Scratched EV battery? Your insurer may have to junk the whole car

Tesla Model 3 batteries show impressive fire resistance despite damage from high-speed crash ...

Scratched EV battery? Your insurer may have to junk the whole car. Yet more, go woke-go broke. Now EV’s cost more to run than gasoline cars, and now the insurance is going to be higher, not to mention the environmental costs. Another joke foisted upon us by the greentards.

For many electric vehicles, there is no way to repair or assess even slightly damaged battery packs after accidents, forcing insurance companies to write off cars with few miles – leading to higher premiums and undercutting gains from going electric.

And now those battery packs are piling up in scrapyards in some countries, a previously unreported and expensive gap in what was supposed to be a “circular economy.”

“We’re buying electric cars for sustainability reasons,” said Matthew Avery, research director at automotive risk intelligence company Thatcham Research. “But an EV isn’t very sustainable if you’ve got to throw the battery away after a minor collision.”

Battery packs can cost tens of thousands of dollars and represent up to 50% of an EV’s price tag, often making it uneconomical to replace them.

General Motors Funds Transgenderism Efforts in Children’s Classrooms

General Motors Funds Transgenderism Efforts in Children’s Classrooms.  Evidently, General Motors is spending money on a new type of tranny.

General Motors (GM) provided a grant to a pro-transgender organization that supplies kindergarten and elementary classrooms with children’s books that support its ideology.

The Detroit-based automaker made a donation last year to the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s (GLSEN) “Rainbow Library” Program, according to its 2021 Social Impact Report (pdf).

The pro-transgender organization is known for lobbying school districts to allow boys who have undergone sex changes to play on girls’ sports teams and use female-specific restrooms, Breitbart reported.

Man Buys $115,000 Hummer Electric Truck – It Immediately Left Him Stranded in Middle of Road

Man Buys $115,000 Hummer Electric Truck – It Immediately Left Him Stranded in Middle of Road. Sorry GM, we won’t be buying one of these heaps (Or anyone else’s) anytime soon. This would really be exciting. if it happened 30 miles north of Lovelock, Nevada in the middle of nowhere. Out there if you call AAA they laugh and hang up.

After only a few days, and with fewer than 250 miles on the vehicle, the Hummer had problems in spectacular fashion. Alone on a busy highway, Mica found himself stranded.

The Hummer ceased to budge.

The shifter wouldn’t move. The trunk refused to open.

And then there is the simple matter of recharging the battery. Something that under some conditions may take days to build up for the Hummer EV.
