Least subliminal commercial of the day

Least subliminal commercial of the day. It’s a slow day here at IHTM, so I’m watching Midnight Express on cable. The drug dealing kid just got sentenced to four years and two months in a foul Turkish prison when they cut to this commercial. It’s so over the top that even I, an incredibly sophisticated advertising professional, had to laugh. By the way, if you think this is over the top, go to YouTube and check out the 60-second version. Now let’s get to the important stuff – anyone know what time The View is on?

Maybe Romney answer was “inelegant” only because Mother Jones didn’t disclose that part of tape was missing

Maybe Romney answer was “inelegant” only because Mother Jones didn’t disclose that part of tape was missing. Fake but accurate? “…Corn has admitted that 1-2 minutes of audio/video are missing. That missing audio/video includes part of Romney’s controversial answer.” Sorta like NBC with the famous Zimmerman 911 tape. Like the phony Bush documents pusher, Dan Rather. Everything these crooks say is a lie, including the “the” and the “a”.

Obama on national debt: “I don’t remember what the number was precisely”

Obama on national debt: “I don’t remember what the number was precisely.” Feckless, lazy and ignorant, and he goes on national TV and laughs about it… this is the “genius” the Dem0crat Party and the media think should be rehired as president. Nobody would be a better leader…. and we mean that literally, having the job go unfilled would be an improvement.

Another day, another disaster: So what now for Afghanistan?

Another day, another disaster: So what now for Afghanistan? “… a chaotic 24 hours that saw the Allies in disarray, the exit strategy seemingly in tatters and a dozen killed by a suicide bomb.” Meanwhile, “foreign policy president” Barack Obama appears on Letterman and parties with Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Feds ignore rules and use stimulus cash to buy Chinese solar panels

Feds ignore rules and use stimulus cash to buy Chinese solar panels. “Government officials blame unfair competition from China for the collapse of solar panel manufacturer Solyndra, but such concerns didn’t stop the federal government from breaking stimulus program rules to use Chinese solar panels atop a federal building housing the offices of a senator, congressman and several agencies.” Chinese solar-panel makers are part of the 47%.

An October Surprise sprung early?

An October Surprise sprung early? We were surprised to learn the Romney “47% gaffe” tape was from a Boca Raton fundraiser on May 17th. If it’s such a big deal, why didn’t it surface until now? In fact it did, but nobody much cared. So why is the media making a big deal of it now? Something to do with the crash and burn of the “Obama, foreign policy genius” meme? Hmmm?

Egypt orders arrest of US-based Copts over film

Egypt orders arrest of US-based Copts over film. “Authorities in Cairo have ordered the arrest of seven US-based Egyptian Coptic Christians for their alleged involvement in an anti-Islam video.” “An arrest warrant has also been issued for US Christian pastor Terry Jones.” Anybody want to give odds on the probability of King Barack the Buttsmoocher extraditing them?

How the media misrepresents the race

How the media misrepresents the race. “There is now a revolving door between the leftwing blogosphere, the broader Democratic establishment, and the mainstream media – and the phony narrative of a runaway Obama lead is just one result of that insidious alliance.” Going bankrupt because they deserve to.

Sir Salman Rushdie: free speech under threat from ‘religious extremists’

Sir Salman Rushdie: free speech under threat from ‘religious extremists’: We strongly applaud the man coming out as a champion of free expression. However we don’t know how vital it is to warn of “religious extremists of all stripes”. Last we checked Dan Brown has never had to go into hiding.

Japan brandname firms shut China plants after protest violence

Japan brandname firms shut China plants after protest violence. Hopeychangey is bustin’ out all over: “China and Japan…are arguing over the uninhabited islets in the East China Sea, a long-standing dispute that erupted last week when the Japanese government decided to buy some of them from a private Japanese owner.” Wonder which YouTube video got them all upset?

Protesters screaming ‘F**k America!’ attack US Embassy in Jakarta

Protesters screaming ‘F**k America!’ attack US Embassy in Jakarta. Jakarta, Indonesia? Didn’t Obama once live there and eat dog sandwiches? Hey, then they can’t be mad at America – maybe they went to see “Ice Age: Continental Drift” and really hated it or something.

Some perspective on civilization

Some perspective on civilization. Blogger writing about a Victor Davis Hanson interview sums up our problem perfectly: “This election isn’t a battle between the haves and have-nots, as the Democrats want to paint it. It’s a battle between the responsible and the irresponsible; the realistic and the unrealistic; the self-reliant and the dependent. Frankly, it’s a battle between an adult’s view of the world and a child’s. And the adults are precariously close to losing.”

GM WANTS OUT OF GOV’T; OBAMA SAYS NO

Drudge: GM WANTS OUT OF GOV’T; OBAMA SAYS NO Step one: seduce a party with the promise of good times and easy money. Step two: set your hooks as deeply into that party as they will go. Step three: Use your leverage to force that party into doing whatever it is you want. Step four: destroy that party and pick it’s carcass clean. Is it just us or did Barry pick up some pretty good business lessons from his days of associating with drug dealers and criminals?

‘Occupy’ To Hit 40 ‘Corporate Targets’ For Anniversary Protests – Disguised In ‘Business Attire’

‘Occupy’ To Hit 40 ‘Corporate Targets’ For Anniversary Protests – Disguised In ‘Business Attire’:Let us not forget that if these guys really wanted to end corporatism they’d be protesting the government involvement that is the central component in any such arrangement. But they can’t. To remove that would be to remove the mechanism by which they hope to have even more property removed from the middle class and placed into their greedy, grubby, never-done-an-honest-day’s-worth-of-work hands.

Obama Telephones Cairo

Obama Telephones Cairo. Crises are “springing” up all over the Middle East and Obama’s response is to make a phone call. “Mr. Obama is delusional to think that a phone call to Cairo can turn back the cunning massive wave against America, fed by the Islamists, the jihadists, and Iran.” The first 4 words say it all: “Mr. Obama is delusional.”
