I have a couple of friends who immigrated here, legally, and became American citizens. But they don’t think they are Iranians, they are Persians and are Christian. They belong to the B’nai B’rith, which is an offshoot of the Jewish faith. My wife and I were invited to attend the wedding of one of the friends and it was a beautiful ceremony. People can get along, all they have to do is try and it doesn’t matter what your religious beliefs are. Unfortunately Muslims don’t look at it that way. They think you have to be one of them or you can be killed. If you are a woman you have the right to cook, clean, and take care of children and that is it. If Muslims would join the modern world they would understand that most of us would welcome them! We Christians would go to their celebrations, they would be welcome at ours. All they have to do is join the modern world and quit living in the 14th century.

I’ve noticed that too, that people from that area who have assimilated generally call themselves Persians rather than Iranians. I don’t know what that means.

From what I have heard and read the country was Persia until the 1930’s when the Shah’s and Mullahs, Muslims, started taking over and the country was re-named Iran. These guys were engineers and surveyors. I worked with them on a few jobs building housing developments in the Albuquerque area. They drew up the plans, I ran the crews that did the water, sewer, gas and electric installations. Then leveled the lots so the home builders could come in and do their thing. On a couple of jobs we also did all the curb and gutter work and paved the streets. These men are hard working, good honest men. The wife and I were invited to have a meal with their parents a few times and they were wonderful people. When their father found out I was a veteran he told me a few stories about that place that would curl your hair. He packed up his family in the early 1970’s and immigrated to America. They did it the right way, became American citizens, and I am proud to say they are my friends.

Excellent, although this story will go unreported in the MSM. Trump ought to issue a tweet promising to sell “assault” weapons on credit to Iranian rebels; that would cause massive psychic trauma to sensitive Progressives everywhere.

Why not? Obama sold weapons to Mexican drug cartels and nothing happened to him so apparently that sort of thing is okay.
