We believe it’s absolutely impossible to keep a straight face when you hear his latest material. You’d laugh even if he didn’t look like Butthead’s doppelganger.
Government officials just don’t come any funnier than Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.
We believe it’s absolutely impossible to keep a straight face when you hear his latest material. You’d laugh even if he didn’t look like Butthead’s doppelganger.
Here he is defending an op-ed he wrote last year when he announced the Summer of Recovery. This is, of course, despite record unemployment, increasing inflation, and an imploding economy.
She showed up on an Iranian TV interview show and said, among other things, that the United States government was responsible for the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Julius Caesar.
Need we bother saying that this lunatic is a Democrat?
Former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney seems to have found an eager audience in Iran. She showed up on an Iranian TV interview show and said, among other things, that the United States government was responsible for the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Julius Caesar.
(OK, we threw in Caesar. But she probably would have said it if she’d thought of it.)
What could make this story any better? How about the fact that she was in Iran at an United Nations-supported Conference on Global Fight Against Terrorism.
In the words of Saturday Night Live’s Emily Litella, “Never mind.” Turns out the Gulf Coast has never had so damn many birds.
Hmmmmm. Remember all those news stories that said the Deepwater Horizon oil spill was the greatest environmental disaster in history? You know, the ones that said the oil would devastate Gulf Coast wildlife for decades, that avian life would be decimated, that the Gulf Coast was a dead zone.
In the words of Saturday Night Live’s Emily Litella, “Never mind.” Turns out the Gulf Coast has never had so damn many birds.
Now we know what the laughing gull is laughing at: The environmentalists' predictions
Reuters has the avian info:
The 1,300-acre, man-made island is hosting more than 50,000 birds this summer as nesting pairs gather to raise babies. That number would be considered high in any year, but it’s a particularly surprising sight a year after oil from the BP spill fouled surrounding waters.
The Deepwater Horizon rig explosion spewed more than 168 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico over three months, the largest spill in U.S. history. But so far, there is no evidence of deformities or ill health among the young on Gaillard Island.
Scientists speculate that the baby boom probably results from an abundance of fish left undisturbed in waterways where the federal government banned commercial and recreational fishing last summer, providing a feast for shore birds.
Abundance of fish? But we thought the Gulf Coast waters were a dead zone in which nothing could live. But…but… but…
In a speech this spring, the executive director of the nearby Dauphin Island Sea Lab said the fish populations in that part of the Gulf were larger than he had ever seen.
The population of the pelicans, terns, laughing gulls, egrets, ibis and little blue and tricolored herons nesting on Gaillard Island is determined by the food supply, said Roger Clay, a wildlife biologist with the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
Now hold on just a darn second. We thought the few fish that didn’t die in the oil were horribly sickened by it, had given birth to deformed little fish fingers and that they would all end up devastating animals further up the food chain.
“If something was wrong with the food, the first place it would show is with the birds,” said Clay, also known as the “the pelican guy.”
In other words, if something were wrong with the science and the scientists, this is also the first place it would show up.
But let’s not talk about that. Hey, look over there. It’s a bright, shiny object.
Our advice to Mr. Reid? Heed the sage advice of another sage Harry: Our bucks stop here. And so should the debt ceiling.
Another week begins and with it the continued debate over raising the debt ceiling. And for now, we are happy to report, the Republicans are not caving to the tax and spend demands of those who need our money to make their fortunes.
Harry Reid salutes the Constitution
Let’s go to Politico:
With no agreement reached by Sunday afternoon, House and Senate leaders appear to be moving in different directions with competing plans to raise the nation’s debt ceiling, dramatically highlighting the major discord on Capitol Hill with eight days until the United States defaults on its $14.3 trillion debt.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) began to draft his own legislation Sunday that would slash at least $2.7 trillion to match an extension of the nation’s borrowing limit through the 2012 election, Democratic leadership aides said. Reid and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi met with President Barack Obama on Sunday evening.
Our advice to Mr. Reid? Heed the sage advice of another sage Harry: Our bucks stop here. And so should the debt ceiling.
The two staged photos bear remarkable similarity – same stony stares, same awkward poses, same complete unbelievability.
Phony Photo #1: President Obama and his family gather in the Situation Room to watch Navy SEALs raid of Osama Bin Laden’s Afghanistan compound.
Phony Photo #2: President Obama and his people gather to watch the United States Women’s National Soccer Team play Japan in the finals of the Women’s World Cup championship game.
Oh, wait. Our mistake. We got the photo captions switched. But in our defense, the two staged photos bear remarkable similarity – same stony stares, same awkward poses, same complete unbelievability.
The hacked electronic sign at the intersection of Unionville-Indian Trail and Ridge roads in Union County was changed to read “Impeach Obama.”
Forget the bogus polls produced by the media fellators – when road signs turn against a politician, he’s cooked.
No matter how many of those “This waste of money courtesy of American Non-recovery and Malinvestment Act” signs Obama bought, none of them mean as much as one honest electronic sign.
Consider it a sign of the times
WSOCTV.com has the story of a sign of the times:
A Department of Transportation electronic road sign was apparently hacked into and the road warning changed over the weekend.
Hacked? We can hear Jay Carney now babbling something about GW Bush’s secret computer skills.
The sign at the intersection of Unionville-Indian Trail and Ridge roads in Union County was changed to read “Impeach Obama.”
The sign was corrected Sunday night, officials said.
Good thing they fixed it. Impeachment is a long drawn-out process and the Democrat weiners in the Senate would never convict him. Better to vote Barry out of office in 2012 and then procescute him.
Electronic road signs were also hacked several months ago in Rock Hill. Instead of displaying political messages, those signs warned of zombies, hunters and tanks in the roadway ahead.
We beg to differ. Zombies and tanking pretty much ARE political messages in the age of the greatest presidential failure ever. All the signs were there before the last election, and even more of them are visible now.
Why doesn’t Congress simply vote on Obama’s plan? Where, reporters ask, is Obama’s plan? Good question. Watch as The Carney Barker spends ten minutes not answering it.
For the past month, the country has been on a wild goof chase over the debt ceiling issue. Numerous plans to tackle the problem have emerged from the congressional side, all of which were unacceptable to His Golfship.
Why doesn’t Congress simply vote on Obama’s plan? Where, reporters ask, is Obama’s plan? Good question. Watch as The Carney Barker spends ten minutes not answering it:
Jay Carney: “The president stood before you on Friday night and put forward in detail with numbers what he’s willing to do…”
Talk is cheap, Jay, especially Obama’s. Later, Jay puts a little meat on dem bones:
Jay Carney: “We’ve shown a lot of leg on what we were proposing…”
Is that Obama-speak for “The dog ate our debt plan”? Believe it or not, we’re closing in on the truth. Jay is too ashamed to say it so he hints at it:
Jay Carney: “Is it because you need something printed for you, you can’t write it down [yourself]?”
Writing’s the problem. We understand perfectly. During his magnificent college career, Barry delivered all his classwork via telepathy: just concentrate real hard and beam his insights on Marxist flatulence right to Professor Mushmouth’s brain. He never expected to encounter knuckle-draggers who bother reading stuff, so he never deigned to learn the useless skill.
Please Mr. President, humor us. Pull out your plan and write it down for us.
If you can’t do it yourself, call Bill Ayers. He did an outstanding job writing your other works of fiction.
Barbara Lee says House Republicans are engaged in a reprehensible canard meant to convince the gullible citizens that the fact that their country has run out of money is a “crises.”
Call Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Representative Barbara Lee of California has stumbled upon the greatest conspiracy of our era. An insidious plot that makes the faked moon landing look like the work of a high school AV club and that JFK business mere child’s play.
According to Lee House Republicans are engaged in a reprehensible canard meant to convince the gullible citizens that the fact that their country has run out of money is a “crises.”
Barbara Lee. Or maybe Sugar Ray Leonard in drag. We're not sure which.
The truth is out there. And CNS brings it to us:
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) released a statement Monday saying the “debt crisis” has been “manufactured by House Republicans” who are “attempting to advance an extremist agenda.”
“The current, so-called ‘debt crisis’ has been completely manufactured by House Republicans attempting to advance an extremist agenda.
This should be a simple vote to allow the US Treasury to fund all of the programs and obligations of the entire federal government that are already in the law,” said Rep. Lee in a statement handed out to reporters before a Democratic press conference on jobs at the Capitol.
Rep. Lee has called for Congress to increase the debt limit with no strings attached like spending cuts.
It is clear to us now that our Republic is in good standing so long as there are public servants out there like Lee. Brave souls willing to defend this country against that nefarious and extremist agenda of fiscal sanity and sound economic policy.
Fox News relates a tale of underhanded scaremongering for personal political advantage – in other words, just another day at the Oval Office in the Obama Administration:
What do you call a guy who yells “Fire!” in a crowded theatre while texting his cronies “Chill out and get ready to snap up free popcorn”?
Unfortunately, the proper appellation in this case would be “Mr. President”.
"Fire! Fire! Fire! Just kidding! Just kidding! Just kidding!"
Fox News relates a tale of underhanded scaremongering for personal political advantage – in other words, just another day at the Oval Office in the Obama Administration:
While officials from the Obama Administration raised their rhetoric over the weekend about the possibility of a debt default if the debt ceiling isn’t raised, they privately have been telling top executives at major U.S. banks that such an event won’t happen….
…administration officials have told bankers that the administration will not allow a default to happen even if the debt cap isn’t raised by the August 2 date Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner says the government will run out of money to pay all its bills, including obligations to bond holders.
A senior banking official told FOX Business that administration officials have provided guidance to them that […] a default is off the table…
This guidance is a big reason why Wall Street has largely dismissed the possibility of default…
“They also know they can pay the debt with cash on hand,” this official told FOX Business.
Obamunists scream “Republican monsters are going to eat your social security checks!” to grandmothers while nudging the bankers and whispering, “Don’t take this crap seriously.”
The traditional Washington way to solve a sticky problem is to create a blue-ribbon commission, task it to find a solution and issue a report, then ignore whatever it produces.
The traditional Washington way to solve a sticky problem is to create a blue-ribbon commission, task it to find a solution and issue a report, then ignore whatever it produces. Works every time. But the current bunch is not satisfied with the tired old ways of doing things and is proposing a BOLD NEW initiative!
Hey, let's turn Congress upside down
Huffing and Puffing Post breaks the news:
Debt ceiling negotiators think they’ve hit on a solution to address [tax and spending issues]….
Create a new Congress.
This “Super Congress,” composed of members of both chambers and both parties… would be granted extraordinary new powers. Under a plan put forth by Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Harry Reid (D-Nev.), [legislation would create] a 12-member panel made up of 12 lawmakers — six from each chamber and six from each party.
Legislation approved by the Super Congress…would then be fast-tracked through both chambers, where it COULDN’T be amended by simple, regular lawmakers, who’d have the ability only to cast an up or down vote. With the weight of both leaderships behind it, a product originated by the Super Congress would have a strong chance of moving through the little Congress and quickly becoming law.
Pardon our stupidity, but what makes anyone think this evenly divided body will be able to agree on a lunch order, let alone solutions to contentious financial problems?
If they do produce something useful, the Little Congress can’t ignore it so voting no is the next best thing. And lastly, the biggest obstacle to progress isn’t even in Congress. If we’re not mistaken, he’s probably on about the 14th hole about now.
We’d never heard of the Tampa Bay duo and then one day a big name east coast talk radio program director suggested that we should include them on our list.

The current president of the United States seems not to know how anything works. But that’s no problem when you’re willing to just make crap up.
The current president of the United States seems not to know how anything works. But that’s no problem when you’re willing to just make crap up. Ironically, the world’s smartest man apparently considers his ignorance a feature and not a bug.
Case in point: The President has repeatedly implied that social security payments might stop if the debt ceiling issue is not resolved.
Step One: President speaks. Step Two: Push the button.
Stanford Law Professor Michael McConnell calls the president on this egregious lie:
The Social Security trust fund holds about $2.4 trillion in U.S. Treasury bonds, which its trustees are legally entitled to redeem whenever Social Security is running a current account deficit. Thus, if we reach the debt ceiling ….this is what will happen. The Social Security trust fund will go to Treasury and cash in some of its securities, using the proceeds to send checks to recipients. Each dollar of debt that is redeemed will lower the outstanding public debt by a dollar. That enables the Treasury to borrow another dollar, without violating the debt ceiling. The debt ceiling is not a prohibition on borrowing new money; it is a prohibition on increasing the total level of public indebtedness. If Social Security cashes in some of its bonds, the Treasury can borrow that same amount of money from someone else.
Addition and subtraction, maybe that’s his problem.
George Soros promised Obama if he took the job, there would be no math. Or history, or science, or geography. Just talking and vacations.
More likely telling the truth is just one more thing that’s above the man’s pay grade.
Sarah Palin reminds the country of what the media conveniently chooses to forget – President Obama’s prominent role in forcing the country to bang its head on the debt ceiling every day for the past month.
Sarah Palin reminds the country of what the media conveniently chooses to forget – President Obama’s prominent role in forcing the country to bang its head on the debt ceiling every day for the past month.
And at the end of the second inning the score stands at Palin 1, Obama 0
Let’s go to Palin’s Facebook page for the money quotes:
[Obama] proposed an absurdly irresponsible budget that would increase our debt by trillions of dollars, and whose party failed to even put forward a budget in over 800 days!
Not coincidentally, 800 days is as long as he’s been in office.
[Obama] is pushing our country to the brink because of his reckless spending on things like the nearly trillion dollar “stimulus” boondoggle.
His current “untouchable” sacred cow boondoggles include hi-speed rail, Obamacare and “green” jobs.
[Obama] ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations and demonized the voices of fiscal sanity …wanted to push through an increase in the debt ceiling that didn’t include any cuts in government spending! …wants to slam Americans with tax hikes to cover his reckless spending …hasn’t put forward a responsible plan himself, but has rejected reasonable proposals that would tackle our debt. …who still refuses to understand that the American electorate rejected his big government agenda last November.
“We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.”
And that includes his damn vacations.
He has been deemed a lame duck president. And he is angry now because he is being treated as such.
We had to check twice, but she did say “duck.” Although spelling it with an “i” would also have been correct.
Government is very good at screwing stuff up, and then selling us on a solution that screws things up still more, and then selling us yet another screwup.
We occasionally give Frequent IHateTheMedia.com commenter Perlcat a soapbox. He climbs aboard and issues one of his epic rants:
I don’t want a balanced budget amendment.
Let me explain.
Government is very good at screwing stuff up, and then selling us on a solution that screws things up still more, and then selling us yet another screwup. It’s like an out-of-control episode of the Three Stooges, but with tequila and lots of Other People’s Money.
How high can it go?
Why is a BBA on the table in the first place? Because our politicians lack the political will to keep government at the proper size, doing the proper things. A lot of the things they have going on now are well outside of the constitution. Yes, I know, they got rulings favorable to them in a lot of cases — but in many more situations, they simply ignore the Constitution. You can’t tell me that, for example, raising the national drinking age by tying it to highway funds is within the spirit of the Constitution. If it was, they’d simply vote directly upon it. They have no mandate, so they use excess tax money that they confiscated beyond their needs to violate the Constitution in spirit.
If you think that the BBA will keep government in check from doing the things that they aren’t supposed to do, what makes you think that they will pay attention to this one, too? Examples from human nature:

Joan Walsh showed up with Michael Steele on the Chris Matthews show and hilarity ensued.
Joan Walsh has done a remarkable job of making herself look completely unqualified to work on network television. She’s racking up a series of idiotic quotes that, if continued, will merit her a personalized section in Roget’s Thesaurus.
She showed up with Michael Steele on the Chris Matthews show and hilarity ensued. Well, Steele was, admittedly, the only one who found Walsh’s comments funny, but he found them very funny.
Walsh: Well, right. Well, Reagan was very much a conservative, and I didn’t agree with him on much, but he was a pragmatist and a compromiser. And the fact of the matter is, Chris, I heard my friend Michael talk about the Constitution and the Tea Party likes to talk about the Constitution and the Founders, but the fact is the Founders didn’t agree on very much at all. Steele: Right. Walsh: The Founders argued about a lot of things, and they created a system in which we had to talk to one another and had to compromise. This President, President Obama, who I don’t always agree with either, is actually the Reagan figure here. Steele: [Laughs] Walsh: He is the person saying… Matthews: Why are you laughing? Walsh: …you know what, I’m going to disappoint some folks. Steele: Okay. [Continues laughing] Walsh: Please don’t laugh at me, Michael. I didn’t laugh at you. Matthews: Why are you laughing, Michael? Steele: When you say something funny, I’m going to laugh. Matthews: Why’s it funny? Walsh: Why’s it funny?
This exchange explains the theory behind IHateTheMedia.com in a nutshell: The left can’t stand being laughed at.
In this case, we can’t figure out which they like least: Being laughed at or being unable to figure out why they’re being laughed at.
Recently Social Security began paying out more than it took in taxes, years ahead of schedule. Even worse, the leak in the box will soon become a flood.
Perhaps a better headline would have said “a bunch of a-holes in it”, namely Congress. Recently Social Security began paying out more than it took in taxes, years ahead of schedule. Even worse, the leak in the box will soon become a flood.
Think of the bucket as the Social Security Trust Fund
Bob Krumm explains:
Imagine that my wife and I both work and that she sets aside 15% of her income for retirement and gives that 15% to me. I go through the years spending all of my income, plus all of the 15% that she gives me, plus a little bit more. Eventually, my wife starts to ask questions about her retirement fund. “Relax,” I tell her. “You’ve been ‘earning’ 5% interest on that money.” And I hand her a nice little official looking annual accounting statement to that effect. Unbeknownst to her, I’m only adding that 5% interest to that amount that I “owe” her. In truth, I’ll never pay her that money. It doesn’t exist. It’s already spent, and I don’t have the income earning potential to ever repay it. But–and this is the key point–that amount I owe my wife is not a debt in the legal sense. Sure, I still have other debts; remember, I’ve been spending all of my income, plus 15% of hers, plus a little bit more. That “little bit more” is money that I owe to outside creditors. And I will have to pay them back or they will make my life miserable. When my wife finds out that there is no money for her, my life will be miserable too. But that’s a different kind of misery–one that will lead to a bitter and nasty divorce.
We are the wife, the political class is the husband. When the wife finds out, the husband will be out on his ass. That’s what all the fuss is really all about.
Just when it seemed that America was on the brink of being forced into fiscal responsibility the Gang of Six rides into town and makes life safe again for government to live beyond our means.
Just when it seemed that America was on the brink of being forced into fiscal responsibility the Gang of Six rides into town and makes life safe again for government to live beyond our means.
The Gang of Sicks
Reason provides what is largely missing from Washington DC:
Yesterday, the so-called Gang of Six—a cadre of Republican and Democratic Senators working independently from the administration and Congressional leadership—released a proposal to reduce the projected federal deficit by $3.7 trillion over the next decade. According to The Washington Post, it “requires lawmakers in the coming months to cut agency spending, overhaul Social Security and Medicare, and rewrite the tax code to generate more than $1 trillion in fresh revenue.” It’s so…so…bipartisan. But maybe not in an entirely good way.
In a nice overview of the plan, Cato’s Dan Mitchell points out that, as usual, the headline deficit reduction figures don’t represent real reductions from current spending levels; instead, they’re cuts from projected growth. There are a few things to like about the plan, however, including its reduction of both the top personal and corporate tax rates and its obliteration of the CLASS Act.
But many of the particulars are still vague, especially when it comes to health care. Despite what the Post suggests, there is no major overhaul of Medicare. The plan calls for $200 billion in overall health care savings, but from where? We don’t yet know.
Call us crazy but we get a bit leery when a plan to “increase revenue” and cut spending can’t pinpoint where exactly those spending cuts are going to be. Because we all know where the revenue increases are coming from. Our paychecks.
Contessa Brewer took on Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) on the debt ceiling. Contessa possibly assumed she was dealing with Mel Brooks when she challenged his qualifications.
MSNBC hires only the best. We’re just not sure what it is they’re best at.
Contessa Brewer took on Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) on the debt ceiling. Contessa possibly assumed she was dealing with Mel Brooks when she challenged his qualifications.
Real Clear Politics has the play-by-play:
Today, Contessa “educated” a conservative Representative that if Congress does not raise the debt raising, the country would be “reverting into a depression.” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he disagreed which prompted the MSNBC host to ask him if he had a degree in economics.
“Yes ma’am, I do. Highest honors,” Rep. Brooks responded.
According to his Congressional page: “Mo graduated from Duke University in three years with a double major in political science and economics, with highest honors in economics. In 1978, he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School.”
FYI, Ms. Brewer has a BA from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. According to Wikipedia, that is “the communications school at Syracuse University. It has programs in print and broadcast journalism; advertising; public relations; and television and film.” Apparently, no economics degrees are necessary when one’s a “journalist” repeating Democrat talking points.
Oh, yes, and does Barack Obama have an economics degree? Maybe someone can dig up his transcripts (we mean that literally as they seem to have been buried in one of the holes he’s constantly trying to dig out of) and look that up, along with proof of the “highest honors” that the media keeps insisting he received.
So it’s either an invasion or your privacy or an invasion of your privates. According to Judge Douglas Ginsburg this excellent choice is all yours.
We can just imagine it. James Madison slipping into bed after a harrowing day of Constitution construction and dreaming happy dreams of the future republic in which agents of the state had the authority to force citizens to expose their genitals to their photographic devices.
Ridiculous you say. Madison knew nothing of modern imaging techniques. True enough. But such reasoning wasn’t enough to dissuade the DC Circuit Court from ruling that such was the founder’s intent.
Even those big ass glasses didn't stop Ginsburg from making a myopic decision
In the opinion from the D.C. Circuit Court, Judge Douglas Ginsburg writes that the advance imaging technology is not unreasonable given the security concerns on airplanes, and that people have the option to opt out for a pleasurable patdown. The court notes that some “have complained that the resulting patdown was unnecessarily aggressive,” but the judges don’t seem overly concerned about that. Ginsburg writes:
“On the other side of the balance, we must acknowledge the steps the TSA has already taken to protect passenger privacy, in particular distorting the image created using AIT and deleting it as soon as the passenger has been cleared. More telling, any passenger may opt-out of AIT screening in favor of a patdown, which allows him to decide which of the two options for detecting a concealed, nonmetallic weapon or explosive is least invasive.”
So it’s either an invasion or your privacy or an invasion of your privates. According to Judge Douglas Ginsburg this excellent choice is all yours.
We asked Mandy to describe her show and she said, “My show is a snarky commentary on politics with healthy doses of Real Housewives of Anywhere updates.”
Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) will introduce a bill that will allow all Americans to apply for a waiver from the President’s health care law.
We’ve long thought the way out of the Obamacare mess is to let the damn bill stand, but make everyone exempt from it. That way, the President gets to keep his “signature achievement” and we get to escape his half-witted Marxist quackery.
They've already granted 1500 exemptions. Why not 310,000,000?
Our new BFF, Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) is on the same page. We quote from his statement:
“As of today, over 3.2 million Americans have received a get out of Obamacare free pass from the Administration. If the law worked well, companies and unions would not demand a way out of its expensive mandates. Each waiver demonstrates that the President’s health care law is a complete failure. The law continues to crush jobs, increase premiums and encourage government controlled health care.
“It’s not fair that a particular group of Americans, including union employees, don’t have to abide by the law. Millions of other Americans across the country deserve the same freedom.
“Next week, I will introduce a bill that will allow all Americans to apply for a waiver from the President’s health care law. This law will deliver choice to Americans who want to get the care they need, from the doctor they want, at a price they can afford.”
The word “choice” used in a context other than abortions is a change we can believe in. We would love to see more bills like this introduced week after week until Obama retires. Hopefully, in January 2013.
Surely Democrat and media heads will explode but not to worry, flying feces rarely causes injury.
We present a man who believes our USSR, the Democrat Party, is also on a high speed train bound for the dustbin of history.
Back in the late 1940s, U.S. diplomat and historian George Kennan predicted “either the break-up or the gradual mellowing of Soviet power.” Few believed him but four decades later it came to pass. In juxtaposition, we present a man who believes our USSR, the Democrat Party, is also on a high speed train bound for the dustbin of history.
It was a hell of a party, but you knew it wasn't going to end well
From Richard Miniter in Forbes:
This week’s fight over raising the federal debt limit exposes a key weakness in the warfare-welfare state that has bestowed power onto the Democratic Party: Without an ever-growing share of the economy, it dies. Every vital element of the Democrats’ coalition — unions, government workers, government contractors, “entitlement” consumers — requires constant increases in payments, grants and consulting contracts. Without those payments, they don’t sign checks to re-elect Democrats.
Like it or not, Obama is not the new FDR, but the new Gorbachev: a man forced to preside over the demise of a political system he desperately wants to save.
The community organizer is, in reality, a community disorganizer.
But as Margaret Thatcher said, “The trouble with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money”. “Eventually” may be now.
The only major element of the Democratic base that doesn’t receive government payments is the professional class (lawyers, engineers, stock brokers and so on). These high-earners amount to less than 5% of the population and are not reliable Democrat donors.
The Democrat Party, busily buying votes with your money. Where does the Party of Parasites eat when the host vanishes? It eats crap and dies.
