Non-voting District of Columbia Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton – a Democrat, naturally – is a moron. A corrupt moron.
This corrupt moron actually left a voicemail for a lobbyist in which she strong-armed him for money by citing her seniority and all the stimulus-funded projects she had helped secure in his “sector.”
“I was, frankly, uhhh, uhhh, surprised to see that we don’t have a record, so far as I can tell, of your having given to me despite my uh, long and deep, uhhh, work. In fact, it’s been my major work, uhhh, on the committee and sub-committee it’s been essentially in your sector. I am, I’m simply candidly calling to ask for a contribution. As the senior member of the, ummm, committee and a sub-committee chair, we have (laughs) obligations to raise, uhhh, funds.”
Congratulations, Congresswoman Norton. You just earned a nomination as Dumbest Member of Congress 2010.
