Our modest, self-effacing President went to CIA headquarters on Friday to praise the organization for its work in the bin Laden raid.
Listening to his speech, one might have come away with the mistaken impression that he had personally analyzed the data, flown the helicopter into Bin Laden’s compound, lead the SEAL team into the house, and personally shot the man.
While supposedly praising others, he said the word “I” 35 times.
For example: “I have never been more proud or more confident in you than I am today — not just because this extraordinary success, but because it reminds us of who we are as a people and as a nation. You reminded us that when we Americans set our mind to something, when we are focused and when we are working together, when we’re not worried about who’s getting the credit and when we stay true to our values, even if it takes years, there is nothing we cannot do.”
For a guy who’s not worried about who gets the credit, he sure seems interested in who gets the credit.

KimmyQueen, I can't stand his constant nose-in-the-air pose. I've commented on this elsewhere, but the man is 6'1" I think. Tall but not unusually so. And yet even in a gathering of people where he's the tallest one, he still tilts his head back and looks down his nose. Either he needs glasses, or my second theory is true, to wit: My husband is 6'2" and I have never seen him look down his nose at anyone like that. He tends to incline his head toward people who are shorter. So it's not just the reaction of a tall guy to a mostly shorter world. I think that Barry realizes he lacks gravitas and he needs to be the "biggest" guy in the room, hence the Il Duce-like nose in the air. He attempts to make up in bearing what he lacks in presence.
I agree. I don't think he needs glasses because he is successful in reading the telemprompter from far.

There are people whom are arrogant that I cannot stand, yet I can see why they are arrogant because they actually have something to be arrogant about. In Obamies case he has no reason to be arrogant, he is useless yet he has this smug Mussolini look that just pisses me off.

When I have listened to him I can't figure out why anybody has labeled him as a great orator. His delivery is stunted and the content of his remarks is simplistic, canned and he talks down to you, but elevates himself like no other President in recent memory.
