Truck driver spent seven months in a Mexican prison for wrong turn. He was delivering a load of ammunition to a Phoenix gun shop when he made the wrong turn. When he asked a cop where he could make a U-turn, he was directed down the road which took him across the border into Mexico where they have strict gun laws. Meanwhile, nobody responsible for the “Fast and Furious” scandal has spent a single day in jail.

His Mom paid the fines? Surely the company he was working for would have taken care of all fees, fines and legal expenses.

You don’t know much about trucking companies do you. Here today, gone tomorrow, started on a shoestring budget by immigrants who know nothing about our country or laws. Then, they hire people out of these truck driving schools, people with no experience on the road, so they can pay them next to nothing.

I guess they aren’t worth much though since most of the “drivers” these days are immigrants themselves, with little or no understanding of our language or traffic laws. If you don’t believe me check out a truck stop near you, sit a while and enjoy a cup of coffee. Then walk away very scared and drive home the same way.

When you drive a truck, if you do something that gets you fined, you are totally responsible for the fine. The company will not pay your fines.

Uhm… gotta throw the BS flag on this fellow. An actual road that you can drive a truck on, into Mexico, that doesn’t have a border crossing station, in El Paso, where the Rio Grande establishes the border. He accidentaly went into Mexico to do a Uturn… Uhm… BS!

I can’t judge his story because I don’t know the area, but there are a couple of corroborating points. One, he was caught coming back into the U.S., not peddling ammo to cartels in Mexico. Two, the Mexicans ultimately declined to prosecute and settled for a fine, suggesting nothing criminal happened. Maybe he’s just stupid.

Confession: back in high school I went to Canada by accident while trying to drive to Ann Arbor. If you look at a map it seems like a ludicrous story, but I daydreamed my way past Ann Arbor all the way to a one-way entry to the Windsor tunnel. My only choice at that point was to go to Canada, turn around, and come back. When the customs guy asked me how long I was in Canada I replied, “About ten seconds.”
