Dumb and dumber and dumbest have ratings that are low and lower and lowest. Within days of Keith Olbermann’s departure from MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell, Rachel Maddow and poor Ed Schultz have fallen back behind even CNN’s meager ratings.

Mediaite.com has the details:
On a week marked by a huge international story–and hefty NBC resources committed to telling it–MSNBC marked an unpleasant milestone, dropping to third place across primetime on February 1. In perhaps the most striking defeat for the network, Lawrence O’Donnell, who took over for the departed Keith Olbermann was soundly defeated by CNN’s Parker Spitzer, a show assumed by many to be such a poor performer as to be on the chopping block. On Tuesday night, Parker Spitzer attracted 292,000 viewers 25-54, compared to O’Donnell’s 196,000.
CNN newcomer Piers Morgan, whose show Piers Morgan Tonight has had several ups and downs in its first two weeks, finished strongly ahead of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow (327,000 to 260,000). Morgan broke from single-interview format to cover the Egypt story live, and interviewed former British prime minister Tony Blair.
MSNBC’s Ed Show, which relocated to 10 p.m. in the new lineup, was nowhere near CNN’s AC 360. Cooper, who’s on assignment reporting from Cairo, led with 344,000 to Ed Schultz’s 180,000.
Somewhere Keith Olbermann is laughing.

OK, the headline says, "MSNBC's slogan says 'Lean Forward', but it's ratings say 'Go Backwords'". I would say that the people have spoken with their cable/satellite remotes by saying "Go Away". In it's current configuration, MSNBC will never be bigger then it was with Olbermann bitching about George W.Bush, night after night during Bush's time in The Oval Office. ComCast will see this soon enough, & they will have to make some decisions. Keep going forward in their current direction, or make the proper changes to make MSNBC a decent source for news & information.
So what we already know {breakdown of US is 18 - 20 % liberals} is borne out by these ratings? KO wasn't the linchpin, he was the train wreck people watched to see if/when he'd implode. Now that that's over, it's a snooze fest.
The battle to have the 300,000 biggest losers on earth seems to be ending with a whimper-I love it!
I noticed in the bankrupt (morally and financially) Minneapolis Red Star and Sickle (Star Tribune) that Keith Olberman "abruptly left MSNBC". Not a word about his being fired. Now, not exactly a lie because he indeed did leave rather abruptly, but far from the real news. Typical reporting from them. Spin spin spin.
Note: I didn't buy the POS but saw it laying open in a McDonalds. (Dont tell Lardass Moosehell I was in a McD's)
Does anyone really need the Minneapolis fishwrap except for the Sunday edition because of the ads? It is 1 of the worst papres in the nation. Being born in the TwinCities, I can honestly say the Red Star & Sickle sucks so bad I've never paid to read it more then a couple of times. But while the St.Paul (I live on the St.Paul side)paper is better, it's not all that good either, & I go online for most of my news.
Agree completely. Pioneer Press is not quite as bad but the only reason I read any paper is for the baseball news and I will occasionally even buy one. PP's sports is waaay better than the Red Star.
Agreed.
Soon it will all be Govt. Subsidized 'Community Television'.
At which point, Ratings will be Banned.
And ALL stations will be required to run the Fox Banner at the bottom left of the screen, regardless of affiliation.
"Ratings? We don't need no stinking ratings."
Truth? We don't need no stinking truth. Just as states with shall-issue CCW laws having the lowest crime rates, Fox tells the truth and gets high ratings. When will the libs notice the correlation? Probably never.
When Olbermann is the linchpin that holds everything together you have built a house of cards.
I'm out of cliches.
The strange thing to me is that these channels don't try to copy the success at Fox, and it shows just how ingrained liberalism is to that whole industry.
Their motto is 'I'll fail pushing this crap no matter what.'
