Yes, YT, I agree with you about the emphasis put on the Congresswoman, to the extent that you might even think nobody else was shot, listening to some of the news coverage. But I had to give you thumbs down on that one. EVERYONE that this lunatic shot was equally important as a person. It was, and is, and will be, a tragedy for so many people that knew these people, and will be there with the survivors throughout their recovery. ALL of the victims and their loved ones are deserving of our compassion. Anyone who has ever lost a loved one to senseless violence understands. I only hope that you, YT, are never put in such a position, and never have to know that pain.

This kind of thing happens every day in the US. Gabrielle the congress-woman’s life is worth no more than Gabrielle the anonymous waitress yet thats all we’ll hear about for months like the political class is more deserving of prayers.

Actually, the other victims should be mourned. I couldn’t care less about a politician.

Exactly… Did you notice how the media put more emphasis on the death of the Judge than the little 9 year old girl… and what of the other victims? They’re just not important enough and might as well not exist. The News Media is nothing more than another form of entertainment these days… right up there with professional wrestling and soap operas.

A terrible tragedy. My prayers go out for Rep. Giffords and all who are touched by this horrible deed. May the perpetrator meet swift justice instead of living far longer than the victims he killed.

This entire story sounds like something frm a third world, banana republic somewhere. It is unbelievable that it is coming out of the United States. Prayers for all the victims and their families, and prayers too for the shooter’s family, who are victims as well. Many prayers for Congresswoman Giffords. She will have a very long road ahead of her, as will her family and friends.

The most egregious act of this event is the shooting of the little girl. All of the victims are a tragedy, but the little girl hit me the hardest. My heart goes out to her parents and the hole this must create in their lives.

Amen Richwill, the killing of a child is the worst thing this monster did during his rampage. I know how hard it is to lose a child, my youngest son was killed in a car wreck in 2006, but at least he was a grown man and I still have two beautiful grandchildren to remember him with. Even I cannot imagine the pain the parents of this 9 year old girl are feeling and my heart and prayers are with them, and the families of all the victims in this senseless massacre.

As a father of a 13 year old daughter, this also hit me hard. Absolutely senseless. If anyone thinks there is some political gain by acting out like this they are WRONG! For those that seek to blame others – fools you are. I watched an interview last night with her parents and I just can’t fathom being able to be as composed as they were. Fight for what you believe – yes, vote for what you believe – yes, but this is too much. Thanks Richwill for saying what I wanted.

This guy wasn’t seeking fame, he was fulfilling the demands of a schizophrenic mind. Yes the sign were there, but unless you are attached to someone who cares enough about you to get you into help, this sort of thing will happen again. Remember the Virginia Tech incident, just seeking “forced” help often doesn’t make it either. How long will it take until Chucky Summer or Little Dick Durbin turn this into an “anti-gun” issue? Libtards are blaming Palin. The kid is mentally ill, put your energy into helping the victims, not blaming “heated rhetoric”. It is a tragedy, and in a free society, it will happen again.

Isn’t it a shame that we’re here? Socialism has consequences!

A couple of things…

May Rep. Giffords continue to recover & may as full a recovery as she can. God Bless her & her family.

God Bless the victims & the families of those who died.

Last, but not least, the punk ass shooter. Jared Loughner should be be tried for Capital Murder, & if convicted, EXICUTED.

I have said an extra prayer or 500 for her, the other victims and all of their families-and have been even more angry with the left than the shooter.

The left has glommed onto this like a shark on a seal. They have blamed this on Sarah Palin, on the Tea Party-and every other conservative they could come up with.

Fact is, this kid is a skitzoid==a complete whack job-and probably has never been to a conservative blog. He is not the mold. Not even close. He isn’t intellectual. He isn’t a taxpayer. He had no job, no degree-he is the opposite of what conservatism attracts.

the left are pussies. They are making this a new mantra to try to erase more of our rights-and I will bet money-and lots of it-someone on the left talked this kid into doing this. I will bet a month’s pay they did.

I feel so bad for everything. The little girl that was robbed of her future by this evil man, the men, women and children robbed of their spouses and parents. The Congresswoman whom I fear may be disabled for the rest of her life. We may not know all that there is to know about the why’s and reasons, but I do extend my deepest sympathies and prayers to everyone involved. I pray that justice here and elsewhere to be meted swiftly and severely, even for some small consolation for the victims.

For anyone, left or right, to make this a political issue is wrong. It’s a mental health issue. Apparently the signs were there for years.

This was a senseless act that served no purpose except to attach a certain amount of ‘fame’ to the twisted individual(s) who perpetrated this. The actions of those who seek to gain political ‘points’ from this horrible incident only deepen the horror and sadness.

An ordinary and beautiful day apparently in Tucson until a young man ruined it with carnage! My prayers, thoughts and deepest sympathies for all those affected by this tragedy.
