Adventures in public speaking: Barack Obama and the Teleprompter Chronicles

by editor on November 23, 2010

Barack Obama was the greatest orator in American history. He mesmerized adoring crowds. He hypnotized mere humans. His tongue was golden and his words were like honey.

Until the Teleprompter broke.

This clip is a great compilation of Obama’s misadventures with that greatest of all inventions.

Hey, Teleprompter man, read this:

“I, (state your name), have really screwed up what should have been a real American’s job. I thought I was the business – all my friends said I was the business, so I must have been. It’s not my fault I screwed up, it was George Bush (Jr)’s fault. I cannot help being an empty suit, a consummate liar, and not entirely sure of my ancestry, any more than I can help not being able to speak with genuine feeling, and from my heart, without the aid of a teleprompter, whose content was probably penned by somebody else.

I am an abject failure, and will NOT be seeking a second term, if I ever get to that point.

Sorry, America, I truly am, from the bottom of my heat (it says “heat”, is that right?)

Goodbye, suckers”

READ THAT, Mr. PRESIDENT – read it out good and loud…

I sell the things you need to be
I’m the smiling face of your T.V. ohh…
I’m the Cult of Personality
I exploit you; still you love me
I tell you one and one makes three ohh…
I’m the Cult of Personality
Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi ohh…
I’m the Cult of Personality
the Cult of Personality

I’d rather watch G-Dub flub his own words than this clown perfectly recite someone elses any day.

I love the two prompters in the small classroom. Look at one, look at the other, look at one, look at the other. fake eye contact just like toast-masters in Kenya.

Doesn’t work so well in a 20×20 classroom huh?

One correction: he can’t even perfectly recite someone else’s words.

Love that song…I was thinking the other day about how prophetic Living Colour was when they released that song back in ’89…

Whew, that was hard to watch. It’s so awkward watching the President of the United States stumble and fumble so badly. Obama needs a 12 step program to end his teleprompter addiction. I wonder how the Secret Service guys in the background keep from laughing?

Bush sometimes stumbled along or made mistakes however many times he was speaking off the cuff, the fact that Obama relies almost exclusively on a Telemprompter seemingly on all of his major and minor speeches is not a good thing and definetly worst than when Bush would make mistakes.

Still yet another example of why we all HATE THE (lying) MEDIA. If Bush or Palin or (fill in a non-democommie) fumbled around like this JUST ONCE, the media pukes (redundancy) would be screaming. Headllines in the DNC Propaganda rags (they call themselves newspapers, bwahahaha) would be blaring.
Yep, I can see why the morons in the country love this guy, he’s so like them.

Hell yes the media would be all over it. Those ass clowns branded Dan Quayle as an idiot for his potato spelling slip up.

Greetings! I’m just curious why you didn’t give an H/T or any credit to the blog that this video originated on or alternatively who produced it!

Many of the videos are not found on another website, but on youtube itself, so, while I don’t remember anything about this particular article any more, it’s likely a video that was found on youtube itself.

As for the originator of the video, you must mean to post a link to the youtube page itself. We never do that, nor do most sites. It’s easy to get to that page by just clicking on the Youtube logo at the bottom right of the video. Regardless, video originators are thrilled just to have the videos embedded even without reference, as it adds to their youtube “Views” count and increases their popularity.

Thank you for responding and for your clear answer. Kudos and keep up the great work!

James at Dittos Rush!

P.S.: I actually edited this video myself (along with The Obama Diet), posted it to YouTube as well as embedded it on Dittos Rush. I am humbled that you found it interesting.
