In
1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
56 million defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control:
You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are “citizens”. Without them, we are “subjects”.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
If you value your freedom, please spread this antigun-control message to all of your friends.

So true. When we pulled out of Cambodia those of us on the ground could see where Pol Pot was headed but nobody listened or cared. The “important” thing was to end the Vietnam war. Which didn’t happen for another 2 years but you will never hear a politician admit it. The last two names on The Wall are Charles McMahon and Darwin Judge, who died April 29 1975 when their chopper was shot down during the evacuation of Saigon.

My solution would be another pun thread.

Well, you took a shot…

Yeah, hard to get a bead on what people want to hear these days.

What we want to hear these days are punnier puns from all the punny people here.

Also, hard to zero in on the aim of some comments these days.

Why are you targeting him?

Him who JP? sifi isn’t targeting me and if it were true I could care less. You sure it wasn’t you for starting all this mess? LOL

Methinks you missed the point…

Your punabilities have deteriorated, leaving you but a shell of your former self.

Shootouts during these pun threads can be fun. Just don’t go off half-cocked.

JPTravis

Are you saying I have an itchy trigger finger? That I’m trying to insight a punfight? Is that the scope of what you’re saying?

sifi

In these linear threads the last shooter is usually marked as the target. I like to think of a scatter gun in hogans alley. If you feel a sting, fire back.

JPTravis

So little does your challenge worry me, I sit here casually blowing bubbles with my stick of Bazooka…

The point, the boat, the ship, I missed a lot of shit over the years.

If you have trouble zeroing in on the aim of absurd comments maybe it’s time to hang up your official smart ass badge.

I was watching judge Napolatino on Fox & Friends, he was discussing the schools in Israel. As you know everyone is required to serve in the IDF. They have armed “vets” in the classrooms, unidentified.

By comparison to Israel we don’t even have a “problem” here. These incidents are freakishly rare and the source is an emotionally disturbed student – not a foreign agent. All the King’s horses and all the King’s agents of ambiguous gender will never eliminate tragic events completely. You got it perfectly right when you pointed out that so many people had so much advanced warning that this kid was a disaster looking for a place to happen and NONE of them zipped up their pants and did anything. They all kicked the can down the road… until it blew up.

StrinaM

And my solution for school shootings is STOP MAKING OUR KIDS SITTING DUCKS with these gun free zones crap. I want my kids school full of legally carrying adults and a sign that says so.

sifi
Member

Sign – This is NOT a gun free zone!

Shooter – Expecting return fire looks elsewhere.

StrinaM

Exactly!

Ever since Lindsey Vonn opened her mouth against Trump she’s not done well. Athletes should concentrate on competing and shut up about politics.

JPTravis
Member

Laura Ingraham? Is that you, Laura?

StrinaM
Member

All I’m saying is that she thought she was being edgy with getting all political and getting a zing in and she’s had nothing but crap. She was too concerned with the wrong things and thought her competition was in the bag.

JPTravis
Member

And because of the three or four Olympic athletes mouthing off about politics and announcing preemptively that they hate the president, ratings have tanked so bad NBC is facing bankruptcy. Every time these athletes get upset about being called stupid, they prove the point.

StrinaM

That’s why I haven’t watched.

whiskeyriver

I have watch some of the reruns on the ‘puter, I like to see people who are good at what they do just doing it. But watching on the ‘puter after the fact means I don’t have to watch all the commercials and listen to the asinine commentators flap their gums.

StrinaM

Our entire team sucked this year because ppl were more concerned with diversity and politics than talent and competition.

The constant examples of bad sportsmanship don’t help. Now it’s a Canadian female hockey player who ripped off her silver medal as soon as they hung it around her neck. I guess she was pissed about not winning gold, I don’t know.

Read elsewhere of making it TDY for active military. Pull our guys out of the countries the US stomped in WW2 and use them at home. Rotate them out pretty frequently and don’t use Marines; we can’t subject our young ladies to the charm of a Marine in uniform.;)

You left out the part that says we Americans will defend ourselves at all costs. And we will do it with a gun in hand if need be.

PsychoDad

Simple enough, in theory. Treat schools like any other public building and station armed security. Ask these effin leftards why you never hear of mass shootings at police stations, NRA meetings, or gun ranges. It’s really pretty simple.

I like what actor Michael Ian Black said recently: “Boys are broken”. I couldn’t agree more. The way boys are raised and how they are treated in school nowadays is proof. A lot of children, not just boys, are raised in broken homes, many by feminist single mothers. The modern educational system has expectations that cater more to girls than boys. Boys need movement, they need real-world learning and physical labor, not sitting down and being still all day. Doesn’t matter what the weapon is, doesn’t matter if we ban everything in existence: until we fix how the current system treats boys, this problem will only get worse.

Put the ACTUAL crazies that SAY they are going to hurt people or WANT to hurt people or FANTASIZE about hurting people away. Looooonnnnggg prison terms for those that have hurt people.

Start treating mental illness as mental illness. This guy was a nutjob, threatening other students, going on YouTube to threaten a school shooting, generally wallowing through life in an irrational manner. But the left, in its never-ending effort to normalize aberrant behavior, has taken away almost any diagnosis of mental illness. As a consequence, there is nothing we can do with people like this. And our big cities are full to overflowing with mentally ill homeless people who prey on their neighbors and themselves, pollute the city with their feces and garbage, and generally ruin the civilization that has decided not to treat them as what they are, ill.

This damned kid, you can tell by looking at his picture there’s something off about him. Yet the schools just kept trying to “educate” him. Kicked him out of one school and took him in at another, over and over. Look at him. He belongs in an institution, you can tell. I used to have a summer job in college that at one point each summer the big state home for the mentally ill would come over to our tourist attraction with busloads of these people and we would give all of them a ride… and that’s what they looked like, ears sticking out, low forehead, whacked-out eyes, etc. Why in the hell we closed all out mental institutions and pushed all these poor people out into the streets, I have never been able to figure out.

I’m guessing the cops here would say the same thing, that they find themselves arresting and booking people who they can tell just by looking at them are never going to function as normal constructive members of society, and the whole time they’re booking them they know in their heart the correctional institutions are the wrong place for them. But we’re stuck in this paradigm where everybody’s viewpoint has equal value with everybody else’s, and crazy people have a right to be crazy and wander the streets. Maybe it’s us that’s insane.

Even when we used to arrest crazies, and I mean serious crazies, Half the time the mental health folks would let them “escape” while they ate popcorn and talked shit….You would not believe how WORTHLESS mental health facilities are…

SHAGGY

I would. Been there, done that – 40 years ago.

Unfortunately the problem with getting mentally ill folks into secure facilities for treatment can be laid at Ronald Reagans feet. One of the first things he did after he was elected was get a bill passed that cut funding to the state for mental health care and facilities to house them. That was one of the few black marks on his record as our President.

JPTravis
Member

Reagan cut off the federal funding but the process of deinstitutionalizing the mentally ill was already decades old by the time he did that. Most mental institutions were state institutions, funded by states, so cutting off the federal money shouldn’t have made a difference. The problem is that liberals have made it gospel that the mentally ill need to be mainstreamed into our communities. I cannot understand how that benefits either side. I know there were abuses in the big institutions but there are abuses in the little halfway houses and residence centers we have now, they just don’t hit the news like the bigtime abuses in the big old institutions did.

Teachers, coaches, janitors, anyone already working in the school should be able to carry if they get the proper training. They are already there, on the spot, we already pay them so no added cost to us taxpayers.

Have armed security roaming the halls. They can be paid for by cutting off the “foreign aid” crap to countries who hate us and none of our money has helped the poor anyway, it goes into the pockets of the dicktaters running the country.

Get rid of those stupid “gun free zone” signs and put up signs that say “Teachers are armed. Armed security guards are on site. Try to harm any student and we will shoot your ass.”

It is time to quit this namby-pamby crap and look at facts. Guns are a part of our life, part of living in a free country. And sometimes some nut will use one to kill innocent people. But fewer nuts will be inclined to do so if they know they will die if they try to shoot up a school full of innocent children.

Armed guards patrolling outside the schools. Pay for it with the money we waste at the UN and Israel.
