David Axelrod is a rumbled, old political strategist with a wrinkled suit, a bad haircut, a silly moustache and cloud of cigarette smoke hanging over his head. He’s so far from cool that it’s a long distance call.
Nevertheless, Axelrod wants you to know that he knows what cool is. And in David Axelrod’s mind Barack Obama is the coolest of the cool. The hippest of the hip. The grooviest, baby.
Real Clear Politics reports Axelrod’s delusion:
”I find it as cool to be an Obama supporter. Having sat with him for two years is the White House and watched him — watching him work through some very difficult things with a lot of intelligence and grace, equilibrium. I, I have great admiration for him,” Obama’s chief campaign strategist told CNN.
“The people who were participating in the campaign in 2008 weren’t involved n some sort of cult of personality. It wasn’t just about Barack Obama, it was the country and they cared deeply about this country,” Axelrod said in his answer a question about how to make Obama “cool” again.
Well, there you have it. If someone as cool as David Axelrod says Obama is still cool, then cool he is.
In a Bay City Rollers kind of way.

I wonder if Obama will still be cool after we kick his ass to the curb in November 2012?
I'm sure he'll have a full schedule of speaking engagements, at tens of thousands per.
There will be always enough fools in the world to pay to see him pontificate about crap.

Sorry Axelrod, but 'cult of personality' is what Barack is all about (He's a rock star, dammit!).
As far as making him 'cool' again, I suggest a mondo piece of ice...the Mendenhall Glacier sounds like just the place for Captain Zero.
Imagine my relief knowing Obama is still cool. I wish I could have a guy like Axelrod telling me I was cool during my mosdef not-cool high school daze.

I must pull the punch on this one. Any parent who raises a daughter with severe disabilities and still puts his shoes on in the morning gets a pass from me.

Good point. He gets attention from media on that score and he is even considered heroic. However Sarah Palin does not get to be considered heroic for not aborting a Down Syndrome baby. I am down with anyone who does their duty as per their children, I just think it should be the same throughout and it isnt.

I didn't vote for McCain because I thought he was cool. I voted for him because I hoped he might be a bit more competent than Obama. Turns out a Veg-O-Matic is more competent than Obama.
Veg-o-matic is cooler than obama too.
