla's Italian heritage, the Crisco would be replaced by olive oil.
Olive oil is awesome for the skin. With that said I hope Mrs. Editor is not around to read this, because she could break the olive oil bottle on your head and that will be painful.
She's a notoriously bad shot from a distance and I never turn my back on her when she's close by.
A few lessons with me and Mrs Editor will be able to hit any target with any object from any angle.

For whatever reason, I have a hard time believing that the Carla Bruni was banned from the Vatican just because risqué photographs of her keep being published. It's just a hunch of mine, but I suspect there is something else to this story that we haven't heard.

Given that Carla Bruni was welcome at the Vatican in 2008, it seemed fishy that she would be banned now.
That was before Moochell was around. Its hard to have a President's wife show up who has an a$$ one quarter the size of The Anointed One's wife's a$$.

Not sure he does, but the Catholic church has issues, & has'nt really done it's best to purge the pedos & kid touchers. They should turn them in, period, end of story.
