Good lord, Harry. A couple more speeches like this and we’ll have to put our liberal friends on 24-hour suicide watch.

Either this is the greatest health plan in history or Harry Reid is over-promising with this post-ObamaCare vote comment:
“Today we vote whether to even discuss one of the greatest issues of our generation – indeed, one of the greatest issues this body has ever face: whether this nation will finally guarantee its people the right to live free from the fear of illness and death, which can be prevented by decent health care for all.”
Live free from the fear of illness and death?
Well, hell, why didn’t the Democrats just mention immortality in the first place? Now that we understand the miracles to be wrought by ObamaCare, we’re behind it 110%. Maybe 115%.

When an opponent is willing to make fun of you like this it’s a pretty good indication that your campaign is in big trouble.

When was the last time you saw a state’s largest newspaper eviscerate a powerful, influential politician as thoroughly as the Las Vegas Review-Journal gutted Harry Reid on Sunday?

When was the last time you saw a state’s largest newspaper eviscerate a powerful, influential politician as thoroughly as the Las Vegas Review-Journal gutted Harry Reid on Sunday?
Their relationship has been rocky for years. But Harry made the mistake of telling the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce that he hopes the Review-Journal goes out of business. The paper responded with a scathing editorial:

Looks like cowardly Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader who was so quick to declare that we’d lost in Iraq, may soon need to declare another defeat – his own.
Looks like cowardly Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader who was so quick to declare that we’d lost in Iraq, may soon need to declare another defeat – his own.
Here’s how the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the results of its latest poll:
It’s the highest stakes ever for a Nevada election, and former boxer Sen. Harry Reid is on the ropes early. Either Republican Danny Tarkanian or Sue Lowden would knock out Reid in a general election, according to a recent poll of Nevada voters.
The results suggest the Democratic Senate majority leader will have to punch hard and often in order to retain his position as the most accomplished politician in state history, in terms of job status.
Nevadans favored Tarkanian over Reid 49 percent to 38 percent and Lowden over Reid 45 percent to 40 percent, according to the poll.
Reid’s status makes him an icon of the Democratic Party and ties him to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and President Barack Obama, both of whom are losing ground among centrist and right-leaning voters in the country.
Looks like it won’t be long before Harry can return to his beloved Nevada and his even more beloved crooked real estate deals.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: “The status quo simply is not where America is”
The senate majority leader’s not real good on that definition stuff.

Senate Democrat leader Harry Reid put on a virtuoso performance yesterday when asked about Sonia Sotomayor’s academic and professional qualifications to be on the Supreme Court.
“Everyone in America, I want them to understand that we have the whole package here,” Reid said. “If that wasn’t enough, her background is very significant — we could not have anyone better qualified.”
“I understand that during her career, she’s written hundreds and hundreds of opinions,” he continued. “I haven’t read a single one of them, and if I’m fortunate before we end this, I won’t have to read one of them.”
If the rest of us are fortunate, the voters of Nevada will send this guy off to represent Sun City in the next election.

Harry Reid called in reinforcements at his fundraiser Wednesday night in Las Vegas.
Here’s how the Huffington Post described the event:
“So, yesterday, the first big political fundraiser of the year was held here at Caesars Palace to kick off Reid’s reelection campaign. Bette Midler, Sheryl Crow, Rita Rudner and Clint Holmes entertained. But the big draw was President Obama.”
Sounds fabulous. Nevadans must have turned out in droves to see President Obama and all those world class entertainers. Tickets must have been hard to come by.
Or maybe not. Here’s the next paragraph from HuffPo:
“At any rate, the fundraiser was a great success. (Even though a limited number of tickets were given away by a business called House Seats that is utilized by local venues to ensure a full house.)”
To repeat, they had to give tickets away because they couldn’t sell ’em. An empty room would given visual evidence of Reid’s shaky grasp on power.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal quotes a Republican on Reid:
“‘Frankly, it speaks to the Democrat Leader’s deep unpopularity at home that he is already calling in reinforcements from Washington to help boost his sagging approval numbers in Nevada,’ Brian Walsh, a spokesman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday. ‘Once again tonight, Harry Reid is simply reminding Nevadans that he’s more in touch with the Democrats in Washington than with the voters in his state.'”
It may be true that Harry Reid is completely devoid of personality and popularity. But in his defense, we don’t think Jesus Christ could draw a full house in Vegas if Midler and Crowe were his opening acts.

Harry Reid looked stupid three times in one news conference on Tuesday. And that’s not a smart thing to do on a day when a poll showed he’s unlikely to be re-elected by Nevada voters.
First, when asked if Teddy Kennedy’s cancer was in remission, Reid answered, “As far as I know, it is, yes.” A Kennedy spokesperson declined to comment, the classic form of denial in Washington, DC.
Then Reid noted that Senator Robert Byrd would soon be released from the hospital. A Byrd spokesman later said, “…his doctors, in consultation with his family, have not yet determined when he will be released.”
Finally, Reed didn’t know his own party’s position on Gitmo detainees. “Part of what we don’t want is them be put in prisons in the United States,” Reid said. But that differs significantly from what the administration has said.
When asked if President Obama’s position put his Democrat colleagues in an awkward position, Reid said, “Not at all.” But when Reid’s second-in-command, Senator Dick Durban was asked the same question, he clearly contradicted his boss and answered, “Yes.”
Reid’s errors came on a day when a poll showed that only 35% of Nevada voters would vote to re-elect him.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “Nearly half of Nevadans have had enough of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as the powerful Democrat heads into his re-election campaign, a new Las Vegas Review-Journal poll finds.”
“About a third of the state’s voters would re-elect Reid if the 2010 election were held today, according to the poll, but 45 percent say they would definitely vote to replace him. Seventeen percent would consider another candidate.”
So even though Harry screwed up, the voters got it right.

We sincerely apologize for any unpleasant images that headline may have brought to mind, but it seemed appropriate.
Within the course of one hour on Monday night, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz condemned David Feherty for joking about the death of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, then turned around and praised Wanda Sykes’ for joking about the death of Rush Limbaugh.
“My thoughts on the White House correspondents dinner,” Ed said at the top of his show, “the best jokes and why I’m so glad Wanda Sykes took it to Rush Limbaugh.”
Ed rolled tape that showed Sykes’ comments. Well, most of Sykes’ comments. “Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails. So you said, I hope America fails. I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker but he was just so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight.
Ed conveniently edited out these offensive words: “Rush Limbaugh. ‘I hope the country fails.’ I hope his kidneys fail. How about that.”
A few minutes later, Schultz featured Feherty’s joke about killing Reid and Pelosi. He condemned Feherty and called the joke “insanity” and “sick.”
Our best guess is that Ed knows he can say any damn thing he wants, no matter how stupid or hypocritical, because he knows virtually no one is watching his show. If a tree falls in the forest and no one’s there to hear it, does it make a noise?

Harry Reid is apparently pissed off that people think Joe Biden is the stupidest man in Washington, DC. He wants to win the title back. So he fired off this gem.
What does this mean, Harry? They will not have paid their taxes? They employed illegal aliens. They are illegal aliens?
Hey, Harry, did he happen to mention that our grandkids will be paying for his gift?

Can someone explain why Harry Reid is the leader of the United States Senate? For God’s sake, man, is this really what passes for a leader in today’s America?
Nevertheless, this Caspar Milquetoast of a man decided two years ago today that the war in Iraq was lost. He announced it to the world.
If you’re still in an explaining kind of mood, can someone please explain why this clip wasn’t shown time after time after time on every TV network and independent station in America during the last election?
Yes, we hate the media.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s popularity is tracing the trajectory of the Hindenburg.
According to a new Rasmussen Reports poll, 60% of likely voters now view her unfavorably. And that’s the good news. The bad news for Queen Nancy is that 42% give her a “very unfavorable” rating. The trend is not her friend, either. Her favorability score has plummeted 7% in just two weeks.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid doesn’t fare much better. 45% give Reid thumbs down, but only 23% approve of his performance.
According to Rasmussen’s analysis, “Congress is feeling voter anger over executive bonuses paid by AIG after it received a massive taxpayer bailout.”
But wait. It’s not just congressional Democrats who are polling poorly. Two-thirds of Americans think President Obama is likely to hike income taxes on people earning less than $250,000 a year.
We did our own poll. 67% said Pelosi is full of crap. 54% said she should cut down on the botox. 39% said, “Nancy Who?”

Here’s an absolutely remarkable video in which Senate majority leader Harry Reid repeatedly explains to a dumbfounded interviewer that paying income taxes is completely voluntary.
Please keep in mind that Reid’s the guy in charge of getting the trillion dollar “stimulus” package through the senate. This is the guy who’s supposedly in charge of writing the tax code. And as far as we can tell, this must be the guy who served as Tim Geithner and Tom Daschle’s tax advisor.
We’d like to pause now to extend our warmest congratulations to Barbara Boxer. As a result of this video, there is now proof that she is no longer the dumbest member of the United States Senate.
