Federal court blocks Biden admin mandate forcing doctors, hospitals to offer transgender surgeries

Federal court blocks Biden admin mandate forcing doctors, hospitals to offer transgender surgeries. It’s about time some court got a clue.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on Friday ruled that the Biden administration cannot doctors and hospitals to perform gender transition surgeries against their religious convictions.

Deciding the case unanimously, the court upheld an earlier decision blocking the Department of Health and Human Services mandate requiring hospitals and doctors to offer the procedures.

The Catholic Franciscan Alliance and a group of more than 19,000 healthcare workers petitioned the lower court to block the policy as it would force them to go against their religious convictions.

A FEDERAL APPEALS COURT JUST TOOK A BIG SWING AT PLANNED PARENTHOOD

A FEDERAL APPEALS COURT JUST TOOK A BIG SWING AT PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Well, this should be the capper to Nancy Pelosi’s week.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted an injunction forbidding Texas from stripping Planned Parenthood of Medicaid funds Thursday, while stridently criticizing the abortion provider for its rhetoric and medical practices.

“Planned Parenthood’s reprehensible conduct, captured in undercover videos, proves that it is not a ‘qualified’ provider under the Medicaid Act, so we are confident we will ultimately prevail,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement after Thursday’s ruling.

Appeals court, 2-1, gives Texas OK to use new voter ID law

Appeals court, 2-1, gives Texas OK to use new voter ID law. They should have cameras rolling when someone with a driver’s license pulls up so they can declare they couldn’t get a voter ID.

“The State has made a strong showing that it is likely to succeed on the merits. SB 5 allows voters without qualifying photo ID to cast regular ballots by executing a declaration that they face a reasonable impediment to obtaining qualifying photo ID. This declaration is made under the penalty of perjury,” Judges Jerry Smith and Jennifer Elrod wrote in a joint order Tuesday. “The State has made a strong showing that this reasonable-impediment procedure remedies plaintiffs’ alleged harm and thus forecloses plaintiffs’ injunctive relief.”
