Obama’s ping pong Pyongyang foreign policy

Time to start apologizing to the North Koreans, President Obama.
Time to start apologizing to the North Koreans, President Obama.

If you ask what the Obama administration’s policy on North Korea is, you have to then ask another question: What day of the week is it? Because the policy seems to change daily.

Ping: Back in April, when Pyongyang tested its first long-range missile, the President deemed North Korea a “regional threat.”

Pong: After the North Koreans’ latest missile test last week, he called them a global threat.

Ping: National security adviser James Jones said last week that the rogue nation poses no imminent threat to the US.

Pong: Later in the week, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said, “The United States will not accept North Korea as a nuclear-armed state…North Korea’s nuclear program and actions constitute a threat to regional peace and security. We unequivocally reaffirm our commitment to the defense of our allies in the region.”

Ping: On Friday, Gates dialed back the rhetoric and said, “I don’t think that anybody in the [Obama] administration thinks there is a crisis.”

The Obama administration should take note that no one beats the Asians when it comes to ping pong.

Kim Jong-Il’s father called him “a genius of 10,000 talents.” Here’s one you probably didn’t expect.

If you think Kim Jong-Il is merely a run-of-the-mill brutal dictator, think again. His father called him “a genius of 10,000 talents.”

Equestrian. Golfer. Film director. Bon vivant. And now, dancer.

Congratulations to North Korea. They’ve reduced their carbon footprint to an acceptable level.

This is a satellite photo of the Korean Peninsula. Global warming fanatics will probably look at it, wring their hands and wonder why those capitalist, environmental rapists in South Korea can’t be more like their socialist brothers north of the 38th Parallel.

Look how admirable the people of North Korea are, they’d say. They don’t eat up the world’s dwindling natural resources by burning needless electricity generated by unnecessary power plants. They don’t pollute the skies. They don’t make sea levels rise. And they don’t kill any damn polar bears.

On the other hand, global warming realists know the only way to reduce humanity’s so-called carbon footprint to what the greens consider an acceptable level is to flip off every light, shut down every industrial plant, stop the production of food, and return to the sort of pre-industrial conditions that plague the people of the People’s Republic.

We just hope the American people see the light before there are no more lights left to see.

North Korean defector would like to show Nancy Pelosi what real torture looks like

Anyone who wants to call waterboarding torture should talk to Bang Mi-Sun about real torture
Anyone who wants to call waterboarding torture should talk to Bang Mi-Sun about real torture

A shocking story of real torture was told in Washington, DC on Wednesday. It went completely unreported by the biased liberal media that wants you to believe waterboarding somehow rises to the level of torture.

Here’s how Chosun Korea tells the story of Bang Mi-Sun:

There were gasps in the audience at a press conference by female North Korean defectors in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday when Bang Mi-Sun rolled up her black skirt and showed the deep ugly scars in her thighs. The event was part of North Korea Freedom Week.

As soon as she was asked to recount her life in a North Korean concentration camp, Bang (55) stepped on a chair and roll up her skirt. Various parts of her thighs were sunken as if the flesh had been gouged out. She also walks with a limp.

Bang had formerly been an actress with the propaganda squad of the Musan Mine. She fled the North with her children when her husband starved to death in 2002, but soon fell victim to human traffickers. She was arrested by Chinese police and was sent back to the North, where she was tortured. In 2004, she escaped again.

Nancy Pelosi immediately demanded congressional hearings to determine if Dick Cheney had authorized North Korea’s enhanced interrogation techniques.

If Obama’s latest Justice Department nominee doesn’t scare you, nothing will

Harold Koh, President Obama's frightening nominee for the Justice Department
Harold Koh, President Obama's frightening nominee for the Justice Department

President Obama just nominated a character named Harold Koh to be the State Department’s top legal advisors. He sounds more dangerous than unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers.

According to the New York Post, Koh believes:

Judges should interpret the Constitution according to other nations’ legal “norms.” Sharia law could apply to disputes in US courts. The United States constitutes an “axis of disobedience” along with North Korea and Saddam-era Iraq.

Until he was nominated for the State Department position, Koh was dean of the Yale Law School. He believes in a “transnational legal process.” That is, he believes the distinctions between United States law and international law should be eliminated.

What would this look like in a practical sense? Well, California voters have overruled their courts, which had imposed same-sex marriage on the state. Koh would like to see such matters go up the chain through federal courts — which, in turn, should look to the rest of the world. If Canada, the European Human Rights Commission and the United Nations all say gay marriage should be legal — well, then, it should be legal in California too, regardless of what the state’s voters and elected representatives might say.

It’s a bad day today. Almost nothing in the news is funny.

Al-Jazeera’s coverage of dictators is more honest than AP’s

This story provides a perfect demonstration of the corruption of the American media.

What else can it be called when Al-Jazeera’s coverage of tinhorn dictators is more honest than the coverage provided by Associated Press.

Just look at the difference in how the two services each covered the recent…uh…election in North Korea:

The AlJazeera.net story:
Kim ‘re-elected’ in N Korea vote

Kim Jong-il, the North Korean leader, has been re-elected to the country’s parliament in elections that have been closely watched for hints as to his possible successor.

In an unsurprising result Kim was re-elected by voters in Constituency 333 with 100 per cent support, the official KCNA news agency said on Monday.

The report said voters renewed their “unshakable determination to devotedly safeguard” the North Korean leader.

The Associated Press story:
North Korean leader Kim re-elected to parliament

Kim Jong Il was unanimously re-elected to North Korea’s rubber-stamp parliament, state media said Monday, in elections closely watched for signs of a political shift or hints the autocratic leader is grooming a successor.

All eligible voters in Constituency No. 333 cast ballots for Kim, renewing their “unshakable determination to devotedly safeguard” the leader, the official Korean Central News Agency said in first results from Sunday’s poll.

Contrast the two headlines: Al-Jazeera put quotation marks around the word “re-elected” in recognition of the fraudulent nature of the “election.” AP, on the other hand, may as well have been reporting that the British Prime minister had been re-elected.

Contrast the second paragraphs: Al-Jazeera refers to Kim’s unanimous election as “unsurprising” (in parens), another acknowledgement of the fraudulent nature of the “election.” AP simply reports that all eligible voters cast ballots for Kim as if that’s a common occurrence in elections.

Shame on Associated Press. They are so consumed by political correctness that they seem incapable of simply saying, “Kim Jong Il is a petty dictator and this election was a fraud.”

The only thing missing from their story was this line:

“Former President Jimmy Carter traveled to Pyongyang to observe the election and certified that it met the highest international standards for honesty and transparency.”
