I’m posting this for StrinA. Her husband should be home in a few days and StrinA you hug your man hard as you can. And be patient, help him all you can. Because some men, I was one of them, come home and they are a different person. When a person sees the unbelievable for months on end it wears you down.

And for the rest of my friends here, Memorial Day is two days away so help a vet if you can. And I’m not talking about those panhandlers to carry cardboard signs on the freeway ramps and on city streets begging for money, they are just bums who don’t want to work for a living. Find a shelter trying to help homeless veterans and work with them.

And StrinA, I am glad you husband made it home safe. Baseball is on so I’m gone for the night. Talk to y’all tomorrow.

Our other name was the river rats. But as big as our balls were the tunnel rats had bigger ones. The Viet Cong had dug tunnels all over the place to smuggle men and equipment into South Vietnam. The tunnel rats would drop down an entrance, all alone, and face anything that came their way. At least we were in the open and could see what was coming at us. But the tunnel rats dropped into a dark hole in the ground and followed the tunnel to it’s end. And it was a real kill or be killed situation because they were by themselves and no way to retreat except crawl backwards while firing on anyone. In a pitch dark tunnel. Those men had balls that clanged when they walked.

We brown water sailors were just crazy. We would drop off 5 man Marine re-con unit and two, three, five days later, depending orders, at X coordinates. If they were not there we would beach the boat and try to find them. We would ease through the jungle and hope to find them, or their bodies so they could come home. If at all possible no man was left behind. And we saw some hairy days. The re-con unit would be holding their own but they were pinned down and couldn’t move. So we would do a flanking movement and the shit would hit the fan. Bullets flying everywhere but we gave the unit the time they needed to get out of there then we would haul ass back to the boat. And the thing is that most people do not understand is most of us were under 23 years of age.

Hello again everyone. Last week I told everyone I man get a little goofy, might piss some people off. JP told me to piss away, y’all can handle it.

I was a sailor, not a gravel pounder, but those men faced unbelievable hell. Which is why I honor them too. We were brothers which is all that mattered.

Good morning everyone! In case y’all haven’t noticed I am a big baseball fan. When I lived in Albuquerque I went to every Dukes game I could. Then the idiot mayor we had at the time decided to halt all beer sales and the stadium would be smoke free so I quit going. The Dukes had been around since 1915, off and on, and that was the last straw. People quit going to the games, the stadium was falling apart, so the team was sold and moved to Portland.

The city wised up, rebuilt the stadium, not a new one just made some badly needed renovations, and a few investors started up the Albuquerque Isotopes. And, you can have a beer with your hotdog, no ball game is complete without beer and hotdogs! And they have designated smoking areas so the team has been a success. They are the triple-a affiliate for the Colorado Rockies. But, I had left the city by then and moved out here to the sticks so I haven’t been to a game. Kind of miss it but I got a satellite and the MLB package so I can watch at home!

Oh man, things just keep looking worse for coward deputy Scot Peterson and Sheriff Israel down in Broward County:

https://www.local10.com/news/local-10-investigates/parents-call-for-investigation-into-marjory-stoneman-douglas-high-assault-involving-sheriffs-son

Seems four years ago Peterson helped the sheriff’s son avoid sexual assault charges. Which might explain why the lazy coward got to keep the cushy job he was enjoying as school monitor and how he managed to get such a huge pension. Helping the sheriff’s son stay out of prison has to make you one of the sheriff’s favorites, eh?

From what I read all sheriffs in Florida are elected and can be kicked out of the job in the next election. Dade County is the only exception for some reason.

The voters in Broward county need to get their head out of their butts and elect a real sheriff because the one they have now is a frigging clown.

One song then I am outta here, its been a long day so I’m gonna watch baseball for a while. I haven’t been looking for America, I live out in the sticks. Farmers, ranchers, hard working folks. But I can see where some may think America is lost. And it isn’t and never will be because we will fight for our freedoms and never stop until millions of us are dead.

One more before I go. Remember it isn’t only white men who have served, men and women of all skin colors have served and many had problems when they got home. I know, I was one of them and it took me a few years to get my shit strait.

Did you guys know there are an estimated 1 million homeless veterans in our country? How a country with so much could abandon these men, and now women, pisses me off which why I keep fighting for veterans rights and benefits. If possible help a veteran in need. Get him or her to a VA facility, a homeless shelter, anything you can do to help. Night all baseball is coming on the tube. Hug your loved ones and as Memorial Day gets closer please remember those who died for us.

Our flag flies high over my home every day and since I do not have proper lighting I take it down every night. The one brother that served was stationed in Washington his last year and he talked someone into giving him a flag that had flown over the White House. He sent it to our dad and every 4th of July he would raise it. At sundown he would lower it then the next day put up the usual $15 dollar flag that was easy to replace.

I have belonged to the VFW, DAR and American Legion for many years and have led or attended many flag burning ceremonies. And yes, our flag can be burned but only with decorum and respect. The Sargent At Arms would present an old ragged flag to the commander. He was asked each time, do you deem this flag has done it’s duty? Yes sir, then the flag would go into the fire for proper disposal.
