American troops march in Red Square, Joe Biden forced to watch it on YouTube

The Los Angeles Times reports the story:

U.S. troops marched through Red Square for the first time in a Victory Day parade on Sunday as Russia celebrated the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II.

It was a scene cut from Russia’s Cold War nightmares: 71 Americans in dark blue dress uniforms carried the U.S. flag over the cobblestones, past the mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin and the towers of the Kremlin wall to salute Russian leaders.

The Guardian UK reports the disinvitation of Vice President Biden.

Vladimir Putin has snubbed both the Prince of Wales and the US vice-president, Joe Biden, by refusing to allow them to attend a parade in Red Square marking the 65th anniversary of the end of the second world war, the Guardian has learned.

Russia invited Gordon Brown and other heads of state to attend the Kremlin’s celebrations on Sunday – the biggest ever. But with the prime minister unable to attend because of the general election, the Foreign Office suggested Prince Charles instead.

What’s the reaction in the White House to the snub?

The White House is privately furious at the snub. Barack Obama told Russia’s president, Dmitry Medvedev, he was unable to attend but had confidently offered Biden as his replacement. Moscow’s diplomatic corps has been abuzz all week with news of Putin’s unexpected veto.

And Biden’s reaction?

“March in Red Square? Stupid Russians. That was two months ago.”

The Great Unraveling: Now Russians accuse Brits of faking global warming data

Russia has accused British climate researchers of picking and choosing temperature data from Russian weather stations. Oddly enough, they picked only data that supported anthropogenic global warming and ignored any data that inconveniently disagreed with their dandy little theory.

Here’s another story for delegates to ignore at the Copenhagen Global Warming & Interational Bribery Conference:

Russia has accused British climate researchers of picking and choosing temperature data from Russian weather stations. Oddly enough, they picked only data that supported anthropogenic global warming and ignored any data that inconveniently disagreed with their dandy little theory.

According to the Russians, the British “scientists” only used data from urban weather stations and intentionally deleted colder rural stations.

The science is settled! The science is settled! The science is settled!

Why you’ll never see a statue of Barack Obama in Eastern Europe

In Eastern Europe, they don’t think of Barack Obama as the first black president. They think of him as the first black-hearted president. Obama announced that he is scrapping plans for a U.S. missile defense shield designed to protect the Czech Republic and Poland, leaving the two democracies to twist in the Russian wind.

Obama announced that he is scrapping plans for a U.S. missile defense shield designed to protect the Czech Republic and Poland, leaving the two democracies to twist in the Russian wind.

Czech Premier Jan Fischer announced that Obama has informed him that “his government is pulling out of plans to build a missile defense radar on Czech territory.”

“The same happened with Poland. Poland was informed in the same way about this intention,” Fischer announced.

President eats cheeseburger, big news. President eats ice cream, major story. President eats caviar, ssssshhh.

Obama had brunch with Putin with smoked beluga and black caviar. Sale and consumption of beluga or black caviar is illegal in Russia to protect endangered species.

No word on whether President Obama order Grey Poupon on his caviar
No word on whether President Obama order Grey Poupon on his caviar

When President Obama went to a burger joint, the media reported it as if he had walked on water. When he took his daughters out for ice cream, the media went into full orgasmic ecstacy. After all, this is The Greatest President in history, and yet he eats the same food the rest of us eat. He’s not just Everyman, he’s EverySuperman.

Somehow, the media missed President Obama’s recent lunch with Russian puppetmaster Vladimir Putin. Luckily, it was reported by the Jamestown Foundation’s Eurasia Monitor: reports:

Obama had a “Russian style” working brunch with Putin with smoked beluga and black caviar. At present, the commercial production, sale and consumption of beluga or black caviar is illegal in Russia to protect endangered species. It was speculated that Putin served Obama Iranian-made caviar, which is legal (Interfax, July 8). Of course, in Russia, laws do not apply to the top nomenklatura, so the delicacy Obama consumed was most likely Russian-made and contraband. It is not clear what is politically more damaging for a U.S. president: to publicly eat Iranian caviar or Russian contraband. Putin indeed has a peculiar sense of humor.

Mmmmm, endangered species.

We’re still waiting to hear the response from PETA and the World Wildlife Fund.

Obama shows Communists more respect than he shows Republicans

When Major Garrett asked Barack Obama, in Russia, if the West had won the cold war, the President just couldn’t bring himself to say we did.

There’s something oddly pathological about Barack Obama’s strength against friends and weakness against enemies.

When Major Garrett asked if the West had won the cold war, the President just couldn’t bring himself to say we did. This bizarre exchange took place in Russia.

Major Garrett: In your speech this morning you said the Cold War reached its conclusion because of the actions of many nations that were made by many nations over many years. Mr. President are the Russian sensitivities so fragile that you can’t say that the Cold War was won, the West won it and it was led by a combination of democratic and Republican presidents?

Barack Obama: There were a whole bunch of people around Eastern Europe who showed enormous courage, like the Iranians today, and…uhhh…I think that it is very important in this part of the world to acknowledge the degree to which people struggled for their own freedom. We don’t have to diminish other people in order to recognize our role in that history.

Keep in mind, this the same guy who had no trouble diminishing other people when he warned Republicans not to fight his socialist agenda by saying, “I won.”

Perhaps he couldn’t bring himself to say the West won the Cold War because his side considered it a defeat.

If you know what we mean.

From The One to The None: Obama pissed when Russian officials refuse to shake his hand

Barack Obama enters a room with Russian President Medvedev. They’re greeted by a reception line of Russian officials who refuse to shake hands with Barack Obama. Why, it’s almost as if the Greatest President in History isn’t even the Greatest President in the Room. And the best part is Obama’s reaction. The pissed off look on his face is priceless.

Marketing Blunder of the Year: Nigerian company gives itself a racially offensive name

A joint venture between Russia’s Gazprom and Nigeria’s state-owned NNPC has been named Nigaz, a racially offensive sounding name.

Next thing you know, Jesse jackson will be leading protests in Nigeria. At least it would get him out of this country.
Next thing you know, Jesse jackson will be leading protests in Nigeria. At least it would get him out of this country.

We’ve just passed the halfway mark of 2009, but it’s hard to believe anyone will make a bigger marketing blunder than this in the next six months.

A joint venture between Russia’s Gazprom and Nigeria’s state-owned NNPC has been named Nigaz.

A new FaceBook group called “Nigerians No Nigaz” has already been formed. They say the company’s name will undoubtedly be mis-pronounced in a way that will be offensive to black people (of which there are a considerable number in Nigeria).

“But it’s pronounced ‘nye-gaz,’” an idiotic company official whined.

In related news, a Norwegian company has formed a joint venture with an Iranian citrus company. It will reportedly be called NoJus.

Obama nuclear arms reduction policy was developed by know-it-all college student

Researchers have come across a magazine article written 26 years ago by Columbia student Barack Obama. Full transcript here. It was the height of the Cold War and Obama came up with a plan for the two super powers to “dial down the danger humanity faces.” In short, nuclear disarmament.

Barack Obama Breaking the War Mentailty, 1983 Columbia Magazine article page 1 of 3

Would you feel safer knowing that your nation’s nuclear policy was dreamed up by a naïve college student? We hope your answer was “yes,” because that’s exactly where you find yourself today.

The President is in Russia to work out a deal on nuclear arms reduction. It’s part of his long time vision of a nuclear-free world – the same vision he’s had since he was smoking dope and getting high in college.

Researchers have come across a magazine article written 26 years ago by Columbia student Barack Obama. It was the height of the Cold War and Obama came up with a plan for the two super powers to “dial down the danger humanity faces.” In short, nuclear disarmament.

One would hope that our leaders would become more sophisticated in their thinking as the years roll on and they gain maturity. But no such luck with Obama.

We don’t mind if the President wants to live in the past as long as it doesn’t interfere with us living in the future.

Following is the entire magazine article, typed out from a poster at the Free Republic:

The truth about Obama’s G8 global warming pact: It’s non-binding, India and China won’t sign it, Russia ignores it

President Obama’s G8 Global Warming Pact is non-binding. Got that? It’s non-binding. So non-binding, in fact, that Russia, which actually signed the treaty, has already said it has no intention of abiding by it.

Attendees at the recent G8 meetings in L'Aquila, Italy dined on polar bear tartare

This week, the global warming circus raised its tent at the G8 meetings in L’Aquila, Italy. According to the media, the world’s wisest leaders have saved the world by signing a new global warming pact.

Luckily, ABC News’ Jake Tapper cut through the crap and revealed a side of the story that’s absent from most reports and buried in others:

“The climate change provision sets a non-binding goal for a 50% reduction in greenhouse gases by 2050, using 1990 levels or later years as a base, with a goal for developed countries of 80%. The document pledges cooperation to limit the rise in global temperatures to no more than 2 degrees Celsius or 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit.”

“But achieving this is far more difficult than writing it on a piece of paper as a pledge, particularly with developing nations balking at the goal and complaining that the industrialized world hasn’t followed through with aid and technology to help them reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

Got that? It’s non-binding. So non-binding, in fact, that Russia, which actually signed the treaty, has already said it has no intention of abiding by it.

Arkady Dvorkovich, the top economic advisor to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said, “For us the 80 per cent figure is unacceptable and likely unattainable. We won’t sacrifice economic growth for the sake of emission reduction.”

He might as well have been speaking for India and China who aren’t G8 members and who have already said, “Thanks, but no thanks. We’re with Russia on this one.”

So on one hand, the solution to global warming was all smoke and mirrors. On the other hand, the leaders of the G8 did manage to have some very nice dinners and treated their bloated staffs to very nice Italian vacations.

Hillary presses “restart” button with Russians, restarts Khruschev era

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhXwcn3BksA America voted for hope and change. We just hope they like the change they’re getting.

According to CNN, the Russian government just announced that they may base long-range bombers in Cuba for the first time since the 1962 Cuban Missle Crisis.

When Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented her Russian counterpart with a special “Restart” button this week, he apparently took it as a sign his government could restart the Cold War.

Next thing you know, Vladimir Putin will channel Nikita Khruschev, show up at the United Nations, start pounding his shoe on the podium, and threaten to bury us.

You really need to upgrade your hiring process, President Obama. Next time you need a Secretary of State, may we suggest Craig’s List?

Clinton invades Biden’s turf, screws up twice in one day

Poor Joe Biden. Just when the verbally-challenged vice president thought he had secured his position as the administration’s buffoon-in-chief, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called his bluff.

Clinton gave Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a present today that was meant to symbolize President Obama’s promise to “press the reset button” on Russo-American relations.

When Lavrov unwrapped the gift, he found a big, red push button imprinted with a Russian word “peregruzka.”

“We worked hard to get the right Russian word,” Clinton joked. “Do you think we got it?”

“You got it wrong,” Lavrov said. He told Clinton the word on the button actually meant “overcharge.”

Hilarity ensued. Clinton cackled her phoniest demonic laugh and Lavrov laughed the rich, full laugh of a used car dealer about to unload a lemon at full retail.

“Damn it,” Hillary thought to herself, “I wonder how you say ‘$%#& Obama’ in Russian.”
