Michigan legislature passes right-to-work

MichiganRightToWorkArrests.jpg
Michigan legislature passes right-to-work in spite of union protests. It was an exciting day here in Michigan. Both the House and the Senate passed right-to-work legislation while Democrats threw hissy fits and paid union protestors screamed obscenities. At one point eight union thugs tried to rush the Senate floor and had to be tear-gassed and arrested. Meanwhile, President Obama weighed in by calling the legislation a “roll-back” of worker rights… even though it’s actually an addition to worker rights. That’s why it’s called “right-to-work,” Mr. President. Finally, after decades of having no rights, conservatives in unions won’t have to support Democrats with their union dues anymore.

Unemployment moves sharply higher after election

GallupUnemployment_Nov2012.jpg
Unemployment moves sharply higher after election. “It is unclear what caused the increase in the unemployment rate in November,” says Gallup. Here’s a thought that occurs to us, Gallup: maybe the unemployment rate reported before the election was a dastardly lie to ensure a certain ineffective president’s re-election.

Bill Nye the astonishingly ignorant Science Guy

MarkMoranoVsBillNye.jpg
Bill Nye the astonishingly ignorant Science Guy. Piers Morgan interviewed Bill Nye and Marc Morano, the owner of Climate Depot, about Global Warming. Guess how that went. Morgan and Nye sounded like medieval druids dancing around a solstice bonfire baying at the moon, whereas Morano sounded like a guy who actually understands climate science.

High school locked down because of thermometer

SeminoleHighSchool.jpg
High school locked down because of thermometer. Officials brought in a hazmat crew after a student brought a thermometer containing mercury to chemistry class. No, the thermometer didn’t break and spill mercury. Yes, this is the same substance Congress decided should be in our light bulbs… including, no doubt, the light bulbs lining the hallways and illuminating the classrooms of Seminole High.

Florida prosecutors release photo of George Zimmerman

ZimmermanAfterFight.jpg
Florida prosecutors release photo of George Zimmerman… nine months after Trayvon Martin pounded on his face and eight months after they rejected his claim of self defense and charged him with murder. Gee, it’s a mystery why they were so reluctant to show defense attorneys this picture.

ABC News assigns Christiane Amanpour to host primetime special

ChristianeAmanpour.jpg
ABC News assigns anti-Christian anti-Israel Christiane Amanpour… to host primetime special about the history of the land of Israel. What’s next, hiring liberal Steven Spielberg to make a movie about Republican president Abraham Lincoln? What’s that you say? ABC did hire Spielberg to make a movie about Lincoln? Oh.

West Point chapel hosts first lesbian wedding

WestPoint_LesbianWedding.jpg
West Point chapel hosted its first lesbian wedding today. Lesbian activist Brenda Sue Fulton married her partner even though they had to bring in a clergyman from elsewhere to perform the ceremony. Brenda graduated from the academy in 1980, the first class that included women, and shortly afterward founded an organization called KnightsOut, which describes itself as “an organization of West Point Alumni, Staff and Faculty who are united in supporting the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender soldiers to openly serve their country.” So there was no political agenda involved in this, just a love match.

British doctors euthanizing babies and children

UKBaby.jpg
British doctors euthanizing babies and children… in the most painful inhumane manner possible. “I witnessed a 14 year-old boy with cancer die with his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth when doctors refused to give him liquids by tube. His death was agonising for him,” said a hospice nurse. The UK’s National Health Service is very handy for Americans. It provides an advance look at the depravity and evil of socialized medicine so we don’t have to worry about surprises.

Greenland ice not melting as fast as they thought

GreenlandIceSheet.jpg
New analysis says Greenland ice not melting as fast as they thought. Just like their warnings about Himalayan ice and Antarctic ice were dramatically wrong, it turns out the Greenland ice sheet will last for 13,000 years at the current melt rate. By then Al Gore will have invented a giant Earth cooler to save us, so no worries, mate.

Tiny jellyfish holds the secret of immortality

Turritopsis_dohrnii.jpg
Tiny jellyfish holds the secret of immortality. In 1988 a marine-biologist named Christian Sommer found immortality exactly where Utnapishtim told Gilgamesh it could be found, on the ocean floor. Sommer, working off the coast of the Italian Riviera, where Friedrich Nietzsche wrote, “Everything goes, everything comes back; eternally rolls the wheel of being. Everything dies, everything blossoms again,” discovered a jellyfish (Turritopsis dohrnii) which can switch to aging in reverse, à la Benjamin Button, until it reaches its earliest stage of development, whereupon life begins anew.

Chinas Peoples Daily falls for Onion spoof

KimJongUn.jpg
China’s People’s Daily falls for Onion spoof naming Kim Jong Un “Sexiest Man Alive.” Apparently nobody told them The Onion is a comedy website, we get that, but at some point during the process of asembling their own 55-photo-spread of Dear Leader (55 photos!), nobody noticed the guy wasn’t sexy? Really?

Time magazine considering Sandra Fluke for 2012 Person of the Year

ObamaFluke.jpg
Time magazine considering Sandra Fluke for 2012 Person of the Year. This is how we measure greatness now: if a woman flagrantly lies on national TV during a sham congressional hearing while implying that she has extramarital sex so frequently that 3,000 condoms are needed to get her through three years of law school… well, that warrants national recognition. Barf amongst yourselves.

Obama wants women in combat infantry units

MarineCorpsInfantryOfficerCourse.jpg
Obama wants women in combat infantry units… but after opening the Marine Corps’ three-month-long Infantry Officer Course to women, only two volunteered. One dropped out the first day, the other two weeks later. No women volunteered for the next one, which starts in January. Poll question: will liberals respond by admitting it was a bad idea or will they lower standards so women can graduate?

Gaia worshipping enviromentalists rank countries for happiness and sustainability

HappyPlanetIndexMap.jpg
Gaia worshipping enviromentalists rank countries for happiness and sustainability. According to the Happy Planet Index, the United States is a worse place to live than Venezuela, Cuba, and Sudan. But don’t lose hope. Obama has four more years so anything could happen.

Truck driver spent seven months in Mexican prison for wrong turn

JabinBogan.jpg
Truck driver spent seven months in a Mexican prison for wrong turn. He was delivering a load of ammunition to a Phoenix gun shop when he made the wrong turn. When he asked a cop where he could make a U-turn, he was directed down the road which took him across the border into Mexico where they have strict gun laws. Meanwhile, nobody responsible for the “Fast and Furious” scandal has spent a single day in jail.

Obama used green energy loans to recycle money back to donors

GreenEnergyLoans.jpg
Obama used green energy loans to recycle money back to donors. His first term was so corrupt, Obama campaign bundlers averaged more than $21,000 in government-backed loans and grants for every dollar they contributed to his campaign. That’s a better return than drug cartels get selling cocaine.

Science journalist equates climate skeptics to pedophiles

RobynWilliams.jpg
Science journalist equates climate skeptics to pedophiles. “What if I told you pedophilia is good for children?” asks Robyn Williams on Australia’s The Science Show. “You’d rightly find it outrageous, but there have been similar statements coming out of inexpert mouths distorting [climate] science.”

What if they held a cap-and-trade auction and nobody showed up

JerryBrown.jpg
What if they held a cap-and-trade auction and nobody showed up? The brilliant budgeteers in California were planning on $500 million dollars from the auction to reduce their deficit, but the auction brought them a grand total of $55.8 million… 89% less than they predicted. Oops.
