Arguing that teachers could be overpowered for their guns or misfire causing an accidental shooting, Lear said: ‘It’s a horrible, terrible, no-good, rotten idea.’
If there’s already an armed threat in the school, which is the premise Lear obviously assumes, the teacher being overpowered or having a misfire is a remote chance and still far better than a whole school of children slaughtered while everyone sits around looking stupid. We suggest he send his kids (if anyone’s ever mated with her, which we hope not) to an unarmed school.
