Religion is being squeezed off PBS but Obama worship will still be encouraged.
PBS likes religion about us much as Barack Obama likes auto executives.
A committee has recommended that PBS boot any affiliate stations that air “sectarian” programming.
The bottom line: Broadcast any religious programming and you’ll lose every PBS program. Sesame Street. The NewsHour. Nova. The Nightly Business Report. Everything.
Believe it or not, PBS has a fairness-and-balance policy, instituted twenty-four years ago, that says affiliates must be noncommercial, nonpartisan, and nonsectarian.
For example, WHUT has notified the Archdiocese of Washington that its “Mass for Shut-Ins” will be cancelled if the policy is approved. Oddly enough, WHUT’s general manager heads the committee that recommended the policy.
We’d have to say that this is noncommercial, nonpartisan, nonsectarian nonsense.
Introducing al PBS' new correspondent in Afghanistan. Or maybe Pakistan.
PBS, the national broadcasting network funded with our tax dollars and your tax dollars and the coerced donations of America’s corporations, has plumbed new depths in its anti-American news coverage.
The network’s WorldFocus program now carries reports from Al Jazeera’s English channel, leading some lawmakers and a lot of citizens to object.
“It is a professional institution but it is a militant institution that wants to convey an ideological Jihadi message,” Walid Phares, a terrorism expert for Fox News, said about al Jazeera.
“My concern is that the American people should be pretty darn upset about the fact that their tax dollars are going to fund this,” said North Carolina’s Republican Rep. Sue Myrick said. “I mean, they’re already upset about what their tax dollars are going to fund, and now they’re funding propaganda.
WorldFocus responded with this statement:
“Though many people who have not seen Al Jazeera English think of it as a propaganda machine for Islamic extremist causes, much of what it produces is not ideological. We also believe Al Jazeera English does sometimes offer us and our viewers a unique perspective from various parts of the world where it has access that others don’t.”
In other news, PBS has announced that it will offer a whole new line of al Jazeera logo items during its next fundraiser. Products include authentic-looking dynamite vests for the dashing about town, stylish burkhas for the liberal lady who wants that chic “international” look, and the much requested “Bush Is Hitler” notepads.
Taxpayer-funded PBS journalist Bonnie Erbe has some advice for Democrats: politicize the 2010 Census, then use the biased numbers to jam pack Congress full of left wing wackos.
“Depoliticize the Census?” PSB “journalist” she wrote in her blog at US News & World Report. “Surely they jest!”
“The Census is part of the spoils of victory for whichever party controls the White House at the turn of each decade,” she added. “Gerrymandering—using Census data to create voting districts that artificially lean toward one end of the political spectrum or the other—is as uniquely an American tradition as Thanksgiving. The thought of trying to depoliticize the census is, well, decidedly un-American.”
Let us now translate Erbe’s concluding sentence.
What she said was, “So gerrymander away with the 2010 Census and spare us the theatrics of trying to look nonpartisan.”
What she meant was, “This could guarantee another generation of funding for the partisan hacks at PBS.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XUveqFZRgwWe were pretty sure Barack Obama was our forty-fourth president. We thought we read that somewhere. But it looks like we were wrong.
Emmy Award-winning commentator John Ridley said Obama’s the first. And this guy works for PBS, so he’s obviously smarter than the rest of us.
“Quite simply, quite plainly, just by virtue of his being,” Ridley idiotically opined, “Obama is America, and the first true American to lead our nation.”
Hey, don’t our taxes support PBS? We want our money back.
