Ed “Come right back after these commercials and we’ll apologize for calling Republicans bastards” Schultz

The always classy Ed Schultz called Republicans “bastards who want to destroy the American dream” on his Wednesday night MSNBC show.

The always classy Ed Schultz called Republicans “bastards who want to destroy the American dream” on his Wednesday night MSNBC show.

Schultz: It’s all about takin’ down President Obama. They don’t want to create jobs. They’re not about that at all. And I’ll guarantee you, if you do see the numbers change, which I believe they will, you won’t hear Boehner or any of these new righties give one ounce of credit to the last Congress for fightin’ like hell for a jobs bill. This is an ideological war. I say it on camera tonight here on MSNBC. I will fight these bastards every night at 6 o’clock because I know what they’re up against. I know what they want to do. They want to take down American workers. They want to outsource jobs. They want to destroy the American dream. Concentrate the wealth to the top, and control minorities. That’s what they’re about.

Schultz’ keepers in the control room must have whispered in his earpiece, because after interviewing Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wa.) Ed came back and apologized. You know someone whispered in his ear, because Ed insisted that’s what hadn’t happened.

Schultz: It is going to be a very passionate fight, and I just, no I haven’t had anybody in my earpiece since I started tonight, and management’s not saying I’m over the top. I just referred to the Republicans as a term I probably shouldn’t have used, but, I know what, they just infuriate me. I don’t think they’re honest brokers. I think they’re out to destroy unions. I think they’re out to destroy the working folk of America. I think they have nothing on the table for middle-class, the middle-class Americans out there who haven’t had the breaks that the top two percent has had. So, if I offended some of you by that term I used a few moments ago, I apologize. Maybe I’ve had too much TV.

Hmmmm. “Maybe I’ve had too much TV.” Same reaction we have on those nights we watch MSNBC.

Ever noticed liberals’ habit of saying disagreement with them equals hate? So has Brit Hume.

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume calls out the left for its hypocrisy. Correction: Make that their blatant hypocrisy.

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume calls out the left for its hypocrisy. Correction: Make that their blatant hypocrisy.

TheDailyCaller.com reports Brit’s pissed-offedness:

“It has become a habit of the American left to equate disagreement with liberals and liberalism with hate,” Hume said. “So convinced do they seem of the virtue of their cause that the only possible explanation for resistance to it must be hatred. In the past week, at least two prominent liberal commentators spoke of the need to resist the right, quote, ‘Obama hate machine.’ Hardly a surprise then that the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Giffords would quickly be blamed on what columnist [Paul] Krugman of The New York Times called the climate of hate, fomented of course by the right.”

Hume also pointed out that some of the attempts to capitalize politically on the tragedy are deeply misguided.

“Never mind that the only climate that seemed to matter here was the fevered swamp of Jared Loughner’s mind,” he continued. “The Democratic sheriff of Pima County also saw a connection to the national climate, though he admitted he had no evidence, just his opinion he said. Here in Washington, Democratic Congressman Brady of Philadelphia has a bill to make at it crime to use language or symbols that quote, ‘Could be perceived as threatening violence against Congress.’ So presumably our national discourse will now be cleansed of references to attack ads and targeted races and blasting one’s opponent. Congress better kill that bill before it’s a crime to use the phrase and before anyone gets idea that regulating speech will have any effect on the behavior of the deranged.”

Oh, Brit. You right wing wacko, you.

Democrat Senator Joe Manchin has blood on his hands

We’re absolutely positive that Joe Manchin’s TV ad is what motivated Jared Loughner to shoot Gabrielle Giffords. And we’re even more sincere about it than the lunatic left is that Sarah Palin’s little target symbols caused him to do it.

Remember this Manchin campaign commercial? Candidate (and now Senator) Joe Manchin said “I’ll take on Washington and this administration and get the federal government off of our backs!” Then he picked up his rifle and fired a shot right through Obama’s healthcare bill.

We’re absolutely positive that this is what motivated Jared Loughner to shoot Gabrielle Giffords. And we’re even more sincere about it than the lunatic left is that Sarah Palin’s little target symbols caused him to do it.

Christina Green’s father doesn’t want her murder to result in restriction of freedom

The parents of Christina Green must be remarkable people. Could you hold it together like this if you experienced such a tragedy is your life? We couldn’t. Could you express yourself so eloquently? We couldn’t. Could you separate emotion from logic like this? We couldn’t.

The parents of Christina Green must be remarkable people. Could you hold it together like this if you experienced such a tragedy is your life? We couldn’t. Could you express yourself so eloquently? We couldn’t. Could you separate emotion from logic like this? We couldn’t.

“We know she wouldn’t want things changed,” John Green said. “She would not want restrictions … I think there’s always going to be random acts. I think Christina and our family generally believes that there’s a lot of good people out there and that’s what we’re going to take away from this … We don’t wish this on anybody and I’m sure they don’t wish this on us. If we live in a country like the United States where we are more free than anywhere else then we are subject to things like this happening. And, that’s the price we have to pay.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Green family.

Is Sheriff Dupnik is responsible for the Tuscon massacre?

The real problem with Pima County Sheriff Dupnik’s on-going bombast – if you distract everyone by pointing fingers, maybe no one will notice that they should, perhaps, be pointed at you.

We love James Taranto. His Wall Street Journal Best of the Web Today blog is one of our favorites.

He pegged the real problem with Pima County Sheriff Dupnik’s on-going bombast – if you distract everyone by pointing fingers, maybe no one will notice that they should, perhaps, be pointed at you.

“I’d like to make one additional point on Sheriff Dupnik. I think we’re missing the point when we’re talking about his political agenda. This man and this suspect has had previous contact with the sheriff’s office. It looks to me, we don’t have many details on this, but it looks as though he slipped between the cracks. I think what we really need to look into is what happened when he had previous contact with the sheriff’s office with their negligence here. And, I think the sheriff is trying to distract from that question.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vQ4q1woO8I

No, James. It doesn’t just look like Loughner slipped through the cracks, he did slip through the cracks.

TheChollaJumps has the specifics of the slippage:

Jared Loughner has been making death threats by phone to many people in Pima County including staff of Pima Community College, radio personalities and local bloggers. When Pima County Sheriff’s Office was informed, his deputies assured the victims that he was being well managed by the mental health system. It was also suggested that further pressing of charges would be unnecessary and probably cause more problems than it solved as Jared Loughner has a family member that works for Pima County. Amy Loughner is a Natural Resource specialist for the Pima County Parks and Recreation. My sympathies and my heart goes out to her and the rest of Mr. Loughner’s family. This tragedy must be tearing them up inside wondering if they had done the right things in trying to manage Jared’s obvious mental instability.

Every victim of his threats previously must also be wondering if this tragedy could have been prevented if they had been more aggressive in pursuing charges against Mr. Loughner. Perhaps with a felony conviction he would never have been able to lawfully by the Glock 9mm Model 19 that he used to strike down the lives of six people and decimate 14 more.

Hmmmmm. Makes a little too much sense to be ignored, doesn’t it?

Judgment to Rush: Arizona sheriff blames Limbaugh for Tucson murders

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has made himself judge, jury and sounds as if he’d like to complete the trifecta and become the executioner. But of talk show host Rush Limbaugh, not of Jared Loughner.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has made himself judge, jury and sounds as if he’d like to complete the trifecta and become the executioner. But of talk show host Rush Limbaugh, not of Jared Loughner.

Dupnik announced that the talk show host is “irresponsible” for his vitriolic comments.

ABC News has the Dupnik details:

“The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information,” Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik said today.

“[Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences.”

Limbaugh today railed against the media and Dupnik for trying to draw a link between the heated political climate and the shooting rampage, calling the sheriff a “fool.” But Dupnik stood by his assertions.

“The vitriol affects the [unstable] personality that we are talking about,” he said. “You can say, ‘Oh no, it doesn’t,’ but my opinion is that it does.”

Pot, meet kettle: Dupnik seems to be an expert when it comes to vitriol. He decided no investigation was necessary because he knew exactly what motivated Jared Loughner within minutes of the shooting.

At the risk of using a phrase that Dupnik might call vitriolic and irresponsible, one might call his actions a clear case of, “Ready, fire, aim.”

Time’s Joe Klein reveals the obvious: MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is stupid

Joe Klein referred to an earlier appearance he made on MSNBC with Ed Schultz. He flat out called Ed stupid, which will undoubtedly come as news to no one except Schultz himself.

Time magazine’s Joe Klein showed up on CNN’s Sunday “Reliable Sources” on Saturday. He was fired up. Angry. Disgusted.

ed-schultz-stupid
Ed Schultz demonstrating the sophisticated analysis that pissed off Joe Klein

In general, he’s unhappy about the lack of complexity on cable news. Specifically, he referred to an earlier appearance he made on MSNBC with Ed Schultz. He flat out called Ed stupid, which will undoubtedly come as news to no one except Schultz himself.

“Well, that brings me to point number two. It’s really hard, we choose – cable news chooses – not to really deal with complicated issues with the level of complexity that they deserve. I was on Ed Schultz’ show to discuss Afghanistan. I was just back from there. It is the most complicated issue imaginable. And the guy writes down on a piece of paper, ‘Get out now,’ and holds it up on the screen. That’s so stupid and it’s so unworthy. And it really — it’s one of the reasons why people hold us in lower regard than they do lawyers.”

C’mon, Joe, you work for a news magazine. Tell us something we don’t know.

Britain discovers that the cost of sustainable energy is, in a word, unsustainable

The failure of Britain’s wind farms to produce electricity in the extreme cold will cost billions of pounds, create an economic crisis and lead to blackouts, leading industrialists have warned.

Have you ever noticed that the rude intrusion of reality into the sustainable energy debate always hits eco-wackos hardest?

british-wind-farm-snow
Cold weather makes British wind farms freeze up like an old maid on a honeymoon

The Daily Mail UK reports on the unexpected consequences of the colder than normal British winter:

The failure of Britain’s wind farms to produce electricity in the extreme cold will cost billions of pounds, create an economic crisis and lead to blackouts, leading industrialists have warned.

To cover up the ineffectiveness of wind farms the Government will be forced to build emergency back-up power plants, the cost of which will be paid by industry and consumers.

… Industry regulator Ofgem has already calculated that the cost of achieving sustainable energy targets – set by Brussels but backed by the British Government – will amount to £200 billion, which will mean that annual household fuel bills will double to about £2,400 on average within the next ten years.

In the last quarter ending December 23, wind turbines produced on average 8.6 per cent of our electricity, but the moment the latest bad weather arrived with snow and freezing temperatures, this figure fell to as low as 1.8 per cent.

The slack was immediately taken up by efficient, but dirty, coal-fired power stations and oil-fired plants.

And we’ll bet a couple pounds that the British eco-wackos had their furnaces turned up just as high as anyone else.

Don’t spit your coffee on your computer: Coffee Party changes name to Coffee & Caring Club

You’re forgiven if you don’t remember the Coffee Party. It was supposed to be the liberal response to the Tea Party but was rapidly lost in the mists of inconsequential political movements.

kamp-kumbaya
Attention: The next meeting of the Coffee & Caring Club will be held at Kamp Kumbaya. Naturally, you have to turn left to get there.

Naturally, the origin of the Tea Party –- the historic Boston Tea Party -– had no meaning to the liberals. So their new party met in coffee shops where they sat around and discussed the imponderables of life that liberals always discuss while sipping grande, non-fat, no foam lattes.

Imponderables, indeed. Like this story from the Ithaca Journal that sums up liberals in three short paragraphs:

The Coffee Party Ithaca Area changed its name to better depict issues worked on. Coffee and Caring Club Ithaca Area is the new name.

Lyn Stone, organizer said, “We’re a local grassroots organization that works on humanitarian, social and political issues that affect our community. We care about the citizenry, have compassion for defenseless animals and affect change by applauding the good and giving praise to those who help make a positive difference.

The next meetup is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Triphammer Mall location of Ithaca Bakery. In honor of Martin Luther King’s birthday, Carol Kammen, author, lecturer, historian and columnist for The Ithaca Journal, will be the guest speaker. She will talk about her article “Any Person” regarding Cornell’s yes you can attend policy when it first began in the 1860s. The only requirement was academic preparation. The color of ones skin, religion, sex, class, etc., was of no concern for admission.

On the agenda, we hope, will be changing the club’s name to something more realistic. Like, maybe, the Coffee and Caring and Blaming Bush and Singing Kumbaya Club.

If any of our readers happen to live in the Ithaca area, we’d love to get a firsthand report on that January 16 meeting. Sounds like a real barnburner. Extra credit for photos.

Barney Frank admits he’s old and tired, neglects to mention that he’s also corrupt

Barney Frank is attempting to rewrite his legacy even before he leaves Congress. And if there were ever a legacy in desperate need of rewriting, it would be Frank’s.

barney-frank
You'd still be old, Barney, but you might not be as tired if you'd stop making boinky-boinky with men half your age

The Boston Herald has the details of Barney’s interview with three college-age interviewers:

“I’m tired, and I think … it’d be nice to have some free time, not have to read a lot of stuff I don’t care about,” Frank said. “But I have this chairmanship. It’s an important time for the country.”

It must be reassuring for Frank’s constituents to know that the laws he passes are things he doesn’t care about.

“I’m in the middle of stuff, and I just … can’t walk away from it,” Frank told the youths. “I’m getting old and tired, and I’m working too hard, and this would have been a great job 20 years ago when I was 50 years old. It’s a lot of work now.”

… So why does he continue in politics after a 43-year run that includes his November re-election to a 16th term as a Democrat representing the Fourth Congressional District of Massachusetts?

“Now it’s a sense of obligation,” Frank, 70, told the three young people, who were from Montana.

It’s true. If we were Frank and frank, our sense of obligation would be immense. We’d feel obliged to stay in Congress and cover up our corruption and implication in the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac scandals, the housing bubble and America’s economic collapse as long as is humanly possible.

"Goolsby understands these unemployment numbers," the President said. "And he's hung like a horse."

Politico reports the latest incident of the President voting present:

After reading his prepared remarks on the economy at a window manufacturer on Friday, President Obama sought to take some photos with workers when a pool reporter caught up with him and asked him to explain the connection between the drop in the unemployment rate and the lower-than-expected number of jobs added in December.

Obama’s response, according to the pool:

“You know, you’ve got to talk to Austan Goolsbee. That’s his job.”

Obama then posed for some photos.

Ok, well, at least he knows what he’s good at.

Daring to run against Barack Obama’s record is now “violent rhetoric”

In writing about the horrors that occurred in Tucson, his focus was “violent rhetoric” and it wasn’t just any old violent rhetoric that had Kaplan’s liberal knickers in a knot, but the horrible, evil of “the inflammatory rhetoric of McCain/Palin events in 2008” and “the ugly confrontations at congressional town halls in the summer of 2009.”

If you read the bios of all of the “journalists” at the Huffington Post you might believe them all to be brilliant political strategists, what with “Director” of this and “Professor” of that associated with their names. And Marty Kaplan would fit that mold exactly.

marty kaplan
Marty Kaplan is the highly-esteemed Norman Lear Professor of Entertainment, Media & Society at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. How does he fit all that on a business card?

Why is it then that in writing “The Vitriol in Our National Bloodstream” Kaplan feels justified in making up his own facts?

In writing about the horrors that occurred in Tucson, his focus was “violent rhetoric” and it wasn’t just any old violent rhetoric that had Kaplan’s liberal knickers in a knot, but the horrible, evil of “the inflammatory rhetoric of McCain/Palin events in 2008” and “the ugly confrontations at congressional town halls in the summer of 2009.”

It’s kind of amazing how liberal memories work. Which “McCain/Palin events” is the author referring to? If our memory serves correctly, the only examples of violence during the 2009 town hall meetings attributed to the left, such as the infamous SEIU beating of an African-American vendor.

Going even further down the deluded liberal path, Kaplan finds the tragedy in Tucson the perfect opportunity to score political points against “right-wing anarchism” and the ridiculous individuals who “accord scriptural authority to the Constitution” and don’t believe as the author does that “The Constitution isn’t holy writ; it’s a living document whose text and meaning have evolved through the centuries” which essentially means that people like Kaplan can make it mean anything they want it to mean.

The author also wants this tragedy to be “a teachable moment.” That’s a noble sentiment, but unfortunately, he only wants it to teach something that is not true.

The right, whether speaking of Republicans, Conservatives or Tea Party, has no interest in “tearing down the government,” but merely in limiting it.

That became a crime when, Professor Kaplan?

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell loses it, calls Leslie Stahl an idiot and a simpleton

Rendell wants to expand gambling in the Keystone State. Leslie Stahl is appalled that he thinks people should be responsible for making their own decisions as to whether or not they want to participate.

Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell finally gets it right. He’s known for making outrageous comments that are, shall we say, perhaps not thought out as well as they might be. Think of him as Joe Biden on steroids. But in this case, it’s tough to disagree with the outspoken Democrat.

The background: Rendell wants to expand gambling in the Keystone State. Leslie Stahl is appalled that he thinks people should be responsible for making their own decisions as to whether or not they want to participate. The Nanny State mentality demands, of course, that people be protected from themselves.

By the end of the interview, Ed is snarling, yelling and insulting. And Leslie is Leslie, which means she deserves whatever scorn he wants to heap on her.

It’s the best 60 Minutes interview in a long time.

Here’s a transcript of the build-up to Ed’s outburst:

Rendell: “The biggest downside is that some people lose their paychecks. But understand, Lesley, they’re not losing their paychecks because Pennsylvania instituted gaming. These people were losing their paychecks in Atlantic City, in Delaware at the racetracks, or in West Virginia.”
Stahl: “So why not lose it here . . .”
Rendell: “Well, if they were going to lose it anyway, let’s get the upside. We were getting all the downside and none of the upside.”
Stahl: “The counter-argument is that you’re creating new gamblers. And lots of new gamblers.”
Rendell: “We’re not creating new gamblers.”
Stahl: “Well, ’cause it’s down the street.”
Rendell: “Those people play the lottery. They bet on football. How much money is bet on the Super Bowl.”
Stahl: “People are losing money for the state to get its revenue. They’re losing money.”
Rendell: “Let me answer this. You . . . you’ve . . . I’ve always . . . I’ve known, uh, for two or three decades, you’re a very smart person.”
Stahl: “But not now.”
Rendell: “But you’re not getting it.”
Stahl: “I’m dumb now.”
Rendell: “You’re not getting it. Those people would lose that money anyway. Don’t you understand? You guys don’t get that. You’re simpletons. You’re idiots if you don’t get that . . . That’s the answer and it’s the right answer.”

So long, Alan Grayson. And thanks for all the laughs!

Against the better judgement or mothers everywhere, we are going to treat you at least one more laugh at the expense of fired congressman Alan Grayson.

It is not entirely true that nobody likes a sore winner. We happen to like them. And we’re betting that you do, too. That is why, against the better judgement or mothers everywhere, we are going to treat you at least one more laugh at the expense of fired congressman Alan Grayson.

Don’t worry, the guy who made a (thankfully brief) political career out of hating the rich is worth about $31 million. He can afford it.

And so on to The New York Times:

He has zero faith in the incoming speaker of the House, John A. Boehner, whom he calls a “tool of special interest.”

He derides the Tea Party’s successes as “bought and paid for by the enormously rich and the selfish.”

And he can barely contain distaste for his Republican successor, whose views he sums up as “bizarre fundamentalist.”

Representative Alan Grayson, a Democrat from Florida’s Eighth Congressional District, is leaving office on Wednesday much as he entered it two years ago — as the pugnaciously partisan, verbal-bomb-tossing, liberal folk hero of the 111th Congress.

Given that liberal folk heroes are generally comprised of cop killers, mass murderers and eugenicists, it cannot be certain that this send off can be considered as a compliment.

Not to worry though. Our sendoff will be with much less ambiguity. And without even the hint of anything that could be considered complimentary.

Hey, Alan. Na na na na, hey hey hey, GOODBYE!

Behold the power of Mother Gaia! She causeth rains that flood a coal mine that causeth global warming!

Eco-wackos tell us that coal is killing the planet. In fact, they tell us that it is causing global warming that is, in turn, causing a drought that is, in turn, causing the entire continent of Australia to dry up and blow away.

australia-coal-mine-floodNews.com.au has details for any droughting Thomases among you:

The massive Queensland coal industry is at a standstill as flooding shuts mines, rail lines and ports.

The flooding is causing at least $2 billion in lost production for the industry – source of more than half the world’s seaborne trade in the commodity.

That’s right. Coal is causing global warming. Global warming is causing the greatest drought in Australian history. So Mother Gaia is getting her revenge by causing torrential downpours which have caused massive flooding that closed down this Australian coal mine.

Yes, of course, drought and torrential rain seem contradictory to us – the unwashed and the uninformed – but they’re not. Truth is, we’re just not smart enough to understand the power and logic and really nasty temperament of Mother Gaia.

The old lady’s a bitch.

Twelve things to do now that you know global warming is a total fraud

Twelve things to do now that you know global warming is a total fraud

Use toilet paper like it's as worthless as money in Washington, DC.

1. Use all the damn toilet paper you want. Double ply. Triple ply. And if they make it, quadruple ply.

2. Keep your car idling while you listen to “Free Bird” one more time.

3. Take a long, hot shower with a high-flow showerhead after watching the
latest Megan Fox movie.

4. Light up a big pile of old growth firewood and get cozy on your polar
bear rug.

5. Start that fire by using your prized copy of “An Inconvenient Truth” as kindling.

6. As long as its brakes don’t fail, take your Prius down to the nearest
dealership and trade it in on a big, honkin muscle car.

7. Pause to laugh at global warming advocates shoveling snow off their
driveways.

8. Use real light bulbs that create actual friggin’ light when you flip the
switch.

9. Reschedule that polar bear hunt you cancelled in the 90s.

11. Instead of scraping the frost of your car windows in the morning, crank
up Glenn Beck, and use the defrosters.

12. Cancel that trip to the Himalayas to see the glaciers before they disappear.

Poor, misunderstood Nancy Pelosi explains that she’s really “all about market-oriented solutions”

Now we find out that all Nancy Pelosi really wanted to do was out Milton Friedman Milton Friedman. The woman is all about those gol’ danged free market solutions. She’s all over ‘em. Loves ‘em. Has ‘em on her cinnamon raisin bagel in the morning.

The problem, we now discover, is that people never understood that because she’s both dense and incomprehensible.

“All of the inititiatves we had put forth, whether it was healthcare reform or it was the issues that were related to energy security for our country or whether it was Wall Street help, Wall Street reform, any of them, were all about market-oriented solutions, about private sector leading the way, public policy to set standards or have tax incentives or…or…and the like. But it was all about recognizing our job creation would have to take place in the private sector in order for us to really thrive and be entrepreneurial as a country. So that…the labeling of the President as not being in that mode is not correct. That’s who he is.”

We never understood what she was talking about and after watching this video it’s clear that she doesn’t, either.

By the way, who super glued Nancy’s knees together?

The media puts on the Full Alinsky after tragedy in Tucson

Yesterday, as the Tragedy in Tucson unfolded, FOX gave viewers the journalistic basics – who, what, where and when. They left out “why” as it is yet to be determined, but that didn’t stop the other networks from making both assumptions and accusations.

One doesn’t have to look hard to discover why MSNBC and CNN jostle each other for last place in cable news ratings.

Yesterday, as the Tragedy in Tucson unfolded, FOX gave viewers the journalistic basics – who, what, where and when.

They left out “why” as it is yet to be determined, but that didn’t stop the other networks from making both assumptions and accusations. CNN and MSNBC put on the full Alinsky, disgracefully exploiting the shootings to make political hay.

In Rules for Radicals Saul Alinsky said, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it  and polarize it.” So   instead of blaming the actual shooter and his twisted left wing political philosophy, the mainstream media followed Alinksy’s instructions and blamed all their usual suspects: Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and the Tea Party.

Liberals, the fraudulent Guardians of Free Speech, are once again making a pitch to silence speech they don’t agree with. Yet they choose to ignore the hateful screed of the liberal Daily KOS, who published, then scrubbed, multiple attacks on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, including bulls-eye targets and expressions of “She is dead to me now.”

daily kos

This post has mysteriously vanished

They tossed buckets of blood on Sarah Palin, then pointed their fingers and yelled, “She has blood on her hands!” And they did so without shame, without any sense of hypocrisy.

Six dead, including a child. A dozen injured. Dozens more in pain – the family and friends of the victims.

And all the mainstream media wants to do is exploit it, further fracturing the nation.

After Tucson, it can no longer be said that Obama’s media minions lean left. There is no lean – they are completely, overtly liberal. They’ve discarded the mask.

Yes, after Tucson it’s clear to see why CNN and MSNBC battle each other for last in the ratings, why they are so far back they are invisible in FOX’s rear view mirror.

Small justice, in that.

Six other cases when the media incorrectly blamed conservatives for liberal violence

The liberal media rushed to judgment after the tragedy in Tucson and without any information to back their assertions declared that assassin Jared Loughner was a conservative. When the facts came out, it turned out that he’s a left wing lunatic.

Former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said, “Never let a crisis go to waste.” The liberal corollary seems to be “Never let a tragedy go to waste.”

The liberal media rushed to judgment after the tragedy in Tucson and without any information to back their assertions declared that assassin Jared Loughner was a conservative, that he was influenced by Sarah Palin or by Rush Limbaugh or by Glenn Beck or by the Tea Party. Or by all of the above.

When the facts came out, it turned out that he’s a left wing lunatic.

Legal Insurrection put together a good list of similar tragedies and similar inaccurate accusations:

Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have seen this type of reaction. The meme that opponents of Obama are crazy and dangerous has been an explicit Democratic Party campaign strategy for over two years. Here is just a partial list of events in which the left-wing and Democratic Party media operation has immediately blamed right-wing rhetoric, only to be proven wrong when the facts finally came out: Bill Sparkman, Amy Bishop, The Fort Hood Shooter, The IRS Plane Crasher, The Cabbie Stabbing, and The Pentagon Shooter.

If you’ve never read LegalInsurrection.com, give it a try. They do great work.

Did the Tea Party or Sarah Palin incite Jared Loughner to shoot Gabrielle Giffords?

Sadly, charges are already flying over who is “responsible” for inciting Jared Loughner, 22, to shoot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and a dozen others, six of whom have died.

Sadly, charges are already flying over who is “responsible” for inciting Jared Loughner, 22, to shoot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and a dozen others, six of whom have died.

Liberal websites are quickly accusing Sarah Palin and the Tea Party of creating the environment that set off a crazed lunatic like Loughner. Even old liberal warhorse Jane Fonda has indicted Sarah Palin with absolutely no evidence to support her accusations.

However, a quick look at Loughner’s YouTube channel offers no basis for such conclusions. In fact, if anything, it seems to indicate extreme left wing influences.

For example, Loughner’s YouTube channel lists the following books as his favorites.

I had favorite books: Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of OZ, Aesop Fables, The Odyssey, Alice Adventures Into Wonderland, Fahrenheit 451, Peter Pan, To Kill A Mockingbird, We The Living, Phantom Toll Booth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Pulp,Through The Looking Glass, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Old Man And The Sea, Gulliver’s Travels, Mein Kampf, The Republic, and Meno.

It’s highly unlikely that Mein Kampf and The Communist Manesfesto are listed among the reading material of very many Tea Party members.

Loughner created and uploaded three remarkably paranoid videos to his YouTube channel. You can see them at the bottom of this story. None of them have anything to do with the Tea Party or Sarah Palin.

That being said, we think you’ll find it instructive to watch the one video Loughner marked as his favorite among the millions of YouTube videos available. It shows a man wearing a smiley face mask walking up to and setting on fire an American flag planted in the desert. Burning the American flag is almost exclusively the domain of liberal protesters. It’s something no Tea Party patriot would ever condone.

Make sure you turn up the audio and listen to the words of the heavy metal music to understand Loughner’s twisted view of the world.

UPDATE: Catie Parker, one of Loughner’s classmates at Mountain View High School, also indicates that he was extremely left wing. Here’s a series of Tweets she left regarding the assassin aggregated into one continuous message:

This is a circus. Good Morning America just called me … it’s loughner just checked my year book … I haven’t seen him since ’07. Then, he was left wing … more left. I haven’t seen him since ’07 though. He became very reclusive … he had a lot of friends until he got alcohol poisoning in ’06, & dropped out of school. Mainly loner very philosophical … As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy … he was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix,The Doors, Anti-Flag. I haven’t seen him in person since ’07 in a sign language class … He was a political radical & met Giffords once before in ’07, asked her a question & he told me she was “stupid & unintelligent”

Here’s is Jared Loughner’s “favorite” video:

Here are the videos Loughner created and uploaded to his YouTube channel:

State Department kills off your “mother” and “father.” Replaces them with “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”

The Obama administration has now officially descended to a level one step above the old Conehead skit on Saturday Night Live. The State Department has decided that those people you used to call your mother and father should now be designated “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”

The Obama administration has now officially descended to a level one step above the old Conehead skit on Saturday Night Live. The State Department has decided that those people you used to call your mother and father should now be designated “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”

Beldar and Prymatt, the Conehead “Parental Units,” will sleep well tonight.

Fox News has details of your antithetical antecedents:

The words “mother” and “father” will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, according to the State Dept.

“The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father’,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services Brenda Sprague. “They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’”

A statement on the State Department website noted: “These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.”

Sprauge said the decision to remove the traditional parenting names was not an act of political correctness.

No, of course, it wasn’t. Perish the thought. That had absolutely nothing to do with it.

“We find that with changes in medical science and reproductive technology that we are confronting situations now that we would not have anticipated 10 or 15 years ago,” she said.

Gay rights groups are hailing the decision.

In the words of Gomer Pyle, “Surprise, surprise, surprise.”

“Changing the term mother and father to the more global term of parent allows many different types of families to be able to go and apply for a passport for their child without feeling like the government doesn’t recognize their family,” said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of Family Equality Council.

Her organization lobbied the government for several years to remove the words from passport applications.

In other news, a State Department spokesman announced that passports will longer designate an individual’s sex. “Sexual identity is a fluid, ambiguous situation,” the spokesman said, “So in the future American passports will simply designate their holders as ‘human.’”

We made up that last paragraph, but would it surprise you to read that announcement in some future State Department press release?

The gavel exchange as it should have happened

This is friggin’ hilarious. We wish this is how the passing of the gavel from Nancy Pelosi to John Boehner had really happened.

How do they do this stuff? No, seriously, can someone explain how they do a video like this?

Rick’s new rant: Santelli unhappy with critics of Congressional Constitution reading

Rick Santelli saw the hypocrisy of members of Congress who were sworn in to uphold and protect the Constitution (at least most of them) but pushed back against the idea of having it read on the chamber floor.

The Father of the Tea Party is not happy. And you know what happened the last time Rick Santelli got upset.

Liberals didn’t want the Constitution read on the floor of the House on Thursday. New York Democrat Jerrold Nadler, actually complained that it was being read “like a sacred text.” The New York Times called it “a presumptuous and self-righteous act.”

That didn’t sit well with CNBC’s Rick Santelli.

The Daily Caller has the details:

“Oh my God. We’re wasting so much money. You know this reading stuff is way overrated – whether it’s the Constitution – or reading scores in the U.S., or reading bills,” he said sarcastically. “A complete waste of time – come on. This is the digital age.”

He noted the hypocrisy of members of Congress who were sworn in to uphold and protect the Constitution (at least most of them) but pushed back against the idea of having it read on the chamber floor.

“You know what then – here’s what I want to know – then why did they all swear to that when they took their jobs yesterday? What a bunch of hypocrites.”

“Squawk Box” co-host Joe Kernen offered his view on how he thought some members of Congress viewed the document.

“Some swear to and some swear at it, I think,” Kernen said.

Do. Not. Piss. Off. Rick. Santelli.

Nancy Pelosi speaks, Rosie O’Donnell listens, national bankruptcy ensues

We recall Pelosi’s previous statement that “We had to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” and think to ourselves, “No, you don’t. Just look across our northern border.”

These two short videos pretty much sum up sad situation we find ourselves in with ObamaCare.

In the first clip, Nancy Pelosi tells the fawning press that the Democrats would have passed ObamaCare “even if everyone was happy with their health coverage.” For once, Pelosi unwittingly told the truth, because polls at the time showed that somewhere north of 80% of Americans were satisfied with their healthcare prior to ObamaCare.

To see your unfortunate medical future, watch the second video.

We learned from the Radio Equalizer that Rosie O’Donnell has a satellite radio program. Yeah, we were as shocked as you are, but not as shocked as Rosie was when she got a phone call from a Canadian listener who started off by praising Canada’s universal healthcare system and then revealed that she had been waiting for gastric bypass surgery for seven years and may have to wait several more years.

Caller: It’s not considered an emergency surgery–

O’Donnell: Oh, OK.

Caller: It’s considered elective, so if it was an emergency surgery, it would be a lot quicker. To see any kind of specialist is at least a few months, you’re not going to get into see somebody next week.

O’Donnell: If you called and sort of were persistent in saying to them, ‘I really need this’ … it doesn’t change the [waiting] list order.

Caller: … They’re telling me, by the way, it’s gonna be another two or three years … There’s still about 2,000 people ahead of me.

We recall Pelosi’s previous statement that “We had to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” and think to ourselves, “No, you don’t. Just look across our northern border.”
