Rivian recalls nearly ALL of its 13,000 electric vehicles over loose fastener that may cause drivers to lose control at the wheel. If you wait long enough, the nut is loose behind the wheel is now true.

  • Rivian is recalling 13,000 vehicles over loose fasteners that may cause drivers to lose control of their steering wheel
  • The company has reported seven issues with the fasteners since August, but no injuries have been documented
  • Rivian expects the issue to be solved within 30 days as it revs up damage control during its third recall since starting production in late 2021
  • Rivian, once expected to rival Tesla in electric vehicle production, has seen its stock shrink by nearly 67 percent since going public this year

Electric vehicles are exploding from water damage after Hurricane Ian, top Florida official warns

Electric vehicles are exploding from water damage after Hurricane Ian, top Florida official warns. Just what we needed, yet another reason not to buy an electric car. On top of high prices, high and rising electricity costs, high charger rates, short range, long recharging times, unreliability, and high battery replacement costs, we now have this!

Man Buys $115,000 Hummer Electric Truck – It Immediately Left Him Stranded in Middle of Road

Man Buys $115,000 Hummer Electric Truck – It Immediately Left Him Stranded in Middle of Road. Sorry GM, we won’t be buying one of these heaps (Or anyone else’s) anytime soon. This would really be exciting. if it happened 30 miles north of Lovelock, Nevada in the middle of nowhere. Out there if you call AAA they laugh and hang up.

After only a few days, and with fewer than 250 miles on the vehicle, the Hummer had problems in spectacular fashion. Alone on a busy highway, Mica found himself stranded.

The Hummer ceased to budge.

The shifter wouldn’t move. The trunk refused to open.

And then there is the simple matter of recharging the battery. Something that under some conditions may take days to build up for the Hummer EV.

The true cost of electric cars batteries

The true cost of electric cars batteries. It’s ridiculous, crazy, insane. stupid, moronic, idiotic. Just like Gavin Newsom’s edict to not sell gas cars in California after 2035. They can’t even keep the power grid going now.

Copper Thieves Are Cutting Electric Car Charging Cables and Stealing Them

Copper Cable

Copper Thieves Are Cutting Electric Car Charging Cables and Stealing Them. Want to charge your electric vehicle? Well, forget about it. The worse the economy gets the more copper thieves will steal.

“They actually cut it while it was charging somebody’s car,” an employee at a targeted business told Motherboard.

The Reno, Nevada area appears to be getting hit particularly hard, according to a report by the local ABC affiliate KOLO. Three local charging stations were robbed recently, including one at a hotel and another at a mall.

US will need to build 478 EV charging ports EVERY DAY for the next eight years at a cost of $35B to meet demand for 1.2M public ports by 2030 (And that’s not counting the 28M needed in homes!)

EV Charging Station

US will need to build 478 EV charging ports EVERY DAY for the next eight years at a cost of $35B to meet demand for 1.2M public ports by 2030 (And that’s not counting the 28M needed in homes!) And this doesn’t include the cost of increasing the power grid dramatically. California can’t keep the power on now during times of high demand.

America would have to install 30 million electronic vehicle charging ports by 2030 if half of drivers switch to EVs by the time California‘s ban on gas cars takes effect.

If half of all vehicles sold are zero-emission by 2030, the country would need 1.2 million public chargers and 28 million private chargers by that year – which a McKinsey report claims would cost more than $35 billion over eight years.

North Carolina Looks to Remove Public EV Chargers, Probably to the Trash

EV Chargers

North Carolina Looks to Remove Public EV Chargers, Probably to the Trash. If you read the entire tirade, the one thing we note is missing is the fact that people don’t want to be subsidizing electric cars, whether it’s free charging or tax credits to buy one.
