You know things are bad – very bad – for the Democrats when a lefty outfit like Public Policy Polling announces that Ohioans prefer President Bush over President Obama.
We’ll start rolling out our Ohio poll results tomorrow but there’s one finding on the poll that pretty much sums it up: by a 50-42 margin voters there say they’d rather have George W. Bush in the White House right now than Barack Obama.
Independents hold that view by a 44-37 margin and there are more Democrats who would take Bush back (11%) than there are Republicans who think Obama’s preferable (3%.)
A couple months ago I thought the Pennsylvanias and Missouris and Ohios of the world were the biggest battlegrounds for 2010 but when you see numbers like this it makes you think it’s probably actually the Californias and the Wisconsins and the Washingtons.
There’s not much doubt things are getting worse for Democrats…and they were already pretty bad. Somehow the party base needs to get reinvigorated over the next two months or there’s going to be a very, very steep price to pay.
It’s too soon to declare victory. But it’s not too soon to start checking prices on party supplies if you were thinking of throwing a party in, say, very early November.

@ Ginseng Tea Party.... Since the poll was conducted by the Democratic leaning Public Polling Policy Company, your implication that the election was rigged is null and void. Time to get over it, the era of hope and change is fast coming to a close. And I do mean "fast."
Seeing as how the Ohio Republicans were able to rig an election, it's not the least bit surprising they're able to rig a poll.
What Ohio election was that, GTP? You wanna tell us about it?
We'll start with this:

As long as it's Bill, not Hillary. She seems to be very angry about something.
Yes definetly Bill even though I cannot trust him as far as I can throw him and he disgusts me. I would rather have him back than continue with Obama.
I would even want Clinton back after he turned center. Obama is a plague.
With lies, deceit and corruption they have sown to the wind. Now they are about to reap the whirlwind. And they won't land in Oz.
but who knows who the house will land on top of. Want to start up a pool?
