Reverend Wright says you’re the bigot

• To understand the Democratic party, perhaps it would be instructional to take a ride in the Wayback Machine. Come with me as we visit a Southern Plantation, circa 1859:

  The plantation is owned, of course, by a rich white male Democrat.

  The planter, as we will refer to him, doesn’t actually know how the plantation runs since his family has owned the plantation for 80 years and he has never had to work in his life. Instead, he has enlisted the help of his white male sharecropping field manager to run the everyday operations of the plantation. The manager, his family, and a large network of local indentured white servants do much of the outside work of the plantation, i.e. bringing crops to market, picking up supplies, acquiring new slaves (not newly imported of course but newly born, the importation allowance having been outlawed some 50 years earlier thanks to the Democrats’ much hated U.S. Constitution).

  Of course, laboring on the actual plantation are the ‘negro slaves,’ most of whom are ‘dark-skinned.’ The ‘light-skinned negroes’ (as Harry Reid calls them) are allowed to work in the planter’s house or around the yard; the jobs are somewhat cushy and allow the ‘light-skinned negroes’ a degree of freedom. It is secretly understood by everyone that the ‘light-skinned negroes’ are the offspring of the plantation owner (or his father, his grandfather, or even his sons – all Democrats).

  In exchange for the relaxed chores, the ‘light-skinned’ negroes (as Harry Reid calls them) are asked to do one thing: They must go out to the slave quarters occasionally, put on their best ‘negro dialect’ (as Harry Reid calls it), and speak to the ‘dark-skinned’ slaves, quelling any rumors of ‘freedom’ or ‘self-reliance’ that might be spreading around.

  These rumors have gotten especially prolific recently thanks to the newly created Republican Party, a group of radical Christians who are determined to fulfill the promise of the U.S. Constitution for every human in America, bar none. If the rumors persist, the Democrat planter has vowed, we will destroy those pesky Republicans with violence if need be.

  Back to the slave quarters, let’s listen in as the ‘light-skinned negro’ speaks to his ‘dark-skinned’ slave brothers in their quarters (I’ve taken the liberty of translating it for you into modern ‘white dialect’ – this is easy, since virtually the same words can still be heard in Democratic speeches and backrooms today):

  “My brothers, I need to tell you about an evil menace that lurks outside the bounds of our communal plantation. That menace is Republicanism. These evil people, pretending to be Christians, are spreading untruths, speaking out about the benefits of freedom and self-reliance. These are all evil lies. We all know from our own experience that our owner is the kindest, most generous plantation owner in all the South. He, and our white managers, have withheld the whip when many of you deserved it – this is done out of kindness. His generosity allows us free food, free housing, and free health care. But, my brothers, you should know that the Republican devils are building up an army of evil hate-mongers who have vowed to come into our heavenly commune, take our owner’s property and capture you, all of you, and take you back to their Northern plantations where you will be tortured and abused. Please believe me brothers, I wouldn’t lie to you, these Republicans are evil, violent, and racist. They claim they want to free you and they make promises that all this land could someday be available to you. But what they don’t tell you is that you would have to buy it with money you don’t have. After all, who is going to give you money if our owner is gone? Think about that my brothers, does it make sense that the evil Republicans would promise you something and expect nothing in return? Of what benefit could your freedom possibly be to them? They would have you believe that they do this out of kindness and respect for all human life. They would have you believe that when each of us prospers, all of us prosper. But how can that be? If one man prospers more than another, think about it my brothers, it must mean he is stealing from the less prosperous men. We know this is true – Hey! You there in the back! Quit looking at the planter’s house and wondering why he is so rich! It’s not your place to question the wealth of our benefactor. Look out there beyond the fields, where the Republicans lurk, they are the evil menace. Not our Democrat master.”

  Of course, we all know what happened after that. The ‘evil Republicans’ succeeded at destroying the plantations and forcing the planter and his managers to free the slaves and pay for all labor going forward. The ‘light skinned negroes’ and white managers were unhappy. For after all, the Republicans had destroyed their home exactly as predicted. But the Democrat planter was angriest of all and vowed revenge.

  For almost sixty years the angry Democrat hid out, meeting with his compatriots under white sheets in the dark of night. Then, as the former slaves died off, the Republicans’ accomplishment was forgotten. Even the Republicans seemed to forget their goal: To fulfill the promise of the U.S. Constitution for every human in America, bar none. The time was ripe for the Democrat to come out of hiding. He took off his sheets and began to meet openly, making new plans to recapture his former position of power, control, and infinite riches.

  The angry Democrat realized that the problem wasn’t the Republicans, the problem was in the written words of the U.S. Constitution itself. And so he set off on a century-long process of degrading, undermining, and transforming the Constitution so that now the Republicans no longer had a document they could point to as an inspiration for freedom. He used many of the same tactics and resources he had used on the plantation. Using his minions to spread words of hate, fear, and jealousy, he amassed unimaginable power. Now the Democrat held a greater position than ever before. Instead of a small plantation of slaves living in communal service to him, he had plans to build a plantation the size of a nation where every man, woman and child was his slave.

  But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. To see that day we would need to take a trip in our Wayforward Machine to reveal what will happen when the U.S. Constitution has been fully destroyed. Stay tuned for the next installment. The future is right around the corner.
