President Obama is a study in hypocrisy. He lectures the pubic on the need for sacrifice while wasting millions of their dollars on parties. He promised the most transparent administration in our history but has delivered one of its most secretive. He defends trickle down tax hikes on the middle class by attacking the “fat cat corporations” while all the while enriching those friendly to his regime.

The head of General Electric (GE) told a jobs summit at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Monday that businesses needed to take the lead on job creation.

At a conference where many of the comments were focused on government barriers to hiring, GE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt acknowledged there needed to be some policy changes by Congress and the Obama administration. But he said that the responsibility for hiring lay with businesses.

“The people who are part of the business sector, the people in this room, have got to stop complaining about government and get some action underway,” he told the group. “There’s no excuse today for lack of leadership. The truth is we all need to be part of the solution.”

No Mr. Immelt. If the people in that room want to succeed what they’ve got to do is buddy up to Obama. That way they can get some TARP money and skip out on paying their taxes too.

Reuters has the story of Immelt’s supposed conversion from the religion of the Goddess Gaia:

“If I had one thing to do over again I would not have talked so much about green,” Immelt said at an event sponsored by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “Even though I believe in global warming and I believe in the science … it just took on a connotation that was too elitist; it was too precious and it let opponents think that if you had a green initiative, you didn’t care about jobs. I’m a businessman. That’s all I care about, is jobs.”

Here’s our bottom line:

When Immelt stops taking boatloads of federal dollars, when he stands up against those stupid twisty light bulbs, when he puts out a memo telling NBC to end those moronic green weeks, that’s when we’ll believe anything he has to say on this subject.

What was once denied is now confirmed: GE chairman really did order NBC hosts to go easy on Obama

Charles Gasparino tells Bill O’Reilly that he has confirmation that the “go easy on Obama” order was actually issued by General Electric (GE), which owns NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC.

Jeff Immelt is the sleazy chairman of General Electric (GE), which owns NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC.

Rumors swirled around the media world very early in the Obama administration that Immelt had held a dinner for the top executives and air talent of his networks and told them to go easy on the new administration. Of course, everyone involved denied that the dinner had ever taken place.

Now Charles Gasparino tells Bill O’Reilly that he has confirmation from people who attended the dinner that it not only took place, but that the “go easy on Obama” order was actually issued.

The only remaining question is, why did he bother inviting anyone from MSNBC? How much easier could they go?

Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric’s (GE) CEO attacked other business leaders in a speech at West Point. Immelt neglected to mention, however, that he took home $14,100,000 in compensation last year.

Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric’s (GE) CEO attacked other business leaders in a speech at West Point, saying that his generation “had succumbed to ‘meanness and greed’ that had harmed the US economy and increased the gap between the rich and the poor.”

Immelt neglected to mention, however, that he took home $14,100,000 in compensation last year. Guess he was talking about all those other greedy execs.

“We are at the end of a difficult generation of business leadership … tough-mindedness, a good trait, was replaced by meanness and greed, both terrible traits,” Immelt said, “Rewards became perverted. The richest people made the most mistakes with the least accountability.”

Immelt’s didn’t stop there. According to the Financial Times, he also linked bad leadership to growing inequality.

“The bottom 25 per cent of the American population is poorer than they were 25 years ago. That is just wrong,” he said. “Ethically, leaders do share a common responsibility to narrow the gap between the weak and the strong.”

Two problems with Immelt’s attack. First, he’s one of the highest paid U.S. executives. And second, although GE took $80 billion in TARP funds, Immelt somehow used his connections to the Obama administration to get GE exempted from executive pay cuts that hit similar firms.

You have used your show as a platform to call for the resignation of corporate executives accepting excessive bonuses on the backs of taxpayers who are picking up the tab for these atrocious bailouts, yet you yourself have no problem engaging in the same “class economic rape” that you accuse them of.

Please heed your own advice and stop accepting taxpayer money to subsidize your nightly diatribes. Resign or return the balance of your excessive raise to the U.S. Treasury.
