Jesse Jackson Jr. caught with his hand in the cookie jar and his you-know-what in the you-know-what

Jesse Jackson Jr. is following in his father’s footsteps. He’s corrupt both politically and morally.

NBC Chicago has the disreputable details:

If If you want to know Jesse Jackson Jr.'s position on urban affairs, just ask Giovana Huidobro

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. asked a political fund-raiser to offer then Gov. Rod Blagojevich $6 million dollars in exchange for an appointment to President Obama’s former Senate seat — and had the fund-raiser pay for two airline trips for a blonde “social acquaintance” — the fund-raiser told federal authorities.

Businessman Raghuveer Nayak… says Jackson instructed him to offer Blagojevich as much as $6 million for the seat — $1 million from the Indian community and $5 million from a yet-to-be-held fund raiser that Jackson Jr. would organize.

So much for the political corruption. Let’s get to the juicy stuff:

Jesse Jackson Jr. doesn’t deny involvement with a Washington D.C. based restaurant hostess who was named this morning in a Sun-Times story about his alleged attempt to buy an appointment to President Obama’s former Senate seat.

Jackson Jr. allegedly had a relationship with Giovana Huidobro, a restaurant hostess and former model whose pictures can be seen here, and asked that fund-raiser Raghuveer Nayak pay for her to be flown from D.C. to Chicago on at least two occasions.

“The reference to a social acquaintance is a personal and private matter between me and my wife that was handled some time ago.” Jackson Jr. said in a statement. “I ask that you respect our privacy.”

No word on whether Jesse Jr. got his girlfriend pregnant, but he’s young. He has lots of time to match is father’s accomplishments.

Trading scandal erupts on Wall Street Michigan Avenue

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama’s Chief of Staff, traded favors with disgraced Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich like two kids trade baseball cards. “I’ll give you two A-Rods and a Derek Jeter for a $2,000,000 school grant.”

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama’s Chief of Staff, traded favors with disgraced Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich like two kids trade baseball cards. “I’ll give you two A-Rods and a Derek Jeter for a $2,000,000 school grant.”

NBC Chicago has the decidedly dirty details:

President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, then a congressman in Illinois, apparently attempted to trade favors with embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich while he was in office, according to newly disclosed e-mails obtained by The Associated Press.

Emanuel agreed to sign a letter to the Chicago Tribune supporting Blagojevich in the face of a scathing editorial by the newspaper that ridiculed the governor for self-promotion. Within hours, Emanuel’s own staff asked for a favor of its own: The release of a delayed $2 million grant to a school in his district.

The 2006 discussion occured with Blagojevich’s top aide, Deputy Gov. Bradley Tusk, and doesn’t appear to cross legal lines; Emanuel couldn’t speed up the distribution of the funds. But it offers a peek at ties between two high-profile Illinois politicians — one now the president’s right-hand man, the other facing years in prison if convicted of political corruption.

Anybody wanna bet that Emanuel’s name comes up more than once in Blogojevich’s corruption trial?

“Oh! You mean that Blagojevich. Now I remember.”

“Oh, you mean that Blagojevich. Now I remember.” That’s how we recommend President Obama answer the judge’s questions about his conversations with embattled former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich should the proposed subpoenas of Obama & Friends actually be issued.

“Oh, you mean that Blagojevich. Rod Blagojevich. Now I remember.” That’s how we recommend President Obama answer the judge’s questions about his conversations with embattled former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich should the proposed subpoenas of Obama & Friends actually be issued.

According to the NY Post, “Sections of court papers filed by scandal-scarred former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich that were mistakenly made public show a deeper involvement by President Obama in picking his Senate successor and call into question the president’s public statements on the case.

According to passages in the papers filed Thursday by Blagojevich’s lawyers – which were blacked out under a judge’s order but made visible by a computer glitch – Obama, then president-elect, spoke directly to the disgraced governor on Dec. 1, 2008.

But just one week later, on indictment day for Blagojevich, Obama told reporters, “I had no contact with the governor or his office, and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”

Well, sure, Mr. President, you were probably confused what with just being elected and all. That’s probably why you forgot about talking to Blago, but what about the fact that “Also contained in the unredacted papers is a claim that, contrary to his denials, Obama did push longtime friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett for his old Senate seat using a union official as a go-between with Blagojevich.”

Face it, Mr. President, we all would like to forget about Valerie Jarrett.

The mainstream media is all over this story. Just kidding.

Most of the response from the media other than Fox News and NY Post conveniently have omitted any mention of any potential misdeeds by Team Obama and focus rather on the fact that Blagojevich’s attorney’s would dare subpoena the Most Honest President In History.

Media Matters, not to be confused with any legitimate media outlet, under a heading amusingly titled “Research”, has an article headlined “Fox Nation falsely claims ‘new dirt’ from Blagojevich trial ‘implicates Team Obama.’” The article says “Fox Nation used the baseless headline ‘Blago Moves to Subpoena resident: New Dirt Implicates Team Obama’” in linking to a Mediaite story about the trial of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-IL). However, as ABC’s Jake Tapper noted, Blagojevich “alleges no criminal wrongdoing by the president or his team” and is of “disputable credibility.”

Well, given their ironclad record of getting things right, it’s hard to argue with ABC News or Media Matters.

Just kidding again.

Oh, this Illinois election is going to be a really fun one to watch

Less than 24 hours after the Illinois primary, the National Republican Senate Committee released a commercial that connects Democratic Senatorial candidate Alexi Giannoulias to Rod Blagojevich, Tony Rezko, and Chicago mobsters.

Did they hire someone new at the NRSC? Or did one of the existing geniuses finally grow a set?

We hate to admit this, but Rod Blagojevich makes a certain amount of sense

Rod Blagojevich, the thoroughly-corrupt and thoroughly-disgraced former governor of Illinois, is making the rounds with a new book. Jon Stewart was one of the few TV hosts willing to book him.

Rod Blagojevich, the thoroughly-corrupt and thoroughly-disgraced former governor of Illinois, is making the rounds with a new book. Jon Stewart was one of the few TV hosts willing to book him.

Blago, exhibiting the boyish charm that got him elected, contends that prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has been very selective in releasing edited snippets of his taped conversations. He says he will be fully vindicated when the complete tapes are released.

“Let’s hear the tapes,” Blago said. “Release the tapes. Tell the prosecutor to stop holding those tapes hostage.”

Somebody is corrupt here. It’s either Blagojevich or Fitzgerald. Maybe both.

But only time and the tapes will tell.

Welcome to the Chicago Blago Show

on_the_airTwo of Chicago’s top radio stations have offered ethically-challenged Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich jobs on the radio.

WGN-AM issued a press release offering Blago and his wife Patti, the 1 to 4 p.m. weekday slot. WLS-AM offered up a weekly show on Sundays from Noon to 2 p.m., but only if Blago resigns as governor.

“Welcome to the Chicago Rod Blago Show. We’re now taking bids if you’d like to go on the air. The current offer is $1,000,000 from Larry in Skokie.”

ABC doesn’t know Blago’s a democrat

Question One: How many segments did ABC’s “Good Morning, America” devote to scandal-plagued Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich?

Answer One: Not one, not two, not three, but four segments.

Question Two: How many times did they mention his party affiliation?

Answer Two: Not four, not three, not two, not one, but zero times.

“Good Morning, America” spent nearly 20 minutes on this piece of human detritus. Yet no one ever saw fit to mention his party affiliation.

But Diane Sawyer did come very close to asking for the name and number of his hair stylist.

Blago’s a small thinker

Disgraced Illinois governor Rod Blagojeviich 1Disgraced Illinois governor Rod Blagojeviich has been all over today’s morning news shows telling the world he considered giving Barack Obama’s open senate seat to Oprah Winfrey.

For god’s sake, Rod, that’s a big idea. Work with it. Develop it to its full potential. Why the hell stop with Oprah when you have a very impressive roster of Chicago celebrities to choose from.

Appoint David Soul as Police Commissioner. Make Jennifer Hudson First Minister of Music. Name Michael Jordon Director of Hoopolgy. Jenny McCarthy can be your Secretary of Education. And Robin Williams would do a bang-up job as Press Secretary.

Now that we’ve done you a favor, maybe you can do one for us. Can you get us a phone number for Jamie Gertz?” We’ve always been kind of hot for her.
