Greedy corporatist Russell Simmons is getting rich off the backs of the poor! A recent article on Russell Simmons (here at IHTM) got us thinking . . . what are the chances that Russell Simmons anti-corporate rhetoric is a lot of hokum poised to gain him favor and standing in the estimation of the naive and ill informed? As it turns out the chances are pretty good. But on the bright side we have learned a pretty good lesson here. And we now finally understand how exactly it is that rich people get even richer off the backs of the poor. Russell Simmons does it by using his influence and cache to convince the financially incompetent to eschew the responsible path and choose a fee-laden pre-paid card so that he can get his grubby -but well manicured- fingers on a percentage of their paychecks, tax returns and *ahem* “benefit” checks. But we’re not that surprised. Russell Simmons is just another greedy one-percenter who doesn’t put his money where is mouth is . . . rather he tries to put your money where he figures your mouth should be.
