Biden: “They don’t get us!”

Biden: “They don’t get us!” Kicking off another No-Recovery Bummer with a Howard Dean-like tirade. Or maybe Howard Beale in “Netowrk” – “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” Awesome. From the YouTube comments: “If everyone gets to play by the same rules, I wanna play by Bidens rules and obama’s rules and get rich by runnning off at the mouth about class warfare.”

Obama’s Literary Agent in 1991 Booklet: “Born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii”

Obama’s Literary Agent in 1991 Booklet: “Born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.” This bio was used until April 2007 when Obama launched his presidential campaign, at which point it was changed to say he was born in Hawaii. Well, if the media didn’t bother reading even this much about their “sort of god”, it’s not surprising none of them knew about Barry making fricassee of Fido.

GOP probe uncovers deal between Obama and drug cos

GOP probe uncovers deal between Obama and drug cos. “Three years ago, President Obama cut a secret deal with pharmaceutical company lobbyists to secure the industry’s support for his national health care law.” As always, Obama accuses his opponents of the stuff he himself is doing. Transparency, Obama-style.

Muslims finally win a battle in the culture wars

The lovely (or at least unique) Lady Gaga
Muslims finally win a battle in the culture wars. The largest Muslim nation in the world, Indonesia, has denied Lady Gaga a permit for her sold-out June 3 concert in Gelora Bung Karno stadium. Islamic leaders said the suggestive nature of her show would undermine the moral fiber of the nation. Yes, believe it or not, the Muslims might be right for once. Hey, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

France’s new president marks first day in office with lightning strike

France’s new president marks first day in office with lightning strike. “A presidential jet carrying newly inaugurated French President Francois Hollande was hit by lightning en route to Berlin…” F5 irony warnings have been issued. Hollande was unhurt – the plane returned to Paris and he took off again in a new one.

Obama is a name dropper

Obama drops his name into the other presidential biographies. On whitehouse.gov, that is, for every prez since Silent Cal. Here’s his drop-in on Reagan: “In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule.” We’d also like to drop his name, but into something made of porcelain which flushes.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Remember the 1983 Woody Allen film titled Zelig? It was a pseudo-documentary in which Allen used blue screen technology to insert himself into historical newsreel footage. Perhaps these additions to the other presidents’ biographies were just Obama’s way of paying homage to Allen.

Tip for WaPo: Look into young Joe Biden

Tip for WaPo: Look into young Joe Biden. From “What It Takes: The Way to the White House”, a story of the 1988 presidential election by reporter Richard Ben Cramer: “’Sheriff Joe’ was reportedly involved in a spate of anti-social activities as a child and adolescent, including but not limited to elaborate neighborhood pranks, street brawls, and even an assault on a lowly dorm employee in college.” Like “Dreams from Bill Ayers My Father” another book nobody bothered to read.

Preachers in Baltimore blast Obama for same-sex marriage stance

Preachers in Baltimore blast Obama for same-sex marriage stance. “He has said to his base, African-Americans, ‘I am going against your beliefs and your thoughts,’” Pastor Burns said. “He’s [Pastor Burns] so opposed to same-sex marriage, he told church members he will no longer support the president and now predicts Obama will lose the election because of it.” Backfire.

Warren: Wall Street Fighting A “Guerrilla War” Against Regulations

Warren: Wall Street Fighting A “Guerrilla War” Against Regulations. From the article: “Well, this is about accountability,” Elizabeth Warren said about her call for Jamie Dimon to step down as CEO of JPMorgan Chase. “You know, the banks have been loading up on risk and they don’t want to be accountable. And Jamie Dimon not only is CEO of JPMorgan Chase, he holds this position of public trust, advising the New York Fed on how to regulate risk for these large financial institutions like his own financial institution.” If accountability is the issue we have a much better idea. Let them fail. Let them go out of business. Let them end up in bread lines, soup kitchens and going door to door trying to get work mowing our lawns. Of course a committed corporatist like Elizabeth Warren could never allow for that solution. That gives the power to the market. That gives the power to the consumer. That gives the power to the people. And if that were ever to happen there would be precious little left for her to use in that never ending quest to control our lives.
