Pack your bags, Ed: MSNBC’s Schultz loses nearly 2/3 of Rachel Maddow’s audience

by editor on April 28, 2011

Ed Schultz achieved the almost unachievable on Friday, April 22. On that night he lost a remarkable 61% of Rachel Maddow’s lead-in audience. And it’s not like her ratings were anything to brag about.

Ed Schultz: High hopes, low ratings

As you can see in the following chart, MSNBC was rolling along with decent ratings – by MSNBC standards, that is – until Schultz hit the airwaves. Then it appears that leftists across America jumped for their remote controls and tuned in somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Time   Host   Total Audience
5 pm   Matthews   707,000
6 pm   Cenk   613,000
7 pm   Matthews   601,000
8 pm   O’Donnell   819,000
9 pm   Maddow   959,000
10 pm   Schultz   375,000
11 pm   O’Donnell (rerun)   374,000

Not only does Ed lose 61% of Maddow’s audience, but the 11:00 rerun of Lawrence O’Donnell’s 8 p.m. show falls just 1,000 viewers short of Ed’s total. And the rerun isn’t even in prime time hours.

We’d call this an embarrassing performance, but it’s worse than that. Wholesale rejection by MSNBC’s niche audience may just be a one-way ticket back to North Dakota for Big Eddie.

Our advice? Don’t sign any long term leases, Ed.

I love Ed’s enthusiasm and outrage. I hope he stays.

One would think Ed’s editing trick on Rick Perry might have been the last straw for him on MSNBC. Especially after his suspension for calling Laura Ingraham a slut twice on his radio show. Why do they want to stick with someone who gets such poor ratings in addition to all this?
I came across Rachel Maddow on Letterman last night. At one point she said:”Saddam may have been a nightmare…” “may have been”? The spirits of the gassed Kurds and the people pulled from mass graves in Iraq beg to differ with her. Liberals can’t seem to call evil evil. They seem to always have to qualify their words.

They don’t qualify their words when they call you and me terrorists.

You almost had it, Christie IS the sh!t! So far, so good.

BTW, the word must have gone out to rig the voting for this story. Lots of thumbs down votes for no real reason. Then again, progressives will always cheat to win if need be when it comes to voting, ALWAYS.

Most of the comments I read sound like they were written by repubs. They excel at being nasty. I personally think Ed is right on the mark. He is a strong voice for the middle class that the repubs don’t give a damn about. I like all of MSNBC’S commentators.

I ain’t no Republican, but I am a conservative, & there is a difference. I am a very nice guy, but I also have no problem being nasty. Ed deserves exactly what I give him, because he’s an ass. He used to be a conservative radio host who went liberal for professional reasons. Mainly because he could’nt compete nationally with Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Savage, & the others. Make no mistake, Ed is about Ed, he does’nt give a damn about ANYONE else, the unions & middle class only matter to him because he’s using them to advance himself.

He still can’t compete, but he is the biggest leftist radio host…which is like being the greatest ice hockey player from Kenya. He abused his ex wife, who he worked with on WDAY in Fargo…on air. He has a legendary temper, & has gotten into more then a few fights in public places, a couple have become physical. He has no filter at MSNBC either, he’s been warned about borish behavior several times, & will likely be sacked if it happens again. Plus his ratings suck ass, which should get him fired anyway. The man is a jerk, he thinks his sh!t does’nt stink, he’s not likable, & he’s at the last chance saloon. I can’t wait for the prick to emplode, live during a broadcast & be sent to pasture. It could’nt happen to a more deserving person, & I CAN’T WAIT.

Big ed is the lone voice of the middle class, those who dont feel they need his representation today will be poor tomorrow.

So, looking at the thumbs up/down ratio, I’m thinking that Mr. Ed made up at least six different personas to come here and defend his own reputation.

Yeah, Sgt Schultz used to say “I see NOTHING”; Ed can say nothing sees him.

Looks like the 10:00pm slot at MSNBC just took a giant Schultz! Or is Schultz media jargon for “Network Enema”.

This could’nt happen to a bigger piece of crap. Because of that, I shall do this yet again boys & girls…

http://publicsearch.ndcourts.gov/default.aspx

…at CASE RECORDS, click CASS COUNTY, & clck CIVIL, FAMILY, & PROBATE RECORDS.
…then in the correct boxes, enter MAUREEN ZIMMERMAN, then at the bottom, click SERCH.
…you then come to a results page, click the link #09-93-C-00131, & whalah. It’s Ed divorce record. Looks like the usual until you get to #71, 72, & 77. #72 says & I quote, “APPLICATION FOR DOMESTIC VOILENCE PROTECTION ORDER”. Don’t know exactly what he did, but at the minimum it says Ed was an abusive a-hole. We know that his ex felt threatened enough to file for a protection order.

Bottom line is this, Ed is a baseline loser, he has issues with alcohol, he has an explosive temper, & I’ve heard from a couple of places that he is a prick. Special Ed is not worth the trouble, & not worth the money he’s paid. He’s paid to bring in ratings, he’s sinking like the Bismarck, & at some point, ComCast/GE are going to have to pull the trigger. So it looks like I can once again use a Megadeth title, this time, Ed career is on the clock. The “Countdown to extinction” is on.

danybhoy, I don’t need to hear it from a couple places to know that the lardo is a prick.

danybhoy

Maybe not, but I love to run up the score on those who need it, & Ed needs it…

http://www.readexiled.com/manwho.htm

…on top of this little bio, I have heard/read stories about bar fights, & one from Andrew Wilkow on Sirius-XM about him being a total jackass on a media forum with other broadcasters. It was’nt political, & he was a complete prick. The more I hear/read/see, the better I feel about hating this self loathing ass.

Hey opportunity knocks. He’s so incompetent he’ll probably land a gig as assistant press secretary. Certainly there has to be a spot in the regime for a total buffoon like this.

There certainly is…we’re probably looking at the next head of the FCC

How sad – Big Ed couldn’t make it in the Big Apple.

Would that make Special Ed a rotten apple?
