Janet Napolitano finds herself this morning standing in a big pile of something that smells very bad.
Even a leading House Democrat wants to know why the Secretary of Homeland Security chose to issue a report that targets veterans as potential terrorists.
Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said he was “dumbfounded” by the report.
“This report appears to raise significant issues involving the privacy and civil liberties of many Americans — including war veterans,” Mr. Thompson stated in the letter to Napolitano.
“As I am certain you agree, freedom of association and freedom of speech are guaranteed to all Americans — whether a person’s beliefs, whatever their political orientation, are ‘extremist’ or not.”
You know the Department of Homeland Security report is a gross distortion of the truth when someone with Thompson’s solid liberal credentials sees the danger in it.

The far-right wing display on Wednesday was truly a spectacle to behold. A bunch of middle class people who will receive a tax cut under the Obama administration protesting...what exactly? It just goes to show you how confused you far-right wing radical extremists really are when you listen to your Republican overlords. You scream chants of "No taxation without representation." It makes absolutely no sense. We had an election. The people of this country threw the far-right wing out of power and renounced the failed policies of the past years of Republican control of the executive. That's called democracy. It would appear that the far-right wing would rather replace democracy with an authoritarian dictatorship that caters exclusively to the beckoning of a few far-right wing radicals while ignoring the will of the people.
And seriously, kid, don't use words you don't understand. Obama is not a leftist nor is he a socialist. Obama is a centrist (perhaps even center-right) despite what you read on extremist websites and the Fox infotainment channel. The largest single tax cut in US history was passed by the democrats in Congress and the Obama administration in the ARRA. The tax increase only affects those making $250,000 and up and returns the tax rate Clinton era days (you know...those days where we all received 30% returns on investments...). The tax rate is lower than the tax rate under the Republican's Messiah, Reagan. Oh yeah...that's socialism, baby.
The far-right wing Republicans have lost their way. The party is dead except for a few fringe, confused extremists that have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. I'm pointing my finger at you.

The right wing extremists got all abuzz because they are looking for any reason at all to fly off into an impotent rage. If you honestly think that "left wing extremists are sitting in the oval office," I feel sorry for your incredibly skewed perspective of the political spectrum.
The left wing didn't get all abuzz over the issue because there are few radical left wing extremists in the country. The report on radical leftists was short and to the point including issues concerning animal rights and environmental rights extremists and leftist anarchists. However, all you had to do was venture outside on Wednesday of this past week to witness the utter insanity of the far-right wing radicals.

This is NOT an Obama administration report, no matter how the far-right wants to spin it. The reports were authorized by disgraced, former President Bush. There were two reports. One on far-left wing extremism, one on far-right wing extremism.
