Obama now thinks of himself as one of the Founding Fathers

ForeignPolicy.com reports the egomaniacal details:

Obama said Sunday that the United States is still “working on” democracy and a top aide said he has taken “historic steps” to improve democracy in the United States during his time in office.

The remarks came as Obama met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev….

The presidents had a very lengthy discussion of issues of democracy and human rights,” NSC senior director Mike McFaul said on a conference call with reporters Sunday. “Both presidents agreed that you don’t ever reach democracy; you always have to work at it. And in particular, President Obama reminded his Kazakh counterpart that we, too, are working to improve our democracy.”

The Wall Street Journal’s Jonathan Weisman asked McFaul to clarify.

“You seemed to be suggesting there was some equivalence between their issues of democracy and the United States’ issues, when you said that President Obama assured him that we, too, are working on our democracy,” Weisman said. “Is there equivalence between the problems that President Nazarbayev is confronting and the state of democracy in the United States?”

“Absolutely not . . . There was no equivalence meant whatsoever,” McFaul said. “[Obama’s] taken, I think, rather historic steps to improve our own democracy since coming to office here in the United States.”

Nah, no equivalence meant whatsoever. Because while the Founding Fathers actually believed in the Constitution, Barack Obama believes the Founding Fathers were probably sexist and wonders why we don’t also honor the Founding Mothers and Founding Transsexuals.

Obama placates another leftist dictator, pulls plug on electronic message board in Havana

President Obama has ordered the State Department to take down an electronic message board in Havana, Cuba that promoted democracy, because he says that it’s causing friction with the island nation’s Communist dictatorship.

President Obama wants to make sure Cuban citizens aren't bothered by any messages about democracy
President Obama wants to make sure Cuban citizens aren't bothered by any messages about democracy

President Obama has ordered the State Department to take down an electronic message board in Havana, Cuba because he says that it’s causing friction with the island nation’s Communist dictatorship.

And we can’t have that, can we?

Back in 2006, the Bush administration erected the message board in the windows of the American diplomatic mission overlooking Havana’s main coastal highway.

It aimed dangerous, subversive messages at the Cuban people such as “Democracia-en-Cuba” (“Democracy in Cuba”).

The Castro brothers didn’t take kindly to this dastardly talk of democracy. They attempted to block the message from view by draping huge black flags from 100-foot-high flagpoles in front of the diplomatic mission. And if any inquisitive Cubans made the mistake of looking up as they passed the mission, armed guards shooed them along their way.

Kind of like the Black Panthers shooed voters away from that Philadelphia polling place. You know, the Black Panthers the Obama administration has decided not to prosecute.

Ahhh, it all starts to make sense now.
