Scarborough: Like Radical Islam, ‘Ultrafundamentalist’ Christianity Could Also Lead to Violence. And so continues the false equivalence between “Radical” Islam and “Fundamentalist” Christianity. This incorrect premise largely results from an obfuscation of terms. Islamists acting like Mohamed are not radicals. They may be called reactionaries, they may be called fundamentalists and the may be called orthodox. But they are not radicals. They are the ones practicing their religion in the manner intended by the man who created it and in the manner that he himself practiced it. On the other hand Christians given to violence in the spreading of religion (which me must assume could happen, as those making this argument have no contemporary examples through which to maintain their comparison) are not Christians at all. Given this it is easy to see that Slow Joe Scarborough is not just wrong, he is as wrong as he could possibly be.
