Sean Hannity sucker punches Juan Williams

Oh, sure, it was a figurative sucker punch, but it left poor Juan’s head spnning nonetheless. The best part is the stunned look on Williams’ face at the very end of the clip.

Oh, sure, it was a figurative sucker punch, but it left poor Juan’s head spnning nonetheless.

Hannity reeled off a list of Eric Cantor’s outrageous comments about raising the debt ceiling and asked for William’s response. When Juan finished ripping Cantor, Hannity unleashed the sucker punch and told him that the comments all came from Senator Barack Obama back in 2006, not Eric Cantor in 2011.

The best part is the stunned look on Williams’ face at the very end of the clip.

“Now here’s the point I’m trying to make to you and I will finish my thought. You believe every woman should wear a burqa. You’re a fascist. You want to ram that down people’s thoats. You want to cut off people’s hands that steal. You want to stone people that commit adultery. You want to rob Israel’s land. And, I believe, but you don’t have the courage to admit it because you are a coward, that you believe that people who killed 3,000 Americans are going to heaven and are going to get 72 virgins. So can you not step back from your sick twisted bizarre ideology here to see that those 3,000 people were innocent victims, sir… You’re one sick, miserable, evil S.O.B but thank you for coming on anyway.“

And don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

To paraphrase the immortal words of Jeff Spicoli, “You johnson!”

Peter Johnson appeared on Hannity to debate Ann Coulter on airport security and played the role of the typical liberal – rude, condescending and filibustering.

Liberal women hate conservative women because, well, because liberal women typically look like liberal women.

And liberal men hate conservative women because they could never get a date with them in high school. Or college. Or life in general.

Take Peter Johnson, for example. He appeared on Hannity on Wednesday to debate Ann Coulter on airport security and played the role of the typical liberal – rude, condescending and filibustering. For his part, Hannity played the enabler, allowing Johnson to control the segment, running roughshod over Coulter every time she tried to make her point.

Words are unnecessary – it’s evident in his smug smirk – but if there were words they would be, “You think you’re pretty? Take that, mean girl!”

At the 4:30 mark Johnson asks Coulter a question, then spends the next two minutes cutting her off and laughing about his rudeness like the typical effeminate little liberal weasel that he is.

As this clip makes clear, Johnson is a johnson. A tiny, flaccid johnson.

“Sources tell me Obama is unhinged … He’s losing it … He can’t stand Biden.”

The feeling among some people in the White House is that this president is unhinged, that he’s detacted, that he’s losing it, he’s obsessed with critics, very specifically obsessed with Fox news, he can’t stand Biden…

We’re not big Sean Hannity fans. Don’t get us wrong – we don’t dislike him. He seems like a nice guy. He’s not as witty as Rush Limbaugh. Not as compelling as Michael Savage. Not as interesting as Glenn Beck.

That being said, he is connected. He does seem to have sources the other guys don’t have. Like for this little gem.

Hannity: “There are some Democrats that cue me into things. The feeling among some people in the White House is that this president is unhinged, that he’s detacted, that he’s losing it, he’s obsessed with critics, very specifically obsessed with Fox news, he can’t stand Biden, he hates the Clintons, the Clintons hate him. Infighting apparently, and finger pointing is at an all-time high, if the President is brought bad news on the economy he has a meltdown everytime he hears it. And this is what people-and I’m telling you-my sources are reliable are telling me.”

Would any of it surprise you?

For your listening pleasure: 88 seconds of pure, unadulterated left wing hate speech

Here’s 1:28 of pure, unadulterated hate from left wing talk show host Mike Malloy. He calls for the death of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly.

Can we all agree on something? Can we just do away with all this nonsense about hate speech from the right. Here’s 1:28 of pure, unadulterated hate from left wing talk show host Mike Malloy. He calls for the death of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly.

Now don’t go telling us that Malloy isn’t representative of the left, because he was a mainstay of Air America, so we can only assume he is the best and the brightest they have to offer.

Correction: The best and the brightest and the most vile.

Gotcha! Lanny Davis thought Sean Hannity made up Dunn’s Mao comments

In the world we live in, the one where we include Fox News among our news (sorry, Mr. Gibbs) sources, we would naturally think that much of the country is aware of the controversies of radicals in the Obama Administration.

In the world we live in, the one where we include Fox News among our news (sorry, Mr. Gibbs) sources, we would naturally think that much of the country is aware of the controversies of radicals in the Obama Administration. But, sadly, this is not the case. Reports of what should be huge news events, like the ACORN videos, Van Jones and Anita Dunn’s war on Fox are under-reported or not reported at all in much of the now-fringe media like ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and most newspapers.

For example, coverage of Anita Dunn’s praising of Mao ZeDong in an address to high school students was so unreported outside of Fox News that political insider, commentator and former counsel to Bill Clinton, Lanny Davis has never even heard of Dunn’s comments. The video from last night’s Hannity, shows Sean asking Davis what he thought of Mao being one of Dunn’s two philosophers she turns to most. Lanny smiled smugly and asked Hannity where he gets his information. In one of the better “gotcha” moments we’ve seen lately, Hannity then plays the video for him.

If political insider Lanny Davis had no idea of Dunn’s crush on the communist responsible for tens of millions of deaths just think how little the rest of the American citizenry knows.

A special note of thanks goes out to MediaMatters, who uploaded this video to Youtube, to go with an article not castigating Dunn, not making fun of Davis, but instead calling out Hannity for showing Davis a “cropped video.” The laughs never end, do they?

King: Would you want the Limbaugh, that crowd — would you want them to be your voice as the Republican Party stands in this country?

Bachmann: Well remember it’s who the American people are referring to Larry. And the American people are looking to voices like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck –

King: I just told you — it’s 2 percent of America. It’s 2 percent!

Fox News kills competition, Glenn Beck’s ratings make mockery of boycott

Beck’s ratings are higher than ever. Remarkably, his show doesn’t run during primetime, yet his audience is larger than every prime time on every cable news network except Fox News’ O’Reilly-Hannity tandem. How long until Fox moves him into a more prominent time slot? And who will go to make room for him?

The Wanda Sykes’ Obama Roast:
the way it should have been

Tradition dictates that the White House Correspondents Dinner roast the president. But host Wanda Sykes could not hide her liberal leanings and after a few polite Obama jokes, tore into the Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and others on the Obama Enemy List instead. This video shows us what the “roast” would have been like in an alternate universe, one where the media treats all sides fairly.

Tea Party coverage leads to surge in Fox ratings

April 15, 2009 (Tea Party Night) Cable News RatingsEveryone’s ratings were up on the night of the Tea Parties, but the ratings at Fox were in the stratosphere. They can’t even see MSNBC in their rear view mirror anymore.

The Comedy Network’s Daily Show and Colbert climbed into the top ten at the expense of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and CNN’S Larry King.

The ratings for Ed Schultz’ EdShow were so abysmal that MSNBC may rename it “Weekday at Bernie’s.” And all that talk about “teabagging” caused Anderson Cooper to suck. Or maybe we should have said his ratings sucked. Yeah, that’s what we should have said.

Why does the media hate and ignore Michael Savage?

michael savageThere’s an old saying that “Any ink is good ink.” But when it comes to radio talk show host Michael Savage, there’s almost no ink.

Savage is America’s third largest talker based on number of affiliates and listeners. Top dog Rush Limbaugh has “about 600 affiliates.” Sean Hannity has “over 500.” And Michael Savage reportedly has 400. Yet the difference in press coverage received by the three talk titans is startling.

We searched Google News for the year 2008. “Rush Limbaugh” and was mentioned 68,400 times. Sean Hannity was mentioned 18,600 times. But Michael Savage scored only 5,910 mentions. Obviously, Limbaugh is the king daddy and in another league compared to everyone else. But how do you explain the vast difference between the coverage of Hannity and Savage? Savage has 80% as many affiliates as Hannity, but received but gets only 31% of the press coverage. And, by the way, he is a man that has published over 20 books.

To double check our theory, we also searched Google News for the last month. The finally tally was Limbaugh 9,398 mentions, Hannity 621 mentions, and Savage a mere 137 mentions. That number puts him far closer to overwhelmingly unpopular and unsuccessful talk show hosts like Stephanie Miller (73 mentions) and Ed Schultz (44 mentions) than to peers Limbaugh and Hannity. Yet Savage has far more affiliates and a far larger audience than either of the liberal hosts.

Yes, Savage is combative. Abrasive. Harsh. Acerbic. Outspoken. But he has a large, loyal audience and there’s no logical reason for him to be ignored by the liberal and conservative press.

Here’s to you, Michael. For what it’s worth, you’re not being ignored by IHateTheMedia.com.

Showbiz bible distorts ratings to promote MSNBC’s Maddow

Nothing better than quoting the bible on a Sunday morning.

“Maddow’s unique style spikes ratings. Smarts, smile fuel MSNBC host’s rapid rise.” That’s how Variety, long known as the show business bible, headlines its story on MSNBC’s leftwing loon Rachel Maddow.

“After struggling for years to fill the prime 9 p.m. slot — with personalities as disparate as Rita Cosby to Dan Abrams — the network has landed a solid performer in Maddow,” the story says. “Her ratings are a vast improvement over what has been there recently, and she has helped erase doubts the network could carry over sizable audiences from the record heights of the campaign season.”

Maddow premiered with ratings that topped even those of MSNBC “star” Keith Olbermann. And the Variety piece leaves the impression they’ve stayed at that lofty level. In reality, her ratings trajectory looks more like Greg Louganis jackknifing off the high board. There’s been a steady decline and Maddow’s show has now dropped out of the nightly top ten.

As you can see in this chart, Maddow’s audience has dropped significantly this year, while the numbers for direct competitor Sean Hannity have increased significantly.
rachel_maddow_vs_sean_hannity

NOTE: Numbers are in hundred thousands and measure the highly coveted 25-54 demographic. In total audience, the disparity between Hannity and Maddow is even more dramatic.

Let’s compare this to a horserace. Maddow broke fast out of the gate. She led for the first three quarters of the race, but faded at the end and lost the race by 20 lengths.

Not that we would compare Rachel Maddow to a broken down old nag. Never. That would be tacky and tasteless and totally unlike us.

Chris Matthews could just scratch Obama’s eyes out

Chris Matthews has done everything but carve “C.M. loves B.H.O.” on a tree. Yet the object of his affections repeatedly mentions Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, but ignores the MSBNC host.

‘You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh,” Obama said, “and get things done.”

“With respect to Sean Hannity,” Obama later said, “I didn’t know that he had invited me for a beer. But you know, I will take that under advisement. Generally, his opinion of me does not seem to be very high, but I’m always good for a beer.”

“This bothers me,” Matthews fumed. “What’s the president giving so many shout-outs to conservative radio talk-show hosts? All he talks about is Limbaugh and Sean Hannity…I’m envious. Is this the only way you get this guy’s attention, is to whack him?”

As last week’s Monday night’s press conference demonstrated, Obama likes to talk. A lot. We suspect he knows he’d never get a word in edgewise with the loquacious Matthews.

Newsweek just called you a socialist

The Socialist States of America?
The Socialist States of America?

The latest cover of Newsweek says “We Are All Socialists Now.” The story is actually a short editorial that begins by attacking talk show host Sean Hannity and Congressman Michael Pence for refusing to surrender to the new, socialist paradise that is America.

“It is…the European Socialist Act of 2009,” Hannity said while talking to Pence about the “stimulus” bill. “We’re counting on you to stop it.”

“There it was,” Newsweek editorialized, “just before the commercial: the S word, a favorite among conservatives since John McCain began using it during the presidential campaign…But it seems strangely beside the point. The U.S. government has already—under a conservative Republican administration—effectively nationalized the banking and mortgage industries…the America of 2009 is moving toward a modern European state.”

Last week Newsweek announced that it would soon be moving away from words and to a much more photo-oriented design.

The change can’t come soon enough.

King beats Olbermann, Fox beats everyone

Highlights of this week’s cable news ratings. Fox continues its run of dominant ratings thanks to growing dissatisfaction with the Keystone Kops administration in Washington, DC. Larry King topped Keith Olbermaniac. Rachel Maddow climbed back into the top ten dispite rather lackluster numbers.

Here’s a look at the top ten cable TV shows for February 11, 2009:

Network Program Total Audience
Fox News O’Reilly 3,494,000
Fox News Hannity 2,658,000
Fox News Beck 2,370,000
Fox News Baier 2,305,000
Fox News Shep Smith 2,190,000
Fox News Greta 1,847,000
CNN King 1,761,000
MSNBC Olbermann 1,485,000
CNN Cooper 1,286,000
CNN Blitzer 1,246,000
MSNBC Maddow 1,240,000

UPDATE: Math was never our strong suit. Looks like Maddow didn’t climb into the top ten after all. Her show was actually Number 11.

Bill Press pressing for Fairness Doctrine. Bill who?

Another failed liberal talk show host trying to decide what you should listen to
Another failed liberal talk show host trying to decide what you should listen to

We were going to start this story by saying, “Bill Press called called free speech on the radio a ‘failed experiment from the Reagan era.’” But we were worried you would react by saying, “Bill who”

Press is a yet another failed liberal talk show host. A bitter, angry liberal talk show host. But we repeat ourselves.

“Maybe it’s time,” Press said in a Washington Post op-ed piece today, “to bring back the Fairness Doctrine — and bring competition back to talk radio in Washington and elsewhere.”

Press is upset because his Washington, DC affiliate dropped the liberal talk format. He says it was canceled because of “an exclusive, tightly-held, conservative media conspiracy.” The station says it was canceled because the format was so spectacularly unsuccessful that it ranked dead last in the latest ratings.

We have to agree with Press on one thing: there is a conspiracy here. Unfortunately for Press, it’s a conspiracy of listeners who want entertaining radio.

Hannity, Grandpa Munster separated at birth?

sean_hannitygrandpa_ped

We like Sean Hannity. Especially when he lets someone else speak. We’ve never thought he was the brightest bulb in the box, but we like him. That being said, what’s the deal with his new look? And are we the only ones to have noticed that his new look looks like an old look? And when we say old, we mean he’s beginning to look just like Grandpa Munster.

As you can see, the similarities are eerie. Just like Al Lewis, the veteran actor who played Grandpa to perfection, Hannity has a new slicked back hair style. A new, even pastier complexion. The same colorful sense of fashion. And the same confused logic Grandpa was famous for.

Limbaugh gives media “the vapors”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4YcwI4NlKA

There’s a scene in Gone With The Wind where Scarlett O’Hara’s scandalous behavior causes Aunt Pittypat such distress that she falls victim to “the vapors.” That’s exactly what talk titan Rush Limbaugh has done to the rest of the media. Yet again.

As part of a longer statement on the danger of Obama’s policies, Limbaugh said, “Look, what he’s talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don’t want this to work. So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, ‘Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.’”

Within minutes, CNN got the vapors. MSNBC got the vapors. The San Francisco Chronicle got the vapors. Dozens, maybe hundreds of members of the media – new and old — got the vapors.

Here’s Sean Hannity’s interview with Limbaugh, who as always, uses 400 words when four would have done the job.
