Begala calls Limbaugh “a corpulent drug addict”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYBe2PUgHh8After former Maryland governor Michael Steele was named Republican National Committee chairman, CNN’s ever-pleasant Paul Begala said, “The real leader of the Republican Party in America today is a corpulent drug addict with an AM radio talk show, Rush Limbaugh.”

He continued by saying Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is “very bitter, and divisive,” that George W. Bush was a “spectacularly lazy president,” and “Obama is stylistically much more like Reagan.”

Then Begala said, “Look at the pretty birdies. I like the pretty birdies. The pretty birdies make me happy.” At which point his caretakers took him back to his nice, padded room.

FCC commissioner warns against Fairness Doctrine

robert_mcdowellWe feel a chill wind blowing. And we’re not alone. FCC commissioner Robert McDowell has issued a stern warning about the dangers of re-imposing the fairness doctrine.

McDowell warned that when the doctrine’s supporters finally bring it out of the shadows, it may not “wear the same label. That’s just Marketing 101: if your brand is controversial, make a new brand.” He suggested that it could be disguised with names like localism, diversity or network neutrality.

If it’s an alias they want, there’s one obvious one: The Hush Rush Doctrine.

The final score: Limbaugh 188, Olbermaniac 0

rushlimbaugh_cigarThe voices in Keith Olbermaniac’s head must be angrier than usual this morning.

“In his inaugural address,” Olbermann crowed two days ago, “the President essentially tried to create a wedge between those who are reasonable and those who are not. Of course, he was talking about the Muslim world. Is it possible in this different context that he’s trying to do the same as he seeks bipartisanship with the Republicans. Sort of, you know, separate Mullah Limbaugh from the herd?”

The smirk on Olbermann’s face revealed just how clever he thought he was for making this observation.

Then two things happened.

First, Rep Phil Gingrey (R-GA) appeared as a guest on Limbaugh’s program yesterday, and humbly apologized for telling Rush to “back off” congressional Republican leaders.

Then, instead of separating themselves from Limbaugh, House Republicans unanimously voted against Obama’s economic “stimulus” package. And in what must have been even more frustrating for Olbermaniac, 11 Democrats crossed the aisle to vote against it.

It appears that Mullah Limbaugh has issued the symbolic equivalent of a fatwah against infidel Olbermann.

Ass-kissing House GOP member tells Rush to back off

Rush Limbaugh stated the obvious when he said Obama is “obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He’s more frightened of me, than he is of, say, John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party.”

Ass-kissing Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., jumped the the defense of these two losers:

“I think that our leadership, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, are taking the right approach,” Gingrey said. “I mean, it’s easy if you’re Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks…But when it comes to true leadership, not that these people couldn’t be or wouldn’t be good leaders, they’re not in that position of John Boehner or Mitch McConnell.”

He then told reporters he’d love to stay and talk more, but was overdue for a ceremony at the Shrine of the Unknown Loser, where McConnell and Boehner were being enshrined.

Rush vs. Obama: Round Two

rocky_boxing“Obama was angry that Merrill Lynch used $1.2 million of TARP money to remodel an executive suite,” Limbaugh said. “Excuse me, but didn’t Merrill have to hire a decorator and contractor? Didn’t they have to buy the new furnishings? What’s the difference in that and Merrill loaning that money to a decorator, contractor and goods supplier to remodel Warren Buffet’s office? Either way, stimulus in the private sector occurs.”

The thing we love about Rush is the way he makes connections between seemingly unrelated ideas everyone else overlooks. Like this:

“How much money will the Obamas spend redecorating the White House residence? Whose money will be spent? I have no problem with the Obamas re-doing the place. It is tradition.”

“Cancel the new carpet,” Barack screamed to Michelle, “Limbaugh is onto us.”

Obama wants to crush Rush

Rush Limbaugh Pointing FingerPresident Obama warned Republicans to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with his administration.

“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he said to Republican leaders attending a White House meeting to discuss his bloated $1 trillion economic stimulus package.

Too many people listen to Rush, the new president thought to himself. After we’re done redistributing everyone’s income, we’ll start redistributing Limbaugh’s radio listeners.

Limbaugh gives media “the vapors”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4YcwI4NlKA

There’s a scene in Gone With The Wind where Scarlett O’Hara’s scandalous behavior causes Aunt Pittypat such distress that she falls victim to “the vapors.” That’s exactly what talk titan Rush Limbaugh has done to the rest of the media. Yet again.

As part of a longer statement on the danger of Obama’s policies, Limbaugh said, “Look, what he’s talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don’t want this to work. So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, ‘Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.’”

Within minutes, CNN got the vapors. MSNBC got the vapors. The San Francisco Chronicle got the vapors. Dozens, maybe hundreds of members of the media – new and old — got the vapors.

Here’s Sean Hannity’s interview with Limbaugh, who as always, uses 400 words when four would have done the job.
