Sharon Angle campaign offers Harry Reid’s greatest hits at The Harry Reid Soundboard

We love “The Harry Reid Soundboard”, a funnier-than-hell website created by the Angle campaign. And it didn’t really take much work – all they had to do was collect some of the stupidest things Reid has ever said.

We like Sharon Angle, the Republican who’s running against Harry Reid. But quite honestly, Wile E. Coyote would have our vote if he were running against Harry Reid.

So, naturally, we love “The Harry Reid Soundboard”, a funnier-than-hell website created by the Angle campaign. And it didn’t really take much work – all they had to do was collect some of the stupidest things Reid has ever said.

So spend a view moments listening to Reid be Reid. Then let us know if you’d cast your vote for Angle or Reid or Coyote.

For months, the media’s been pounding home the meme that the Tea Party is filled with extremists and racists who live out their angry lives far beyond the American mainstream.

And now new research shows that those idiot Americans have ignored the media and made up their own minds about Reid and Pelosi?

harry reid nancy pelosi
Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Less popular than the Tea Party, marginally more popular than gonorrhea

Damn it, people, why do you refuse to cooperate with your intellectual superiors in the media?

The Hill reports the people’s preferences:

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed that 30 percent view the grassroots conservative groups very or somewhat positively compared to 34 percent who view them very or somewhat negatively.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was seen positively by 21 percent of those polled and 46 percent viewed her negatively. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) received a lower positive rating, 11 percent, but also a lower negative rating of 31 percent.

The numbers indicate that the public is dissatisfied with the way Congress has been run; 32 percent believe that this Congress’ overall performance and accomplishments are “one of the worst.” Only 4 percent say that Congress has done above average or excellent work.

So remind us once again – who are the extremists?

Politico reports that “During just a few weeks, the Senate majority leader racked up $56,000 in individual contributions from registered lobbyists, according to an analysis of his latest campaign fund raising records, which cover the final days before the Nevada primary through the end of June.”

In fact, the article continues, “Through the first quarter of 2010, Reid has raised nearly $640,000 from the lobbying industry, making it the fourth biggest source of funds for his campaign coffers, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

“Isn’t it a good thing today in America that we have an automobile manufacturing sector?” the Democrat senator from Nevada said on Monday. “If it had been up to them [the Republicans], General Motors would be gone. Earth to Harry: Ford didn’t partake of the government’s largesse.

Harry Reid says, “Illegal aliens? Nope. None of those guys here in Nevada.”

Just when the latest Rasmussen poll showed Harry Reid climbing within three points of his Republican opponent, the doddering old Democrat went out and said something guaranteed to send his poll numbers in the opposite direction.

Just when the latest Rasmussen poll showed Harry Reid climbing within three points of his Republican opponent, the doddering old Democrat went out and said something guaranteed to send his poll numbers in the opposite direction.

Believe it or not, he told KLAS-TV reporter Nathan Baca that no illegal aliens are working in Nevada’s construction industry.

Baca: Why didn’t you allow for a vote?
Reid: That’s the reason we need to do comprehensive immigration reform. We cannot do it piecemeal.
Baca: You go to the unemployment office, though, and there’s many US citizens who are unemployed construction workers and they don’t have specific jobs because, right now, some of those construction companies find it easier to hire undocumented workers.
Reid: I think that any information you have in that regard is absolutely without foundation
Baca: We told Senator Reid of a Pew Hispanic Center study showing 17% of all construction workers are here illegally.
Reid: That may be someplace, but it’s not here in Nevada.
Baca: But their latest 2009 numbers show that Nevada is the state with the highest percentage of unauthorized immigrants in the labor force.

Amazing, isn’t it, that someone who opposes the Second Amendment was so quick to pull out a gun and shoot himself in the foot.

We just have one question for Harry: If there are no illegals working in Nevada’s construction industry, how do you explain those lunch wagons pulling up at construction sites while playing La Cucaracha?

Harry Reid’s son is running for governor. And from his last name.

You know things are going poorly for Harry Reid when his son Rory, who’s running for governor of Nevada, won’t use the family name in his campaign.

Reid has become a four-letter word in Nevada, so Harry’s son has scrubbed it from his commercials, his ads, and his website. He’s no longer Rory Reid. He’s become just plain Rory. One name. Rory.

This is, after all, Las Vegas. That one name affectation worked out pretty well for Cher, Liberace, Sigfried & Roy and Liza, but odds are Rory won’t be as lucky.

Harry Reid says the Republicans are making sweet, sweet love to Wall Street

Reid charged that Republicans are stalling action on a Wall Street reform bill because “they are having difficulty determining how they’re going to continue making love to Wall Street” by resisting banking regulation.

Put a log in the fireplace, lower the lights, and cue up a little Barry White mood music. Ohhhhh, baby.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) accused Republicans Wednesday of “making love to Wall Street.”

Reid charged that Republicans are stalling action on a Wall Street reform bill because “they are having difficulty determining how they’re going to continue making love to Wall Street” by resisting banking regulation.

You know what? We’re about to the point where we’re ready to cut poor ol’ Harry Reid some slack.

Sure, he says crazy ass things like the Republicans are making love to Wall Street. But no one should be surprised by his crazy crap at this point.

This is the same guy who accidentally voted against his own healthcare reform bill twice. And to complete the trifecta, accidentally voted against his own banking regulation bill.

A note to the Reid family: Please reserve a room for Grandpa Harry at the retirement home in Winnemucca. He’ll be needing it come November.

Andrea Mitchell admits that Harry Reid is a dead man walking

As if anticipating the inevitable, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell confessed, “There’s been no funeral yet. The body is still warm. But they do want to each jockey for position.”

These two make Reid seem warm and likeable. Not an easy task to accomplish.

Harry Reid has given up and decided to commit suicide

In a state where ObamaCare and illegal aliens are about as popular as gonorrhea, the Senate majority leader has unwisely announced that “We’re gonna do immigration reform just like we did healthcare reform.” And he pledges to bring it up this year. As in prior to the election in which he already lags far behind every potential opponent.

Interesting strategy, soon-to-be former Senator Reid.

This isn’t the year for Democrats to run for office in Nevada. Especially if their name is Reid.

Republican Brian Sandoval now leads Rory Reid by 21 points in Nevada’s race for governor, but even embattled GOP incumbent Jim Gibbons has moved into a virtual tie with the Democratic hopeful.

Rory Reid looks like his father, but lacks his trademark charisma

The morning of November 3, 2010 will not be a happy one in the homes of any Nevada Democrats cursed with the last name Reid.

Rasmussen reveals the sad news for Harry Reid’s son Rory:

Republican Brian Sandoval now leads Rory Reid by 21 points in Nevada’s race for governor, but even embattled GOP incumbent Jim Gibbons has moved into a virtual tie with the Democratic hopeful.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in Nevada shows Sandoval, a former state attorney general and judge, now leading Reid 55% to 34%. A month ago, the GOP frontrunner was ahead by 18 points, 53% to 35%. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

But Reid also now trails his two other top GOP rivals. His father, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, continues to struggle against his three top Republican opponents in the state’s U.S. Senate race.

Mike Montandon, the mayor of North Las Vegas, posts a 45% to 38% lead over Rory Reid, currently chairman of the influential Clark County Board of Commissioners. Given that match-up, nine percent (9%) like some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided. In March, Montandon had a 42% to 37% lead.

Gibbons, whose unpopularity is attested to by the challenges for the governor nomination within his own party, now edges Reid 45% to 43%, after trailing the Democrat by eight points a month ago. Eight percent (8%) want some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

Nice to see that Rory Reid is following in his father’s footsteps.

That Magic Touch: Obama campaigns for Reid, Reid loses ground in polls

Proving once again that the magic touch is gone, President Obama’s campaign appearances for Harry Reid helped the popularity-challenged Senator lose ground among Nevada voters.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reveals the depressing details:

During his whirlwind visit to Las Vegas two weeks ago, President Barack Obama mentioned U.S. Sen. Harry Reid by name four dozen times, gave him a big hug and talked him up as if he was a long-lost brother.

(IHTM Editor’s Note: Despite Obama’s assertion that Reid is a long-long brother, Reid does not appear to have a negro dialect. So we think the President may be mistaken.)

In remarks that could not have been more laudatory, Obama repeatedly characterized the veteran Democratic leader as a man “made of very strong stuff” who was making the right decisions for the state back in the nation’s capital.

But as Reid faces an uphill path to win re-election to a fifth Senate term, Obama’s enthusiastic endorsement does not appear to have improved the Senate majority leader’s standing among constituents, according to a new poll conducted for the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Reid got no bounce from Obama’s visit on Feb. 19, when the president spoke highly of him at Green Valley High School and to business leaders at CityCenter, polling indicates.

A larger percentage of voters surveyed (17 percent) said they would be less likely to vote for Reid following the president’s visit than said they would be more likely to vote for him (7 percent). Seventy-five percent said Obama’s visit would have no effect on how they vote.

“Reid was not helped, and Obama was not any more popular than he was before he came to the state,” said Brad Coker, managing director at Mason-Dixon Polling & Research.

Based on Obama’s campaign successes in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, we eagerly anticipate his campaign tour prior to the November elections.

Go, Barack, go.

When Harry met Barry: No wonder these guys want “Don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Obama and Reid plan to cling to each other through the storm. The two politicians will be by each other’s side at three events in less than 24 hours.

Have you ever seen The Tao of Steve? Apparently Harry Reid has. The film’s protagonist lives by a strict set of rules that enhance his potential for sexual conquests.

The first rule is “Women can smell an agenda.” In other words, by pretending you’re not buying what they’re selling, they’re yours. For example, maybe you could disagree with something they say.

Hmm. Politico reports:

Obama irked Reid when for the second time he used Las Vegas to highlight poor economic decisions, saying, “You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you’re trying to save for college.” Reid fired back, telling Obama to “lay off Las Vegas.”

The second rule is to do something great, “thus demonstrating your…worthiness.”

At times Obama questioned Reid’s approach, but he ultimately trusted that he knew his caucus better than the president did. And Reid ultimately got the job done, passing a health care bill in a dramatic Christmas Eve vote hours before Obama jetted off to Hawaii with his family for the holidays.

And the third rule is “play hard to get.” So it’s not surprising that we would find Obama

…blindsided last week by Reid’s decision to abort a bipartisan jobs bill…

So just how effective is the message of “The Tao of Steve?” According to Politico:

Obama and Reid plan to cling to each other through the storm.

The two politicians will be by each other’s side at three events in less than 24 hours.

Cling all you want, gentlemen. It’s a don’t-ask-don’t-tell-world and in the immortal words of Sgt Shultz, we zee nozhing.

Harry Reid announces that he’ll begin beating his wife on November 3, 2010

Senate Democrat leader Harry Reid says unemployed men beat their wives. And since Harry will undoubtedly be unemployed as of Wednesday, November 3, we suggest that Mrs. Reid take a self-defense course or two.

The Hill reports the story of Punchy Harry’s pugilistic prognostications:

Reid, speaking in the midst of a Senate debate over whether to pass a $15 billion package meant to spur job creation, appeared to argue that joblessness would lead to more domestic violence.

“I met with some people while I was home dealing with domestic abuse. It has gotten out of hand,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “Why? Men don’t have jobs.”

Reid said that the effects of joblessness on domestic violence were especially pronounced among men, because, Reid said, women tend to be less abusive.

“Women don’t have jobs either, but women aren’t abusive, most of the time,” he said.

“Men, when they’re out of work, tend to become abusive,” the majority leader added. “Our domestic crisis shelters in Nevada are jammed.”

Our money’s on Mrs. Reid. We’re pretty sure she can beat that pasty, sunken-chested little fella like a drum.

Of course, it won’t be nearly as bad as the beating he gets from his Republican opponent.

Obama blows $1.5 billion in Vegas after telling you not to blow your money in Vegas

Sure, those states are hard hit. But Obama announced his largesse in Las Vegas was to help the hardest hit of all, poll-challenged Nevada Senator Harry Reid.

Last week President Obama warned Americans not to spend money like the federal government does. Specifically, don’t go to Las Vegas and bet it all on one spin of the roulette wheel.

Then this week he traveled to Las Vegas and said, “We’re going to spend another $1.5 billion on another wacky liberal scheme to save your house. And by the way, vote for Harry Reid.” OK, perhaps that’s not an exact quote, but it’s a reasonable approximation.

Obama’s move, detailed by aides in advance of his town hall here Friday, is the latest by a White House determined to show it is helping families rebound from a deep recession. The downturn is taking an election-year toll on Obama’s party as voter frustration builds.

Obama was to announce that housing finance agencies in the five hardest-hit states in the housing crisis will receive $1.5 billion to help spur local solutions to the problem. Those five are Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan and Nevada.

Sure, those states are hard hit. But Obama announced his largesse in Las Vegas was to help the hardest hit of all, poll-challenged Nevada Senator Harry Reid.

This guy has poll numbers that make Obama’s look positively robust. And $1.5 billion of your tax dollars is a mere pittance if it will help keep one Democrat in office.

Rasmussen poll: Harry Reid now losing to four Republicans, a Whig and a Druid

Businessman Danny Tarkanian now leads Reid 47% to 39%. Sue Lowden, ex-chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, holds a 45% to 39% lead on the Senate majority leader, while former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle earns 44% of the vote to Reid’s 40%.

OK, we made up the part about the Whig and the Druid. But since everyone who’s even thinking about getting into the Nevada senate race now outpolls Reid, we suspect a Whig and a Druid would also be favored over Reid.

Here’s how Rasmussen reports Reid’s imminent retirement:

Businessman Danny Tarkanian now leads Reid 47% to 39%. Sue Lowden, ex-chairman of the Nevada Republican Party, holds a 45% to 39% lead on the Senate majority leader, while former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle earns 44% of the vote to Reid’s 40%.

Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki, another Republican who is now reportedly considering entering the race, barely edges Reid 44% to 41%. A judge in December dismissed an indictment against Krolicki alleging that he mishandled money while serving as state treasurer. Krolicki charged that the indictment was politically motivated.

And now we bid a fond farewell to the soft spoken Reid with Roy Rogers’ and Dale Evans’ rendition of Happy Trails To You.

As Casey Kasem might have said on American Top 40, “This one’s goin’ out to Harry Reid in Las Vegas, Nevada.”

Harry Reid’s lousy poll numbers are genetic

Harry Reid’s son Rory Reid, a Democrat who’s running for governor of Nevada, has poll numbers nearly as anemic as the old man.

Corrupt U.S. Senate leader Harry Reid trails all three of his potential Republican rivals by significant margins in every poll. And it looks like it may be a family trait.

Harry’s son Rory Reid, a Democrat who’s running for governor of Nevada, has poll numbers nearly as anemic as the old man.

According to Pollster.com, the younger Reid has just 20 percent and 24 percent of the vote in two possible three-way matchups. In head-to-head races with likely Republican candidate and former federal judge Brian Sandoval, he’s down by 22 points, 53% to 31%.

Yup, it’s genetic. Rory Reid has his mother’s eyes and his father’s poll numbers.

It’s a scientific fact.
