Why can’t Johnny read? Because his friggin’ teacher can’t read. Someone should make this moron stay after school and write the word “are” one thousand times. Unfortunately, the three R’s have now become reading, ‘riting, and retirement funding.

I'm embarrassed for the young lady.
Don't worry, my daughters are smart enough to stay away from your kids. I teach them to celebrate liberty. Now, since you are such a good conservative, explain why you didn't exercise your civic responsiblity to vote for McCain or Dole. Or are you explaining that one day, as you got ready to shave your pathetic face, back to your unfulfilling job as assistant fryer chef at the slopshoot, you discovered that you are just a put upon minion to the man. A poor sad sack victim of some corporate Daddy Warbucks. Trapped by your lack of opportunity and financial insignificance, you decided that 250,000 is the magic Republican line you could never cross. With your epiphany, and the 12 dollars you had left after putting 20 bucks into your 98 Ford Probe, you went to the dollar store, picked up a stick, a piece of poster board and a couple sharpies and became a liberal. It is an inspiring story. Really, but you know, I don't make anywhere near 250,000 a year either. I do feel good voting for conservative candidates. But then again, my organization understands value for the dollar, as we receive 6 percent of the overall funding, but provide 15 percent of the overall product. We must do it fairly well, because if we performed at the standard of the Wisconsin or US public school teachers, Americans would all be speaking arabic, poorly.
If by intelligent you mean confused, propagandized poorly educated and misled, then true, both you and Paul are the most "intelligent" posters on this thread.
You are making Mao proud. Now, step away from the the bong and get back to knitting those hemp sandals for the commune!
Paul is the most intelligent poster on this thread. His analysis of the wording on the sign makes sense. Perhaps a slash between Our and My would have helped some who were confused to understand the meaning. "Unions Our / My Cup of Tea." And anyone on here who makes less than $250.000 a year and is against allowing public workers to negotiate does not know how to speak and stand for his or her own self interest. The elite do not care about you and it is only by standing together that the workers, the masses, have gained anything historically. Please wake up and take a stand in your and our interest. "Our" and "my" and "your" interest.
Hey geniuses, read the sign more carefully! Wait, I better explain it to you simpletons.
1. There is no evidence that this person is actually a teacher! There are many thousands of people protesting that are not teachers, in fact, the majority that you see are not teachers!
2. If you will notice, MY is written bigger than all the other letters, that is because the sign has dual sayings! Unions Our cup of tea! and Unions My cup of tea! There are lots of signs that you have to read a few times to understand! That is their purpose, that is the whole purpose behind this protest! To make people THINK about what Walker is trying to do! Read the bill, have informed discussion! Something Walker does not want us to do! Because the more people read it, the less anyone likes it!Now about the pay of the public sector. Lets compare McDonald's workers with your job (providing you are not a McDonald's worker). The average McDonald's worker gets paid less than $10.00 per hour and NO Benefits. How much do you get paid? Why should you make more than them?
Next compare the average private sector worker (who have less than an average of less than 2 years of higher ed) to the average public sector worker (who have on average well over 4 years of higher ed)...
Next lets compare a Granny Smith apple to a tangerine. Why are Granny Smith apples so much harder to peel than a tangerine?
You see, comparing "the average private sector employee" to the "average public sector employee" is not a fair comparison at all! Compare a "private sector" nurse, to a "public sector" nurse. Compare a "private sector" employee with a 4 year degree, with a "public sector" employee with a 4 year degree. Then let us know how it comes out! Or you could read this
http://www.cbpp.org/files/2-24-11sfp.pdf Learn the facts for yourselves if you really care about an issue. Remember Fox News Lies and Rush and many other of the media outlets (including both right and left) should not be trusted! Find factual information and then make up your own mind! That's what I did! And now there is one less Republican voting person out there!
1. I bet that you could find one handy that would have enough sense to realize how truly stupid the sign makes them appear. After all, it is a teacher's union/union thug thing. Surely they could find someone competent enough to want to show that they *ought* to be trusted with educating students. Or maybe not.
2. Go ahead, and try to force it into making sense. Any idiot reading the sign recognizes that they are saying "UNIONS OUR MY CUP OF TEA". Apparently, you magically rearrange the words to make sense. I didn't know that it was an anagram contest. I thought it was just a stupid sign. Clever! Here's my offering: "A Comfier Upon Nuts You". Or maybe, just maybe, you're more stupid than just any idiot.
As to your class bigotry in the form of a little friday after school special version of a socialist diatribe that follows... Not all that impressive, with the exception of your ad hominem call to ignorance about ignoring other sources of information because "Fox News Lies". How are we supposed to know *when* they are lying? When they repeat whatever the rest of the media says?
I really enjoy your bit about "read the bill" -- was that what Eric Holder and Barry did when they decided to sue over SB1070? How about the freaking health care bill -- apparently the lib congress didn't read that, either, and that was their f*cking responsibility!!! Remember Nancy saying "we'll have to approve it to find out what's in it?!? Didn't that raise any warning flags?
Didn't think so -- you're a sheep, and sheep do what they're told and believe what they're told to believe. They'll tell you to read this, don't read that, hate these people, don't listen to those people and that's how you handle it. Sorry that the only way you will find out what an abbatoir is is while you're headed down the chute.
The reason that you count yourself as one less republican is because you never were a republican. I don't know what you were, but a republican isn't one of the options.
One thing you got right, I thought I was conservative and voted for Reagan, Bush 1 and 2, and Walker. Boy was I an idiot, I just finally realized that if you don't make over $250,000 you are not a Republican!
And I imagine you are one of the believers that there are Palm trees in Madison, Wisconsin! I didn't see that one on any other station!
And for your information, teachers make up less than those affected by this bill! Even Fox had that one right! This bill affects much more than workers too. This bill and Walker's proposed budget both attack the middle and low income people, while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest. Corporations last year enjoyed record profits, but not by creating jobs! No they made it by reducing their employees pay, and from tax breaks! Now he is giving corporations that don't pay any taxes, a tax break! In other words he his giving them taxpayer money! And all of that has been reported on almost all the new channels, except Fox.
Have a Great Day!
Those aren't palm trees, those are brick columns. Look at the one on the left and you'll see that it curves outward. Then if you examine the other two columns, you'll see the same kind of forward curvature (it's easier to see on the leftmost column that the others because there are no windows blocking the view of the curvature).
Hogwash. Didn't see any palm trees in this picture -- just a lot of coats, and a lot of dim bulbs out there trying to pretend that if you keep writing checks, you're not broke, and if the bank tries to put a stop to it, it must be Bush's fault, or the fault of the governor left holding the bag from the previous administration.
As to your unbroken string of votes for Republican candidates -- you forgot one. McCain. Didn't vote for him, I see. Who'd you vote for, mister 'I used to be a republican but now I have won the victory over myself, and now I love Barack'?
See, I don't believe you. It isn't just your spiel with all the lovely exclamation points, as if they would sub in for logic. Well, wait. It is. If you want to be successful trolling on discussion boards, you'd have to convey your thoughts with *ideas* in order to be believable, not inappropriate and childish punctuation. The last time I read something with that many exclamation points, it was a note being passed between two 9 year old girls, and involved My Little Pony.
See, you have no idea what's going on, and your pretending to be something you're not is painfully obvious to the real thing. All the exclamation points in the world can't fix that.
I never said that I voted in all elections, did I? As far as the palm tree, I was referring to the Fox "News" piece that they tried to pass off as being from Madison. In case you didn't know, exclamation marks are used when making a point! As far as your other remarks, I only try to educate people on the facts. And yes, I do know what is going on, I have read the bill completely, actually a few times! Have you? And don't include my children in with yours, mine can read!
He forgot Bob Dole too...love when the faux Repubs show up. Don't even recall who was running for the office.Paul-A Thanks for explaining the sign, perhaps with the double entrendre, you can explain where the comma is, which makes your explanation plausible. Must be a publik skuul English teacher. No wonder our children cannot read.
I have a better anagram!
"Confine a tumor, you pus!"
That's just plain awesome!
baha retard. You'd think one of the attending teachers would have pulled her aside and said something. Chances are none of them caught it.
Fun fact from my state - Two-thirds of the eighth graders in Wisconsin public schools cannot read proficiently according to the U.S. Department of Education, despite the fact that Wisconsin spends more per pupil in its public schools than any other state in the Midwest.
If you can phonetically sound this out, thank a teacher!
"hook-ed ahn pa-howniks work-ed fer meh!"
An old friend used to quote that frequently...and I believe I've seen it made into a t-shirt as well.
All this teacher/union bull**** makes me grateful to have been home-schooled. When I have kids, I might just end up home-schooling. Thank the Lord on High that it's still legal in this country. I doubt it will ever be illegal, but who knows. With the insanity that has been happening one can not know what's next, but only hope.
Just a basic question - foreign to most Fox viewers - but did anyone bother to fact check that that was a teacher before jumping to conclusions?
What constitutes a 'fact check' to you libs never fails to amuse me. Let's see, invoking Godwin's Law, how would this have played out in '42?
"Hey, Mr. Goebbels? I hear that we're doing atrocious things to Jewish people. That true?"
"No."
"Oh. OK. No problem. Let me just go out and contradict everyone saying otherwise."
Maybe you guys have some kind of random phrase generator that substitutes stuff like "Bush's fault", "The rich are getting away with something", "America bad, Islamonazis good", "Republicans are stupid/evil", "It's Big [Oil|Pharma|other scapegoat]'s fault" for any particular phase you find objectionably close to the truth. After all, it is best when you have no argument and have nothing useful to say, to change the subject.
The "Bush's fault" one is particularly humorous -- Barry is channeling Bart Simpson by saying "It was like that when I got here". ROFMLMAO. How come the worst offenders (sour economy, high unemployment, sh*tty world situation) are *still* like that, then? Can't ride on Dubya's coattails forever, you know. Maybe you can find you some new scapegoats and keep on ducking responsibility for the shit your leadership is doing.
The “Bush’s fault” one is particularly humorous - You find it humorous that people correctly blame Bush for one of the worse episodes of Treasury fraud and robbery in the history of this country. When the Republicans (Wall Street/Corporate CEOs/Bankers) knew that "Barry" was going to win the election (circa September/October 2008), they sent in Paulson to "get the money" which Bush was eager to facilitate. Then in comes Barry after he wins (surprise, surprise) to shovel this pile of horse manure that Bush and his boys left behind, and you are annoyed because Barry isn't shoveling it up fast enough for you. What an idiot you are!
If you think that all this union busting is about teachers and teachers pay or public servants versus private sector employees, you are truly retarded. Keep believing whatever Fox and Rush and Beck tell you and when you are begging for soup on the soup lines that are surely coming, maybe you will reflect on these misguided rants of yours.
Bush's fault? Read this - http://www.redstate.com/moe_lane/files/2010/09/economic-reality.pdf. Would you get a load of all those signatures? Can you say financial meltdown brought about by billions in bad mortgages as demanded by a democrat congress? Can ya?
It is possible to make educated guesses based on the presented facts. It is something that adults do, but since you are a child I guess it makes sense that you are so ignorant.
You know, just call it a hunch, but I bet there were plenty of teachers handy.
Unless this protest was done the way the Carpenters' Union does -- hires homeless people to do their picketing.
Really? That's your defense here? In the midst of a protest by teachers and for teachers, you're going to question whether this woman is a teacher? And somehow, that serves as an indictment of Fox News? At the very least, the woman and her sign are guilty by association. And since she wasn't wearing a name tag or her membership card (the "union label"), how exactly are we to find out who she is? Unlikely she's going to fess up on her own, and equally unlikely that her fellow teachers would rat her out. Not so much jumping here, more like grasping...at straws.
who said that is a teacher. Oh yeah Wisconsin schools are tied for 2nd with Iowa I think that speaks louder then a dumb sign
I posted this link to FB and got this conversation going:
One of my friends:
If you hate the public school teachers so much......put your kids in private school and pay for it yourself! I'm sure the majority of people opposed to teachers getting paid a living wage and having benefits as incentives to teach our child...ren, are those of you that attended public schools yourself. Looks like the majority get a well rounded education. Teachers are not stupid!!! I'm sure that person was planted there by the right wing anyway.....cuz thats the kind of shit they pull. Ask your buddy Walker. He thought about planting troublemakers at the rallies. Don't be so naive and gullable. Who's to say that was a teacher anyway???
me:
When public sector employees make twice what private sector employees make, asking them to contribute more to their pension and health benefits is not unreasonable. The issue is not about the misspelling. The issue is about collective barga...ining against the tax payer and it's going away.
Now, I'm sure when some yokel Tea party member shows up with a poorly written sign, you, of course will be the first to defend them, and insist that they're a plant.
My Friend:
Public sector employees do not get paid more then the private sector in comparible positions...that is simply untrue. Not sure where you're getting your info. Anyway, if a private school pays their teachers less than the public sector...yo...u might want to ask yourself where the money that is paid in tuitions is going? If its not to pay the teachers a living wage and incentives to stay working there....why do they work for private sector? And what makes them any smarter than public school teachers? And who's to say that you even get a better education from a private school?
I work for the state (in a union) and when our wages are considered it is comparible to the private sector and the cost of living and then the benefits are the incentives to keep people working in public service, otherwise there wouldnt be quality employees in the public sector. Most public employees have not seen a raise for the past 5 years, nor are they getting a deal on their health insurance plans. And to make it clear...the benefits are not all that great...i pay into my own pension plan and pay a pretty penny for my own health care.
You must want a bunch of Keystone cops making minimum wage to serve and protect you. And firemen with no experience to put out your fire. How about paying a private company for those services and if you dont pay...your house burns down? I dont understand why the middle class would be against a living wage....why are you against your own best interest? The walmarting of America. I know I dont want to work for minimum wage and live under a bridge. Do you? Lets get rid of the forces that keep our wages reasonable and lets drive down the wages so everyone makes minimum wage...yea yea yea....thats the answer.
me:
I get my news from the government. Public sector employees actually make some 44% more than private sector employees.
"Private industry employers spent an average of $27.42 per hour worked for total employee compensation in December 2009. Wa...ges and salaries averaged $19.41 per hour worked and accounted for 70.8% of these costs, while benefits averaged $8.00 per hour and accounted for the remaining 29.2%.
Total compensation costs for state and local government workers averaged $39.60 per hour worked in December 2009 (including benefits of $13.50 per hour), which was 44.5% higher than compensation for private industry workers."
(here is a link to the report).
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/ecec.nr0.htm
So, with all this money going to teacher's salries, why is it that so few students can barely read or write?
"Only 32 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned a “proficient” rating while another 2 percent earned an “advanced” rating. The other 66 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned ratings below “proficient,” including 44 percent who earned a rating of “basic” and 22 percent who earned a rating of “below basic.”"
(Here is the link to the above pull)
http://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/pubsinfo.asp?pubid=2010458
So, billions spent and millions of public school students can barely read or fill out a job application.
Thats money (taxes) well spent!
There's more, but I will spare you all.
By the way, did you remind your public-sector teacher friend that the word "comparable" is not spelled "comparible?" Just saying ...
GREAT JOB, MY FRIEND! I can back up yer six ...
"[T]he process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service," President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote in 1937 to the head of the National Federation of Federal Employees. In the private sector, organized employees and the employer meet across the bargaining table as (theoretical) equals. But in the public sector, said FDR, "the employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress." Allowing public-employee unions to engage in collective bargaining would mean opening the door to the manipulation of government policy by a privileged private interest.
FDR was right. Collective bargaining has no place in the public sector. It inevitably leads to abuse. Favoritism, undue influence, lack of transparency, manipulation of government policy, the relentless mulcting of the taxpayer—this is the poisoned fruit of turning government agencies into union shops. It goes without saying that public employees ought to be as free as anyone else to join professional associations and affinity organizations. They are certainly entitled to all the protections of the civil rights laws and of a reasonable civil service system. But labor unions should have no right of exclusive representation in any government workplace and no right to negotiate wages and benefits with public officials who crave their votes and political support. Good post Sard! And if these brain dead libs had ever read a history book they would know that FDR was one of the most liberal Presidents ever elected at the time! We have had worse since, the "Peanut President" for one, but none so liberal since.
I find our "liberal friends" are quite eloquent in their historical illiteracy.
Don't go easy on them, Doug. Give it to them straight. I love it. Emotion vs. facts.
Ass kicking post Doug! I totally agree with RHG. Hit 'em where it hurts...between the ears!
