Now that the government is done studying male Vietnamese prostitutes, drunken Chinese hookers and the sex lives of truck drivers, they’ve decided it’s time to move on to drug addicts.

The U.S. government has spent $410,625 to study the effects of teaching Chinese meditation to cocaine addicts.
“Our clinical experience and pilot studies suggest that Integrative Meditation from Chinese medicine may help clients engage in treatment, reduce cravings/withdrawal symptoms, and increase treatment retention, which appear missed by a typical behavior therapy,” says the official description of the project published by the National Institutes of Health.
What they should really be studying is the idiotic spending in Washington, DC. That’s something that seems to be really addictive.

Just another waste of taxpayer money. When I am elected to Congress in November, this kind of waste is coming to a screeching halt!! It's this kind of wasteful crap that enrages me--and every other hard working tax-paying American. It's one thing to pay taxes, it's another to watch it being wasted by corrupt politicians!
What's with the obsession with Asian people's lives? I don't get it. What is the POINT of this? How does this help the US?
At least this study focused on American drug addicts, using a CHinese method of treatment. In some circles, this meditation is called prayer and has been found to be more effective that standard treatment alone. Better that studying the drug habits of male prootitutes in Vietnam.
A bullet is so much cheaper, not to mention it's a faster cure.
Perhaps we can teach our CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS some behaviour therapy.

Um, never done drugs, but doesn't pot mellow you out? Maybe that would be a better drug choice. That way, he could care even LESS about the US!
