Maybe there’s just no need to actually learn what the Constitution says when you’re going to ignore it anyway. That’s the only explanation we can think of to explain Democrat Dick Durbin’s comment in a congressional hearing Tuesday.
Thinking wistfully of the DREAM Act, he said that a young person who’s an illegal alien today could someday become president.

“When I look around this room, I see America’s future, our doctors, our teachers, our nurses, our engineers, our scientists, our soldiers, our congressmen, our senators, and maybe our president,” Durbin said immediately after having asked all young persons in the room to stand if they were currently undocumented aliens who would be eligible to become citizens if the DREAM Act were passed.
Dick, buddy, the Constitution expressly prohibits aliens from becoming president. Except for the clause that says Barack Obama is an exception to the rule.
