CBO: Electric cars are a waste of money. CBO finds electric cars cost too much (compared to traditional gas-powered) and gov’t subsidies are not enough to make them competitive. What if the price of gas goes up to, say, $8 a gallon? “…if gas were to go to $8, the US economy (and the rest of the world) would come to an economic halt.” Great, then we won’t need cars at all! Utopia!
