Bobby Jindal recall effort barely fails: Needed 908,000 signatures but fell 907,945 short

An effort begun in January to by unseat Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has flopped, failed, bombed, fallen flat, washed out.

This may go down as the worst recall effort in history. An effort begun in January to unseat Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has flopped, failed, bombed, fallen flat, washed out. Get out your thesaurus, because we’ve run out of words to describe it.

Hope that black power thing's working out for you better than the recall did, Ron

Nola.com has the details:

Ron Ceasar would have needed to gather more than 908,000 verified signatures by early next week to get a recall election against Jindal. Fewer than five dozen have been registered with the Louisiana secretary of state’s office.

“We would need all of them by the deadline set. We have only 55 at present, and the deadline is July 5th,” Sailor Jackson, a spokesman for Secretary of State Tom Schedler, said Friday.

First time we read the story we thought it must have been a typo and was supposed to have read “55 thousand signatures” or “55 percent of the necessary signatures”. But, no, the total number of signatures was a mere fifty five. Period.

No one has ever successfully gathered enough signatures to get a recall election scheduled against a statewide or parishwide official in Louisiana.

A full-time Ph.D. student at Southern University, Ceasar said he and his supporters brought in more signatures than what is on file with the secretary of state’s office, but he acknowledged the recall election won’t happen.

Ceasar operates his own accounting and tax services company. He has a bachelor’s degree and an MBA. In this case, though, the numbers just don’t add up.

Bobby Jindal reminds everyone why he’s a rising star

Here’s the real Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal making everyone remember why he’s a rising star in the Republican party and making everyone forget that regrettable response he gave to an early Obama speech.

Here’s the real Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal making everyone remember why he’s a rising star in the Republican party and making everyone forget that regrettable response he gave to an early Obama speech.

Jindal. Christie. Ryan. Daniels. Pence. Bachmann.

The Reagan legacy is in good hands.

Obama halts sand berm dredging in the Gulf because it’s bad for the environment. Or something.

The Obama administration has demanded that Governor Bobby Jindal stop dredging sand and building off-shore berms intended to keep the oil from reaching shore. The way we understand the government’s logic, stopping that juggernaut of black death from reaching shore just might be bad for the environment. The other option, allowing it to reach shore, is apparently considered better for the environment

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal points the finger of blame directly at the Obama administration

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, the government is at it again.

According to New Orleans’ NBC affiliate WDSU:

The federal government is shutting down the dredging that was being done to create protective sand berms in the Gulf of Mexico.

The berms are meant to protect the Louisiana coastline from oil. But the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department has concerns about where the dredging is being done.

At this point it becomes apparent that ineptitude can only account for part of the President’s lack of actions to save the Gulf Coast. When the administration actively seeks to prohibit measures that could save the coast, it’s clear that some other motivation is at work.

Obviously, Obama hates American people.

Now if we could only get Kanye West to spread the word.

Joe Biden’s blunder of the day

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Hear an investigative report on another of Joe's numerous blunders. Click image to watch.

We’re thinking of making this a daily feature. Because Blunderin’ Joe Biden provides plenty of material.

“What I don’t understand from Governor Jindal is what would he do,” Biden said on the CBS Early Show. “In Louisiana there’s 400 people a day losing their jobs. What’s he doing?”

Then Joe’s fantasy ran smack dab into reality when Shreveport, Louisiana-based KSLA-TV investigated the real situation.

“In December, Louisiana was the only state in the nation besides the District of Columbia — according to the national press release — that added employment over the month,” they reported. “The state gained 3,700 jobs for the seasonally adjusted employment.”

The source of Biden’s information is often mysterious, but it doesn’t match stats from the labor department. At 5.9%, Louisiana’s unemployment rate is far lower than the national average of 7.2%.

Who writes this guy’s material? He’s hilarious.
